Gold Mines Hotel reviews
69Absolutely amazing food here well worth the money had a burger. It was the best burger I’ve ever had.
Gold Mines Hotel deserves all the stars for their wonderful service, delicious food, and cosy atmosphere. A must visit for anyone in the area. Staff are attentive and helpful, and we’re happy to answer our 100 questions about the menu. Location is beautiful and the building has been restored lovingly. Food was delicious and serving sizes were generous. The focaccia was fresh and large enough to feed a small army. The eggplant was flavoursome and fresh. The scallops were delicious - and this is coming from someone who usually doesn’t like scallops. The duck was tasty and well cooked. The fish was rich with flavour. The pistachio dessert was complex and refreshing. Will definitely visit again
Nice open outdoor areas. Good menu and meals that are a good size. Staff were attentive but not in your space. Overall a great afternoon.
Excellent, fantastic location and lovely atmosphere. You can eat inside or in their courtyard which is well shaded and is surrounded by gardens. Impressive service and great choice of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The Ginger Ninja mock tail tastes fantastic. Great food choices, from lighter starters or share plates through to entrees and good sized mains and of course desert. I had crispy eggplant bao buns and they were to die for. Veg and meat options within every course. Enjoy! It's across from the Victoria Hill gardens and old mine works which is a great little spot to walk through. Contains a complete old mine battery and poppet head nearby.
Excellent service and delightful food beautifully presented. All credit to owners restoring heritage hotel.
What a great lunch - we were sitting outside under big umbrellas in the rain, and the staff couldn’t do enough. Big shout out to Louisa for wonderful table service. Food was delicious, particularly the Napoleon dessert.
Love the charm of this place - take a slow walk through through the entrance as the art is amazing - and yes the food and service just as charming.
This place is stunning. I love the building and the history. Great sitting out the back in the garden on a sunny afternoon:)
We had lunch at Gold Mines today, and it was wonderful. The food was delicious, but the best part was how kind and considerate our waitress was. We haven't been out a lot since having our baby as it's always hard to know if she will get upset, or make a mess, etc. Our waitress today welcomed our baby, coaxed a smile out of her, and then returned her waves for the rest of lunch. She organised salt free chips for the baby, told us about her own kids to put us at ease, and in a quiet moment even came over to distract the baby for a bit so we had time to eat.
Our waitress also took my dietary requirements seriously, checked ingredients for me, and even asked for a new plate when cheese was accidentally put on my side salad against my request, saving me having to send it back myself. It's always such a relief when wait staff actually listen to me about what I can and can't have.
Overall, the waitress was just so friendly and great, and made the experience fun and relaxing for us, which isn't always easy with a baby! We don't know your name, but thank you!
Great food in a lovingly restored, renovated and maintained historical building. The garden was closed as it was the height of winter but I look forward to returning in finer weather as it looks wonderful. Good, extensive drinks list, attentive staff and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.
Had a scrumptious lunch with the family today'
Excellent service, atmosphere, with friendly obviously experienced staff'
We have had some terrible experience's eating out in Bendigo area'
We will definitely be back!
One of the best parmas I've ever had and they were super helpful with assisting me getting the change table ready for my baby
Awsome service and meals were brought out promptly huge selection of craft beers, the Gold Mines Hotel has been on the bucket to do list for a while as it's beer garden is one of the best in Victoria, hopefully get back and check it out during the day some stage, couldn't knock the joint we were pretty happy and even gave a tip thanks again to all staff
Beautiful food, stunning scenery for friend's wedding and the service was just impeccable. Staff were super friendly!
Fantastic lunch today. The staff and service make this pub a stand out! All our meals were delicious.
We had a lovely dinner here on Friday night. Unfortunately we had no room left for a dessert. Next time.
Great food and really attentivestaff. Also reasonable prices. Second visit, gets better each time.
Super friendly staff and great ambience. We sat outside in the garden. Food was really nice and drinks as well. Plenty of parking across the road. Food is not that cheap but still worth for the money paid. Had a great experience. Keep it up team.
Yep.can't fault this place in ANY way. Possibly the best pub in the world.my friends are jealous we went without them after hearing about it and seeing my photos.if you're reading this and wondering if it's worth going to.it IS! GO.
Great service. Food good but not great. I had the lamb, others on my table had steak, porterhouse, which was very good. Value - 8/10. Enormous beer selection and a very good local wine list.
