Gami Chicken & Beer reviews
57Ordered 2 half boneless chickens and both came out with no slaw and the chicken was horrible. Eaten gami from other stores no problem. Wife ordered a burger and wad over cooked with old slaw. Disappointing
Absalute garbage this could quit possibly be the worst food I've eaten at a takeaway play in years it was the biggest waste of 80 dollars I've ever spent everything was soggy tasted like rubber we couldn't even finish it. Would not recommend anyone ever goes here fuking disappointing
Pretty disappointing experience dining here tonight.
My mate and I both ordered the half chicken (which includes 2 sides + sauce). When the waitress brought our chicken with nothing else, we asked about the sauces. She questioned us as if we’d never originally ordered them, despite both telling what we wanted upon placing the order. She brought these back for us but then we had to ask why the 2 sides had not been included. Once again she asked if we wanted these as if they’re not already meant to be included. Upon returning she only brought 1 coleslaw and after I asked where the other one was she replied “Oh, do you want one too? ” Perhaps she was new so I quietly explained that the meals we ordered are actually both meant to include these sides and a sauce. After finally being given a coleslaw each we then had to ask for knives and forks! It really did feel as though the staff were having a major off-night.
The food quality was lovely, but it shouldn’t be the customer’s responsibility to educate staff on the menu.
Nice venue, very friendly staff and good food. The chips are great and so is the fried chicken. The muscat is must try among the non alcoholic drinks.
The customer service at this place is outstanding, sweetest staff every single time, even when busy i feel personally catered for
I can only review the Chips and the Boneless chicken because that’s all I’ve had, it is absolutely sensational moist and delicious! Chips are crispy, need I say more! Staff are friendly
Had the katsu Chicken Burger, the chicken burger and bugogi. Half katsu in the burger was burned to black. Sauce was average. The only highlight is the chips. Service is acceptable but the quality of the food is below average. We only finished the chips.
Stopped by for lunch on New year's Eve whilst shopping at Eastland, food was excellent, service was also great
Very slow service, owner has so much attitude, I have waited 25 minutes still my food is not ready.
Revised Review:
Since the new owners have taken over, the quality has steadily been slipping. We frequent regularly and have noticed the changes over time.
The chicken portions have decreased significantly. The latest order of chicken was so dry, I almost suspected that the chicken had been cooked twice.
It really is a shame as the previous owners were very consistent and maintained excellent standards.
If you were to peer into the kitchen right now, you'll see that the kitchen has been neglected. The fryers are dirty with dark oil stains all over the unit. The grill looks like it has never been cleaned. The kitchen used to be spotless with the previous owners. Even just looking into the workspace from the counter, there are boxes everywhere, looking very disorganised.
Original Review:
Great chicken. Consistent every time we've visited.
I eat at Gami Eastlands atleast once a week.
I had the new Corndue item on the menu last night. It was really fun and tasty! But I couldn't help but notice how it felt like a safety hazard sitting in front of me, the cast iron serving plate got extremely hot and continued to stay that way well after I finished my meal and I did lightly burn myself when I accidentally brushed against it.
Fun novelty menu item but very hazardous.
So I have been going to Gami in Eastland for a fair while now to the point I would consider myself a regular, as it is weekly that I go with some friends. I love the Chicken burger in particular the most, the sauce that Gami does with the burger is incredible!
However I wanted to write this review in regards to the Chicken Corndue Special that was released. To me, whilst the flavour was there with the cheese, although it took a fair amount of time for the cheese to reach the point of being dip-able as described, it was the safety that concerned me. I accidently touched the side of the Cast Iron plate that was infront of me for the Corndue and still have a mark a few hours after. Whilst it did not hurt me badly at the time, this to me can lead to a major safety issue. The fact that the entire thing is red hot, WITH a gas burner under it due to the cheese not being in the melted "liquid" state, it never stops being red hot. Whilst I enjoyed the taste, though that likely comes back to the chicken, I would not order it again due to the concerns for safety. I would not feel comfortable having anyone younger than an adult at the table with me with this order.
Half a container of sauce for 12 wings?
Japchae was badly cooked, look awful and tasted sour
Food came after half an hour, long hair was in the chicken they apologise and exchanged for us
half boneless chicken which approximately not more that quarter they cut into a very little pieces covered with a thick layer of batter, forgot to serve me my side i had to go and ask where is the side and she said what side ohhh sorry will bring you one, my husband ordered seafool noodles calamari was under cooked and it was not nice at all
Great customer service from Hudson!
What a fantastic attitude and made us feel very welcome.
Would come back here again just for his service!
Great food everytime, it's our new favourite place to eat! Customer service is always great, Albert is very friendly.
Had a whole chicken with sweet chilly sauce 3days ago. It's beautiful combination having Korean style chicken with bear!
I have always been a huge fan of Gami. Their fried chicken is the best! But yesterday at Eastland we ordered the boneless whole chicken and got one tiny piece of breast meat in the whole serving. Not cool! Hopefully just a one off but you need to be consistent guys. If I buy a ‘whole chicken’ I expect to also get the breast. I will be back and hopefully this does not happen again.
I tried boneless chicken in their Glenferrie road branch. Honestly, I was regretting why I haven’t had my meal at KFC! The fried chicken was really dry and tasteless, the oil was smelly and the customer service was not that great. Won’t come back again.
Staff refused to let me split payment, going so far as to deny us sitting on separate tables (group of 10!)
