Funkey Monkey Cafe reviews
66Loved our breakfast experience here. The bacon and eggs on sour dough was so good, good serves so you go away full. Thanks to the lovely ladies that looked after us. We had a lovely breakfast before heading home to Melbourne. Thanks guys. We will be back.
The best thing to happen to Lakes Entrance by far! Your trip to the Lakes will not be complete without a stop at Funkey Monkey.
The big waitress with glass is not friendly, her coffee is no good. Food from the kitchen is amazing! Egg Benedict is recommended.
Enjoyed a fresh squeezed orange juice, cocoa granola and sour dough toast. Bustling cafe doing the morning takeaway coffees. It was a cold day and the door wide open was a bit chilly. How beautiful does the granola look?
A wonderful place to grab brunch and just relax. A nice family friendly environment with very helpful waiters. I had the smashed avo and it was one of the best smashed avos I had in a long time. I couldn't believe how well the elements on the plate worked together. It was elegantly plated and each element worked together to create a great taste that I will never forget. The food was not only pleasing to the eye but it was pleasing to the palate.
Coffee flat out amazing. Smooth. No bitterness. Well made. The cheeseburger was huge. Expected smaller. Had a really beautiful soft spicyness to it. Thick meat patty beautifully melted cheese. Crispy bacon. Would happily come back anytime.
Food was excellent. Staff were friendly and the place was filled to capacity with others waiting to get in. A great dining experience.
Ordered some take away meals so we could go and eat at the park and understand they were busy but we had to keep asking for different parts of the meal and when I asked for no dairy on my meal I found dairy on it after eating some. I breastfeed and my daughter can't have dairy and is allergic. By consuming dairy she will suffer for the next week from it which will make all feeds difficult. I got my money back but I wanted to be able to enjoy a meal with my family which everyone else got to eat.
Beautifully presented and tastey food, wonderful coffee. The Amazing chilli scrambled eggs. Perfect consistency, The whipped feta is to die for. Honestly could not have asked for a better breakfast. Thank you.
Clearly a locals spot. Decent toastie - but the coffee (flat white) was woeful. Could and should do better. Lakes Entrance needs good cafes like this to mail the basics.
The staff appeared disinterested. They completely forgot about us and our order. We had to remind them and eventually made it a takeaway. Our coffee was nice but only luke warm. Pity.we know of better places to eat.
Went with my whole family for breakfast and really enjoyed the meal and the coffee. Affordable and delicious food, with a good balance between inventive and classic flavours; comparable to inner city Melbourne cafe culture. Very friendly and quick service and in a lovely and comfortable location. Would definitely recommend a visit, would come again.
Had a great afternoon tea of veggie muffin and very good coffee. Service excellent, food delicious and coffee very good. Will be back.
Good coffee, great food, nice atmosphere and helpful staff. I am a wheelchair user and they made me feel welcome.
Coffee was good but big brekkie could’ve been better. If I was being critical I’d say use better quality produce. Eggs too small and bacon not up to standard really. Staff looked beat, could’ve smiled once. I’d give them another chance to redeem themselves but wouldn’t recommend on today’s performance.
One of the best, that you will never forget, fantastic team and high end professionally prepared pretty tasty food.
Presently surprised. I had the hotcakes which were great and the wife had French Toast which was good, although a little stale tasting. Coffee was also one of the best we've had along our road trip.
We just had coffee to go, the iced latte was awful, don't know what was wrong with it! The flat white was OK
Splendid execution. It’s only a matter of time before travel magazines and blogs start writing about their unassuming and flavourful menu.
Tucked right off the Esplanade on Meyer St, Lakes Entrance is a very popular Cafe. Opens at 8am and gets pretty busy right after. We were there at 8: 10am and was lucky to find the last table, while seeing others been told to come back later.
Food is pretty good and fairly priced. My initial impression from the name of the Cafe was to expect some innovative and funky menu, however that isn't the case and menu is standard run of the mill. Coffee was pretty good and so was the hot cake with maple, kids loved it.
Surely worth a try when you are in this beautiful part of Victoria.
