Think it’s a requirement to be actively rude to work here. After asking for my eggs to be done on both sides (I have the egg ick) and them bringing them out stone dry, I apologised and said that I meant that I’d like the yolk still runny but white part not snotty (if you know you know), the guy waiter rolled his eyes and took my plate away? I was super apologetic as I thought it probably wasn’t explained the best on my side. I then saw him talking about me to another member of staff, rolling his eyes and pointing which made me uncomfortable. After he brought the eggs and I said thank you, he walked off without saying anything. Didn’t realise my preference in eggs personally affected you but okay. We then said thanks for the brunch, it was super yummy etc as we were paying and the staff at the till didn’t smile and just said “yeah…”. Very weird vibes. Such a shame because all the other food was delicious and the interior of the place was super cool.

There's nothing I don't love about this place, from their all day breakfast to their prices and friendly staff. I think what keeps me coming back is that they cater for kids exceptionally well, ranging from cereal to bacon and eggs.

The prices are very fair and reasonable, they don't over complicate the menu but yet the variety of food caters to everyone's tastes. Centrally located within walking distance to Luna Park or the Sunday markets makes for a great start to your Saturday or Sunday morning.

Great cafe. Used to go there years ago and revisited recently. Waiters so helpful and nice and food excellent. When a place brings out a full bottle of maple syrup for your pancakes you just know things are good.

This place has been here for decades and I don’t think they have put their prices up for about ten years! Excellent value compared to most places, cooked breakfasts $17 each. It’s not glamorous but hearty and as described. The service is excellent and it has a casual retro vibe.

Been In Melbourne for 3 days. First negative interaction I’ve had in this beautiful city. There is 11 of us wanting to sit down and eat. We where approached by a staff member who was immediate rude and sassy and offered no help in trying to find us a table just only replying with a wave of the finger and saying not happening today goodbye. Felt very embarrassed and disrespected aight the service from the first interaction. Very disappointed and hope this is handle accordingly.

I’m extremely disappointed. I simply asked if a sandwich could have cheese and tomato added instead of the rocket and mayonnaise. I simply don’t eat those two ingredients.

The owners response was;

“it’s too hard because the chefs are new and I would rather lose you as customer than my chefs” not really sure what this means exactly, will the chefs quit if I order cheese and tomato as a substitute?

I’ve been here many times and I never had an issue with this specific substitute as it’s the only menu item I eat there.

Won’t be going back that’s for sure

Arrogant waiter (wearing a cap) with zero customer service skills. I ordered a coffee & it was luke warm at best. When I mentioned it I received a sarcastic ‘did you order it hot? ’ I didn’t realise you had to order a ‘hot’ coffee to get a standard temperature coffee. Wont be back so many other cafes around.

Food is delicious, coffee is great. Most importantly there's not so much of tourists here, mostly locals in the morning which you can feel like an authentic local café.

Nice fresh juice, and nice eggs!

Staff are unpleasant and rude at best. Food is decent though. The mango smoothie is terrible, thick, and musty with no taste.

Galleon burger with egg: one of the best burgers I have ever had. Chips crispy and hot. Service from Callum was friendly, polite, unobtrusive and fast. Very happy with our experience today.

Great buzzy vibe. Really packed and busy at breakfast with friendly hip staff. Old school charm inside with daggy 1950's Formica tables. Very popular cafe, be prepared to wait.for your food, chillax, people watch, enjoy the experience. Stay away Karen's or if you're impatient, a stress mess or in a hurry.

First time here and was fantastic, food is great, staff are very friendly. Pancakes were awesome.

Breakfast was busy (as probably are other times as well).

Seating inside or out.

Tried this place because it was around the corner from my hostel, and I ended up going every day I was in town! Great coffee and delicious food- I tried the savory scone, the apple muffin, and a special porridge, and all were amazing! Staff were all extremely friendly as well, and they did great managing busy mornings.

An oasis. The Galleon was my go to place since the 1980s, and I resent that they close so early nowadays. They would see me for dinner many times a week.

Terrible customer service, staff are incredibly rude and after being told to wait in one area, I was essentially ignored and ended up leaving after watching others who arrived after being served.

Really good coffee and fabulous food staff are great. Could have better softer more relaxing or fun music.

These guys never miss, our must go to every time we are in StKilda. Fun, funky, great food, fairly priced. Just read some of the poor reviews, ordered 3 eggs, they served 2 so I gave 1 star. That’s a reflection on you, not this great place!

The Cafe was really busy when we visited for breakfast with only one spare table. Despite this, the food was excellent, very little wait and service was fast and great. Coffee was great and juice very fresh. Highly recommend.
