Genesis Health and Fitness Box Hill South 24/7

Been trying to cancel my membership due to relocation. Genesis fitness website says cancellation can be completed through an online form, it even specifically directs you to a link. This form, plenty of emails and a mailed letter is apparently not good enough. Still taking my money months later. What a joke.

I’ve been a member since 2017. I have really loved Coaching Zone sessions with Mikey, Pat, Hope and Oli (when he gets to coach). But especially love Hope’s body burner sessions on Thursday mornings. Coaches know their stuff and push you to the best of your ability. Staff are also super friendly and helpful.

I have been a member at Genesis Box Hill for the last 4 years and I’ve been apart of the coaching zone for 1 year.

The coach’s at the gym are very friendly and have helped me meet my fitness goals within a short amount of time.

Not only do they offer advice but also their friendship. I feel apart of a big family as soon as I enter my session.

Pat and Hope have helped me with my struggle with understanding of nutrition and technique.

Pat is kind and always hyping me up during the sessions. Staying positive but also pushing me!

Hope challenges me to my full potential, each session is extreme hard with her but I love it!

I highly recommend joining Coaching Zone at Genesis Box Hill South! The classes are great and the trainers push you to get the most out of your workout. I’ve been training with Mikey since 2016, and he has been great at helping me achieve my health and fitness goals, as well as helping me rehab after injuries.

Genesis Box Hill is awesome! I've been coming to this gym now for over 4 years and can highly recommend it. I have been to other gyms in the past but haven't looked back since coming here. It's such great value and has a fun atmosphere. I've always had excellent service from all the staff who are all so friendly and encouraging, especially Oli! I love coming here. There are lots of great classes to choose from. I especially love the the zone classes where the coaches challenge and encourage you individually. Big shout out to coaches Mikey, Pat, and Hope, who really know their stuff. I am the fittest I've ever been and feel great!

Impossible to cancel your membership. Expect to be ripped off.

Wife and I joined in 2021 Jun before the Melbourne lockdowns. Between us, we had < 10 sessions, but elected to keep our membership. Supporting local businesses and all.

We decided to cancel our membership end of Dec last year. Mine took 2 months to cancel after I sent emails, phone calls, registered mail, finally a visit in person.

They are still direct debiting us for wife's membership despite confirming in writing her membership has ended. We're going to try contacting Consumer Affairs Victoria and our banks to see what they can do.

Based on other reviews, looks like ongoing direct debit is common with this gym.

Best you stay clear!

I am fairly new to Genesis Box Hill & I have been very impressed since the first time I stepped foot in the facility. The staff are so friendly & helpful In particular Dave who I found to be very professional, welcoming & took away the uncomfortableness of walking into a new gym. He made me see it was an investment in me & my health & I have not looked back. Dave is also very encouraging every time i see him at the gym.
The facility itself has every machine I could possibly need or want & along with the selection of classes I am feeling I am well on my way to achieving my goals in health & fitness & have not felt better! Thank you Dave & Genesis Box Hill.

I first started at Genesis Box Hill South in around 2014/2015 as a PT client of Mikey’s, then became one of the first Zone members… it’s no exaggeration when I say it completely changed my life! All the staff are incredible and it’s such a warm, fun, professional, and accepting environment. Mikey is an exceptional coach, with such positive energy levels and a great knowledge of how to train you to suit your own individual health & physical needs. Hands down the best gym and coaches!

Best gym!
I have been going in Genesis from last three years. It’s a very big gym with all the equipments. I have also done the 45 minutes coaching zone sessions and they’re really awesome. I’ve got results what i desired. The trainers are really good and friendly. They also give very good and helpful advice.
Oli is very knowledgeable and always gives motivation to go beyond my level.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get in shape. The trainers are awesome and helpful and they make you feel really comfortable no matter what fitness level your at. The 45 min zone training goes super fast and you really enjoy doing it. Everyday is a new training, so it is never boring. I love Mikey’s energy levels & he always knows what exercises will suit me, but pushes me at the same time.

Awesome gym - I have been going there for over 5 years and do Coaching Zone daily. It is a nice big open gym with great equipment and facilities. Coaching Zone is super fun and high energy. It is a mix of cardio and strength training which the coaches tailor to your own needs and goals. It is great to not have to plan your own workout and constantly mix it up. All the coaches are terrific - but of course Mikey is the best!

Absolutely love the team here. I go to zone everyday and all members support and push me to achieve my best.

Hope Mayne a killer of a coach. She is so supportive and makes sure to check in on progress and goals.

I am a coaching zone member at Genesis Box Hill for more than 3 years. It’s very spacious, clean and the coaches are very friendly and helpful.
Especially Mikey’s sessions are filled with great energy and motivation. He is the best coach I have ever found so far. I try my best not to miss his sessions because it’s definitely worth it! Plenty of classes to choose from according to your preferences. I definitely can’t forget mentioning the separate ladies zone which is my perfect spot there.
If I am ever gonna relocate I am going to miss this place and my hardworking coaches for sure
I’ve always recommended this place to my friends and will definitely do again without a second thought.

I have been with Genesis for several years. I go because I love the coaching zone.

I moved interstate and have been trying to cancel my membership for a year now. I went in person but was told I needed the signature of my partner as she is also on the membership. I took the paperwork with me, then sent it to them. They claimed they never received it and then stopped answering my emails. I tried calling but could never get anyone. I emailed again a while later and still no response. Now I have debt collectors chasing me for a service I cannot use and cannot cancel. Looking through the reviews it seems like this is pretty standard for this gym. Would give negative stars is possible after this run around. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!

The steam room is never hot enough, the disinfectant sprays are often empty and half the lockers are broken but it's cheap and a lot is included in membership!

I liked the service initially for the price but was constantly seeing less equipment. Had to personally call them and check for lockdown updates…. Got deducted fees even when the gym was closed. To top it all they never mention about the cancellation policy and the notice period. Happy to leave

They wait to reply to cancelled membership requests until offices and payments commence so you have to pay for a service you don't want. Very sneaky and dirty business practices.

Fantastic New changerooms.and new steam room. Since I joined this gym it has had so many improvements highly recommend and is less than 1/2 the price of anywhere else and is huge!

Okay for the price. Most of the cardio equipment is either out of order or on its way to be. They have a lot of machines which is good but not a lot of floor space.
There classes are always pretty decent
You definitely get for what you pay for
