Frankston Waterfront Restaurant-Modern Australian Seafood and Steak Restaurant

PUT MORE STAFF ON! 45 minutes at our table and nobody came to take even a drinks order. Took us asking, then to be told we have to wait 5 minutes while the waitress cleared dishes off a table before our order was taken.

An hour in and not only had we not gotten our drinks, but a couple who came in 30 mins after us had drinks and were being served their entree. We walked out, disappointing because from what we could see the food looked quite nice.

I don't at all blame the staff, it seemed like there were only two people on to wait on tables, run the bar, seat people and take payment. Ridiculous to have so few people on a Sunday night post lockdown. And if you just don't have the staff don't take so many bookings.

Bad experience

Decided to try out this place for a nice ladies lunch on a Monday arvo. The service and food was really nice. The kitchen was very accommodating in making sure dietary requirements were met. We enjoyed all the meals that were ordered. Everything from the garlic bread right to dessert was delicious and satisfying. Definitely recommend this place and if you love sticky date pudding, you have to order it. It was absolutely divine. The only reason I’m not giving 5-stars is the food was a little over salted.

Great location, nice environment and delicious food. The seating area is very nice and having good heater facility for the outdoor helps a lot to enjoy the view and still stay warm.

Loved our lunch there. However definitely needs more staff as the waiting time for your main meals can be around 40-45 minutes.

Hi restaurant owner. Just replying to your query about rating I gave. This review is based on my experience when restaurant was open few weeks ago.

We had a beautiful experience at Waterfront. Food was too good. The staff is very efficient n very welcoming. We left the place with a sweet taste of very delicious dessert.
Recommend this place whole heartedly.will visit the place again definitely.

Got delivery. Looked forward to it not being Chinese or Indian. Underwhelmed is an over statement. Ended up putting a handful of salt on the chicken dish to find some flavour (turned out to be salt in the end) and the beef ribs were just that.ribs. No meat, just burnt ribs held together with membrane. First time we've ordered, more than happy to give it a second try, but not this week.nor next.

Lovely friendly service and all 5 of our group really enjoyed their meals. All of us will definitely go back there again.

Family friendly and clean small café/restaurant just on the ground floor of Southeast Water Building facing the sea/ water. They have indoor and outdoor dinning options. Heating system was perfect - not too hot but enough to make you warm and cozy. Friendly and welcoming staffs. There’s ample pay parking around so, no worries. We cannot fault our breakfast, all were deliciously cooked and put together. We love the chorizo. It’s spicy just right. Serving portions were good - enough to make your belly full and right for its price! We didn’t enjoy our coffee though - the reason why we rate this place 4 stars. It was lacking kick of coffee itself. Other than that, we enjoyed our breakfast. We will definitely come again. We highly recommend this place for everyone.

Dish is overpriced. I don't know why but the food is tasteless. Seafood is nothing next to fish and chip quality, it's below.

Wonderful food and service.l had the best prawn fettuccine l have had in a very long time. All of my friends enjoyed their meals. Great atmosphere. I will return to try another day.

On average both quality and quantity.
Nothing I like the most but the taste of bbq beef ribs dish was more than I expected. Seafood dish was prepared very well.
Staffs are kind and friendly.

There is nothing waterfront about Frankston Waterfront. It is on a commercial building just off Nepean Hwy - with zero seaviews. The food was extremely bland and the service was rude and rushed.

2 days later my partner got sick from food poisoning - I'm not sure if it was from this restaurant, but we didn't eat out all week.

I've been a Frankston resident all my life and this place was a disappointment.

Food was ok, fish cooked well but you know when someone tries to emulate someone they admire and the effect is a forced and inauthentic chirade? Well, that's this restaurant. They are trying, but sadly lack any cohesion and originality. Service also needs improving.

Our meal was absolutely perfect. Seafood platter for 2, salad and dips and it was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. We will definitely be back!

This place has potential. However, the menu needs a revamp. Both steak and burger orederd was overcooked. Burger was bland, and needing some love. The chefs rushed the food out too quacking with out quality control. Steak had the right flavour. Theres a positive. Upon arrival we were seated promptly. It took 25 minutes to have a server take our food order while we watched lots of mistakes made. Food orders were taken 1 table at a time and sent to kitchen instead of scoping the whole section to see who was ready and then acting accordingly to sequence of service. Were there too many tables seated at once with food and drinks orders to take plus drinks to be made with only 2 staff on hand to do all those jobs? Yes, for their experience it was too much for them, but there is no choice as the restaurant was understaffed. Which resulted in the poor service at the start of a table sitting. But these things can always be recovered. After our food order was taken 3 staff had arrived. I know issues like this can pop up in hospo so I understand. It was just a case of poor management with rostering. And I'm guessing hopefully an off day when I arrived at the restaurant. Some of the items are priced spot on. Other items you would question if the quality came out not up to par. These are the situations restaurants go through daily. A positive was a staff member asking each table how the food was half way through eating ours. Just managed to time it right. And again when we paid she had asked how everything was. We didn't have a good experience there. She did apologise and was sincere about it.

Things to brush up on, plan your moves carefully, precisely and if in doubt, always remember sequence of service. Always take all orders that are ready in 1 go. Always scope the whole section and assess in what order things need to be done. Always have eye contact with customers. The food runner always needs to quality check every dish before it leaves the kitchen. (I had a hair in my cheese inside the burger). Last line of defence.

Brush this review off. It was just an off service period for you guys. Hopefully you'll learn from reviews and your experiences In the good times and bad times of service. Always strive to improve on service and think of how it can be done. Like I said, you guys have potential. Keep on pushing.

Nice views, friendly staff. I went there to eat oysters and they were out of oyster, unfortunately. Nevertheless, they have FANTASTIC Tex Mex Chicken Parma that can be shared. Fair price and super tasty. I recommend.

I tried the seafood linguine very yummy but the the pasta need a little bit more cooking a bit tough.

Food was good - but the service was terrible.there was only 5 tables with 3 waitresses serving which should have been seamless.however everything seemed extremely slow.especially our seafood platter which took almost 1: 30 hours to arrive.not to mention some customer was telling and screaming about something

I think management needs to improve significantly
