The phone call for enquiries was not answered by anyone. Another issue with the dedication is that even when I have money in my bank account, they still charge an additional $10.

Overall good experience and a well rounded gym, only down side is the very bad smelling soap and hand sanitizer, it smells like poop and I'd love to have a nice smelling soap after my workout.

Really enjoying the gym, the coach zone and reformer classes are seeing amazing things happen! Ioads of equipment & classes!

Genesis Box Hill is an amazing Gym! The staff are super friendly, always helpful and highly accommodating. The facilities are great with a wide range of different equipment. The classes and group fitness sessions are highly enjoyable and highly motivating as the staff and other members are all dedicated to helping each other succeed. The female only area is a great to build skills and train without there being too many people and distractions around. Overall for the affordable prices and the sense of community, Genesis is the best in the business!

Good local gym, friendly community and equipments are cleaned and maintained with reasonable standard. Repairs are understandably taken care of. Thanks Genesis!

A 24/7 gym, one of the cheapest gym.signed up at $14.95/week for 2 person. One person is $9.95 per week. There are many workout machines you need. They even have female only gym areas. Classes available at selected times. Friendly staffs. What else can I ask for! Highly recommended.

This is by far the best gym I have been to, and I have been to many! All the staff are so friendly and caring. Thanks you for helping me achieve my goals:)

This is a pretty good gym. It's big, has lots of equipment, a range of programs and classes and decent facilities. The down side is that a lot of the equipment is starting to show its age and needs updating, fixing or replacement. The staff are nice enough but they basically don't interact with you unless there's a specific need (noting I don't partake of classes or fitness programs so I can't directly comment on that aspect). Can't argue with the value - my son and I share a membership for about $14 per week.

Had the same membership experience as every other low rating is talking about during COVID. Would not let me cancel, continually charged me and wouldn't answer calls or emails. Still irritates to me this day hence the late posting!

Edit as I can't reply: Lucas, we had a fair bit of back in forth back in April 2020, as well as June 2020, and then November 2020. I was an add-on to another membership, hence why my details are probably not showing up. With all due respect, there is no need to provide an acceptable outcome to me as I won't be returning.

I cancelled my membership in early November 2022 and I was assured that direct debit will be seized after a month (in line with the contract termination terms). However, two months later Genesis Boxhill is still charging me money fortnight via direct debit despite sending them number of emails about this - they have not responded or taken any action. Extremely disappointed with the service.

Dodgy business with bang average gyms and extremely poor customer service.

Asked them to cancel my membership 30 days ago. No response. Today they say they’ll cancel it and stop charging me in 30 days time. That’s almost $100 they’ve charged me, beyond when I wanted to stop.

Hope the $100 was worth it for the reputation damage.

Didn't expect to be a gym person, however have been doing coaching zone since June and have to say it's awesome. The coaches are brilliant, the gym is well equipped with a great variety of equipment, the amenities are modern, but it's the staff that make it an exceptional experience. Thank you.

Because I want to move to another area, I cancel my membership card here today. The male waiter at the front desk is really bad, I will not come to this company in the future. He is targeted bad to me. And the male waiter if your parents didn't teach you how to behave, please go back to study and then come out to work ok？？？I'm ashamed of you.

Tried to cancel due to moving and got put through hoops and continued to be charged for months after we requested cancellation. Sent letters and emails then called three times and was told the person who could cancel our account was not in and they would call us back. Never heard from them. Had to stop the payments via our bank in the end and then got chased by debt collectors who finally saw sense after I messaged them directly. Nightmare.

Facilities were generally clean. Did not get any assistance from staff. When trying to cancel my membership after moving per 2 hours away, it took weeks for my phone call to be answered. Only to be told the incorrect information. I paid months of membership fees when unable to attend or get assistance.

Worse customer service ever, wouldn’t let me cancelled membership during covid only in person but they were shut
l tried canceling by email but they wouldn’t allow it two years on they are still trying to get money out of me for a service they were unable to provide.
They wouldn’t even answer the phone during covid so l don’t know how your supposed to cancel membership when you can’t get in contact with them.
I Have kept all my emails and phone logs to them
So bring on legal action
So sick of be bombarded with threats
You should never be charged for a service you can’t attend and in this day and age be able to cancel by phone or email not in person

I have been a member for Genesis Box Hill for over 5 years and is hands down the best fitness club I have been to. Friendly staff who are always willing to show you correct technique to prevent injury. Equipment is state of the art, abundant and clean. Dave and the team have been very extremely helpful over the last 18+ months and kept me sane during lockdown with online classes. Great to be back working on cardio and pumping iron and seeing the friendly staff.
