Great school. The school has employed a new learning model which, frankly, is working quite well.

The students are aggressive and competitive and are eager and hungry for grades, a good environment for passive learning.an improvement would be to have the school end at 4 or 5 pm and there needs to be more students

Dumb jacket rule. Cares more about how clean the inside is instead of the environment. Need more canteens as people like me have to waste half of lunch time lining up for food, overpriced as well.

It was a very important meeting to discuss about the subject selection for VCE subjects for my daughter.both me and my wife left work early as it's about the future of our daughter.but it turned out to be a let down one way communication by an unprofessional PE teacher.

The meeting started 40 mins late and while we were waiting, other students said "good luck with that teacher. ". Apparently that teacher is famous for being sarcastic.

The discussion started with my daughters performance and followed by discouragement to shatter my daughter's dreams to follow a subject stream. We (parents) kept asking what she would recommend but she could only say "NO" and was very uncomfortable in suggesting any ideas. Teachers are supposed to help students to achieve their dream but this particular teacher was sarcastic and was not listening to us (parents) and was only addressing my daughter in an unprofessional way.

The school could have just sent an email with the decision rather than letting us meet this unprofessional teacher and all the disappointments which followed it. This would have saved the devastation and allowed us to make our decision with a better mindset.

I wonder how such teachers communicate to children and how much damage they must be causing to our children. The saddest part is that we won't really know such things unless we interact with the teachers at this level.eventually it would be too late. The teacher clearly did not know how to effectively communicate but attempted strong arming instead.this was a very uncomfortable discussion and we had to leave with great disappointment.

Feeling devastated, I (father) went back to convey the disappointment but that conversation was interrupted by another male teacher who showed not much difference. He doesn't even nod or show any expressions which makes you feel like talking to yourself.

GWSC was highly regarded but these type of poor quality teachers really makes you wonder whether we paved the way for our children not to achieve their dreams. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

From what ive heard, the teachers, and ESPECIALLY the principle seem to use their 'authority' and 'power' to single out students when matters arise. It seems that they also have a very bias view when it comes to sorting matters out taking the side of the more favourable student. It use to be such a great school, but not it looks like the principle is ruining the name of the school. If you want your children to have a good high school exprerience, please take them ELSEWHERE.

The rating of this school would be based on a normal distribution. Those who achieved well would give 5 stars. So looks like an average of 3.8 is pretty good!

Good tradition. Potent students. High score. Probably best public high school in Melbourne. BUT, school policies are foolish even doubtful. The school enforces students to buy specific iPAD models. No other tablets are allowed. No discount. Hundreds of students should buy it every year. Recommend to use clear bottle. For what? Strange, unreasonable, doubtful policies are decreasing the school's fame. Shame.

Studied here from 1999-2004, couldn't have been happier. Received outstanding results, and grew so much as a person due to the environment and teaching staff. Students are diverse and intelligent, and curriculum is cutting edge.

Terrible terrible school! They called me to sway me into paying the "optional" donations. The teachers there either don't bother saying a single word in the entire class or the few "good" ones read out out of the textbook word for word (thanks but the students can do that at home). The so called teachers clearly care more about getting money than the education of the students. Please don't bother getting a house in the school zone; it's not worth it.

Awful school. Teachers spend more time complaining about how tired they are then actually teaching. English teacher never teaches and ever marks essays.the only thing good about that school is its students.

Definitely agree with doubtful policies as someone mentioned. Forcing students to purchase many useless items without specifying any convincing reasons behind them. (Obvious enough the school is just exploiting students and their parents)
