Gold Nugget Tourist Park

Disappointed to be leaving a poor review for a caravan park that has such amazing facilities. We visited with friends who had made our group booking months prior. Bookings were for a mixture of caravan sites & cabins. We’ve never encountered such repeatedly rude staff as we did on this occasion. Staff were unwilling to honour quoted rates, and pushy at insisting that some members of our group had to pay more than they had been quoted at time of booking. It seems they had quoted without recognising it was a peak weekend in town (Leisurefest). One staff member was verbally aggressive and yelling at one of our group who are older and very respectful. One of our group said to staff that they would not be staying again (after being forced to pay more) and were met with a comment along the lines of that’s your problem. On leaving, we tried to explain our experience to give feedback. The staff member responded in clipped tones and was clearly disinterested in anything we had to say.
After leaving, we forwarded a complaint via G’day Parks and despite multiple attempts and responses from G’day Parks who passed our concerns on, the managers of Gold Nugget have not responded to us some 6 weeks later.
We are seasoned travellers and gobsmacked by the repeated rudeness we experienced here. Pretty shameful.

Great park. We have stayed here before and will be back again. Facilities are great. We recommend highly.

Lots for kids to do, but mini Golf needs resurfacing

A little out of Bendigo but well situated for the pottery and talking tram which can take you into the city if you wish. Great amenities and is pet friendly with a dog wash.

Nice well presented park. General service area is neat, clean and large. Good for family and or couples. The parks ashalted roads are wide enough for van and pedestrian traffic.

Very helpful in accommodating us for our extended stay, friendly staff and locals, clean amenities, lots shade, pet friendly.

The pool in mid October was warm at 30 degrees (solar heated) and adults as well as all children were making the most of it! This Park is great value for money and the added bonus was a FREE, giant chess playing game and mini putt putt golf area! The Managers are very friendly and the Park is well maintained.

Ok park. Our ensuite, not a regular for us, had no ventilation. No exhaust fan. Hence the musty smell. We had to leave the door open when not using it.

Brilliant caravan, so friendly and clean.
We had 3 kids under 6 and they had a ball.

It was cold, no water the second day, ants everywhere and the woman on reception didn’t even look or acknowledge me for a few minutes while I stood waiting for help. The first day there the young man on reception didn’t put two words together when were signing in. In all, I’ve come to the conclusion these people don’t really give two hoots about their customers.

Helpful and efficient staff.
Cabin was in good condition and clean.
Amenities were extensive.

Wow. Great park. So clean and tidy. Check out the amenities photo. They have a perfect areas for kids too. Jumping pillow and fairy lighted playground (see photo). Lots of drive thru sites too. Big tick. Friendly reception. Imagine what else I could have said if I had more time to wander around. Thank you.

We stayed in a studio cabin.bed in the main room and an ensuite bathroom. It was very clean and well maintained.it had recently been updated inside and was very nice. The split system warmed it up quickly. Bed was comfy. Reception was very helpful for whatever we needed. Would definitely stay again

A caravan park at Lake Hume cancelled our booking for 66 people just days out of our arrival. The Gold Nugget Tourist Park moved mountains to accommodate us, supplied their terrific function center, helped us arrange catering and gave us a great final night! 21 cabins and even brought their own caravan down for extra accommodation! We were stoked, thanks Gold Nugget!
