33Wonderful day and great place to celebrate! The wine tasting was extremely informative, but more importantly delicious. Our meal was wonderful, they catered to the vegetarians at the table (no pumpkin pasta, which seems to be the only option on other set menus) creating a wonderful menu of salads and special dips- perfect. The entire restaurant is gorgeous and has a great festive feel. Thanks to the staff for making it a great day.
Cheese platter was extremely plain cheese was delicious.pizzas tasted good but the dough needs to be thicker.enjoyed the beer.bit pricey overall good
Enjoyed a mid-day wine tasting and lunch at Giant Steps. Staff was incredibly knowledgable about the region and the grape varietals. Not a chardonnay fan, but they do a great job. To be honest, the food was average, but the ambiance, wine, and staff made it a great experience.
For such a large building, the restaurant was warm and cozy. The wait staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The food - amazing! We shared the fish tacos, arancini balls, Bbq Broccoli and the Lamb Soulder for 2. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed full of flavour. Accompanied by their own wine (a Syrah) matched perfectly. We will definitely visit again!
Never have I been treated so kindly and with so much understanding. The waiter was incredibly accommodating, recommended a selection of vegan wines, and even offered to see about getting a vegan dessert custom-made for my new fiancée and I.
We had some incredible food here and even went back the next day for coffee! I adored Giant Steps and, if you are a vegan looking for fine-dining in Yarra Valley, I definitely recommend that you give this spot a try.
Giant Steps was a wonderful place to celebrate our new engagement.
Throughly enjoyed the resturaunt. Came here by chance as next door was booked full. All foods were good in quality and served in decent time. Staff were friendly enough given how busy it was. The wine was great, even the cheaper pinots were tasty. Would recommend
A great casual place to enjoy a wine tasting. There is a sleek industrial feel (glass and steel) nicely contrasted with earthy timber and leather couches. We enjoyed a cheese plate and a range of pinot noirs. I love that it is named after one of my favourite John Coltrane tracks.
Everything was so on point. Service was friendly and professional, enjoyed everything we ate, and loved the accommodating and relaxed atmosphere.
We had an impromptu dinner at Giant Steps. The manager is incredibly engaging and knew his stuff. The food is fresh and tasty and the wines match well, he allowed half glasses so we could try more of the range.you couldn’t ask for more than that!
Today was the second time we have taken an adult student group from Hawthorn language centre to Giant Steps, and we will certainly be returning again soon. We were there for a wine tasting and the staff today were fantastic and extremely welcoming - many thanks!
Ordered a cappuccino and a chi latte both were luke warm and flavourless. At $4.50 each I would expect better. There were two other people at the restaurant so they were not too busy to make a half decent coffee.
Honest food that’s fresh, tasty and without being complicated. The service was terrific. The decor was cool with the cellar behind the restaurant which gives this industrial ambiance.
Not impressed. Try to find parking on the weekend, when you finally get one they tell you it's all booked due to a large function. How about putting something on the door to advise prospective customers?
