GOGYO Fitzroy reviews
57Wandered past here the other night and decided to pop in for dinner. This place is in the old Brother Burger site. Really nice fitout and was very busy for a Tuesday night. Lots of couples and small groups. Food was very good. Had the scampi nigiri as a starter and that didn't disappoint. Wife had the chilly shoyu ramen (which did pack a bit of heat), while I had the pork katsu curry. Ramen was good and so was the curry, however I think the crumb around the pork could have been better. Would definitely return to explore the menu
Gogyo should be on the top of ramen places if you're looking for a place to sip a bowl of ramen and take your time. We were sitting on the bar table where you can see the chefs cooking.
I ordered the Kagashi Miso, which is the black charred miso ramen. The flavour is umami and leaves a bitter aftertaste. The chicken karage is
I would come back for their chicken karage curry and the original tonkotsu ramen.
Delicious Ramen, must try the burnt miso broth! Karage was the crunchiest and best I've ever had. Really nice dining experience I'll definitely be back.
Atmosphere was lovely - food was yummy. Not a plethora of vego options but it's ramen so it's not like that was unexpected
Good so far. Had the original in Japan and there is room for improvement to the ramen here. However portion size is bigger.
The dessert was to die for! The Macha kuzuneri was heavenly, it had a tofu type texture with amazing taste. Would come back again for that
Remember to book for place
I have been to their surrey Hills location and the quality is much the same.
Travelling by tram is easy, finding location was no problem. Signage is brilliant.
Wait time was minimal for lunch, it is recommended to book ahead for tables.
I has the Kagashi miso ramen, the very reason I came here. Charred ramen is a very unique and delicious dish!
I will come back again, and look forward to enjoying it with friends!
Gogyo sydney is my most favourite ramen shop in Australia and I’m so happy that they open another shop in Melbourne aswell! First of all, the interior is stunning. Food and service was great but I think they can be better just need more time to developed. Will definitely come back!
My word, what a dining spot.
(To my knowledge,) the only Kogashi Ramen joint in Melbourne.
Flavour bomb ramen, like nothing else, you could not be disappointed!
The kingfish carpaccio is also amazing.
A must try and a welcomed addition to this city's food scene!
Food and service is good nothing to fault, however the prices were on the steep side for me. I will 100% be back, but only for special occasions.
My first visit to Gogyo and the host Alvin and staff, made us feel most welcome. We shared Goyzu which was delightful and had a very tasty dipping sauce. I then ordered the Wagyu Tataki, and it was so tender, juicy, and visually pleasing. The side of Rock potatoes with a delicous white finishing sauce, had me thinking about the next visit.yum yum yum
11/10. Incredible food in an amazing atmosphere. Wanna look bougie? Impress your first date by bringing them here and experiencing the flavour explosion that is Gogyo.
The food is a little to strong for me, flavour wise at gogoyo. Service is perfect no faults there and atmosphere is wonderful. Personally prefer ippudo more.
Food was great, we had the gyoza and ramen. The signature ramen was especially tasty, but must say it was a bit salty by the end. In saying that, it was delicious and so flavourful, Id definitely have it again! Although service was friendly, they could have been a bit more prompt and on point.probably just some kinks to iron out since they are new.
Fantastic atmosphere and style. Vegan ramen dish had too much (raw) onion for my taste, otherwise nice food!
Can highly recommend Fitzroy’s newest Japanese offering.
- Pan charred Edamame & Tonkatsu Ramen were both excellent.
- Service was attentive & kind
- Fit-out was sleek. Beautiful timbers with dark finishes
One of the best ramen restaurants! Loved the curry as well. Friendly yet professional customer service!
