Personally love this gym, been here since a year and never regret the decision. A great gym at a good price!

Machines never get fixed, missing equipment never gets replaced.
Staff just give you some excuse rather than a resolution.
Spoke to a staff member whilst one was there, filled out the online form a few times, nobody ever replied.
Went to get a refund under ACL code 55, they said they'd refund X amount but did not and there's "nothing they can do about it".
Worst gym I've been to, join a jetts/anytime/goodlife instead. All Genesis have got going for them is a big building.

Wanted to explore and try out a new facility so I was fairly interested in Genesis located in Berwick and wanted to see what it would be like to work out there.
I signed up for a 5-day free trial pass and the 1st day was quite a disappointment. Customer service and professionalism wasn't great. The staff when I walked in just looked at me like who are you and just said yeah when I said I signed up for a pass. I expected a more enthusiastic welcoming to the facility, as a newcomer and just stood there watching as the guy was getting picked by other staff asking questions and after 5mins did he decide to do a quick tour for me after giving me an iPad to sign the agreement form.
After all that it was just touch and go and I decided to try some of the equipment and you can tell it is quite rusty and dusty, and it's not maintained that well all the weight labels on the equipment are peeled off and on the dumbbell towers there all mismatched everywhere. As a current member of Jett's in comparison it was a big difference.
I was intrigued by the lady's gym but was surprised to see how small it was with 3 treadmills perched in the corner and a few machines and that's it. I thought it would be a little grander but was quite small.
All in all, despite the building being bigger and having extra equipment around and classes etc.what there charging weekly for a membership is not really worth the extra 15min commute to this facility.

I realized after each day I went to the gym I was getting messages asking how it went do I want to join over like 3 times. On my final day of my pass, I was told that I could get a 25% discount or extra 10 days free trial everyone kept telling me different things. Also, was roasted as to what is taking me so long to join, there seemed to be quite some pressure in committing to a membership there? But I was not committed and struggled to find the words to that. For the last day of my trial, I left the facility and yeah, the staff didn't even say anything as if I wasn't there.

But hey I better off stick to my Jett's gym in Hallam, I had hopes but was let down by the lack of professionalism and customer service by the staff that not equipped to be at the desk. Hopefully for others who go around it will be a better experience!

Sorry Peeps just didn't work for me!

I think his name is Jordan, But the guy at the front desk is an absolute legend. Love how friendly he is and always ready to help you if you need it! Would highly recommend this place, Its awesome:)

Me and my wife just signed up to the gym! The guy was very kind and nice. However, the lady at the front desk is very rude when asked for help. Acts as if it’s a crime to seek help as a first timer to Genesis. We were always with virgin active and never had this issue. Need a better customer support. Not a pleasant experience. Cancelling the memberships

The Gym is running offers like 28 days free trial. Obviously its a marketing campaign.however they deduct money from your account even after you cancel your membership before 28 days.

I will share my experience, my 28 day adventure commenced on 17th Jan 2023 and i cancelled my membership on 04th Feb 2023. They deducted payment from me on 07th Feb 2023. I had to go to the Gym and the office bearers apologised and assured that it was a mistake in their system. To till date they haven't reimbursed the amount deducted from my account. Please be aware of this.

The coaching zone sessions are good and hence i am rating them 2.

Beware, dishonest corporation. Contracts set up in a way to scam customers. Told them up front that I wanted to join the gym temporarily and would leave anytime. The rep advertised their contract as a week to week contract which I paid a high premium for, went and cancel the contract few months later and was told that I need to give a 30 days notice for my week to week contract and proceed to charge me a cancellation fee for the full 30 days. A gym that falsely advertises their program and punishes loyal customers that pays on time is not a gym worth joining.

Add on:
Owners comment on standard practice, ACCC, 2500 locals that love us, bla bla bla.you are missing the point, your sales person who is the face of your gym is not acting out of good faith/customer's best interest and it leaves a bad taste when customers find out afterwards. Sure, you can hide behind your T&Cs when people complain but maybe just a little empathy and not suggesting a product that is clearly not suitable for a customer could go a long way as well.

What's a 30 day cancelation notice doing in a week to week contract anyways? Other than to squeeze the last bit of profit out of customers?

Went in and wait 15 minutes at the front desk not 1 staff member in site, not a great experience and will go elsewhere

Was there yesterday and trained. Lockers still the same! Membership money still getting paid, yet the simple things don't get attended to! Otherwise! Great gym to train at!

With what is on offer, still 5 worthy, but lacking clean fans full of dust and I am allergic to dust. Broken lockers with a lock that has been there for atleast 3 months or more still restricting other members having access when other lockers are being used.
Ideally situated in the heart of Berwick with ample room throughout gym facilities.
Getting back to the gym and getting healthier and fitter is more important than costs! Stay tuned and I'll be posting more photos and details of what great things that's available here!
It was absolutely great to be back training, staff are friendly and professional with any enquiries relating to nutritional products and services. The NUTRICS shop was open and staff available to help with any information that I needed. Check out relevant information on the photos and website also displayed.

I don’t usually write reviews but this has to be said, Genesis Gym is the WORST!
This business is all about screwing over anyone that signs up. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH GENESIS! Lockdown wasn’t easy for anyone but Genesis knew how to make it more difficult by taking everyone’s money while people couldn’t legally goto the gym. When addressing this scam move, they stop all contact with clients and threaten to take legal action! Biggest mess and waste of time. Don’t get involved with these Con artists.

Unfortunately unprofessional staff rude with there costumers.

My self was a member along with my partner and since because of there rude staff and not helping and not listen rude behaviour we decided to cancel our membership,

Since 10 march 22 we have been requested for cancelling our membership and we have been visited many time and submitted the camplain for not been cancel our membership, it's been 4 months they still have access in my credit card and still every week they deduct weekly amount. Very soon I'm going to report to the police for fraud and misleading people's credit card.

Genesis Gym is the BIGGEST SCAM! Worst business I have ever dealt with, absolute scums. Myself and so many others I have spoken to have been ripped off and ignored. They can’t deal with their own clients so send debt collectors to deal with their mess.
Taking money from everyone during lockdown and even when we legally weren’t allowed in the gym, they took everyone’s money!
Don’t bother ringing them to talk to anyone because they will not pick up their phone and will lock you out of the building when you need the front desk. Genesis you are a JOKE!

This gym provides a large selection of equipment, however, a lot of equipment is damaged and not repaired for months. For the high cost of membership compared to other gyms, you'd expect equipment to be atleast maintained more frequently.

Genesis Berwick was subtly charging customers during covid suspension periods. Instead of asking customers to be charged to support the club they instead decided to continue charging customers and were probably banking on customers not realising to opt out of paying for suspended services. Sneaky sneaky. I'm out and a word of caution for those who leave, continue checking your bank accounts for any unauthorised charges by genesis even after cancelling your membership I've had a few and looking at other reviews, this club is notorious for not doing due diligence by their customers.

Good gym. Has a men's and women's weight room but you find 90% of women in the men's weight room which makes it very busy. Don't go just after morning school drop off.
