Fontalina reviews
46It started with us being overcharged for our take away meal. We questioned the girl who took our order and she found that she had 'accidentally' added a dish we didn't order. We gave 2 stars because the meatball we had was really good. Our only complaint was that it could do with a bit more sauce as it was very dry. The Fiori pizza was absolutely the blandest pizza we've ever had and worse, the pizza dough was not cooked through properly. We basically had uncooked dough. The garlic focacia turned out to be the pizza base sold as focacia bread and there was not a trace of garlic on it! Huge disappointment especially coming from an Italian pizza place.
We went to Fontalina on Thursday this week and we were absolutely thrilled by.pretty much everything!
The service was excellent, the pizza delicious, the food was served in a timely manner and the atmosphere is great. It's been a long time we hadn't enjoyed a dinner out that much! Thank you team Fontalina, you might become our regular joint!
Took an Americano pizza and lasagne for takeaway. Pizza was fantastic and lasagne was very good, single portion was easily good for two. Will definitely be coming back.
Really great wood fired pizza in Balnarring. Legitimately Italian too - not your American/Aussie suburbs style pizzas (not that there’s anything wrong with that!). Lots of seating inside, cosy atmosphere too.
My husband, young daughter and I visited Fontalina Saturday for dinner. Everything from the food to the wine, ambience and service was absolutely incredible. We could not fault our experience, highly recommend visiting this beautiful restaurant. We will most certainly be returning.
After a tedious 14 day lockdown, this was the ideal option for stunning cuisine. The service was above and beyond. Furthermore, both courses were impeccable with rich flavours that worked in harmony. The French Rosè was a beautiful pair with the Margarita Pizza and the Waygu Bresaola Pizza. The special tonight, Red Wine Braised Short Boneless Rib with Polenta was the star of the show, definitely recommend for anyone with fine taste. We finished with the home made Tiramisu and Nutella Calzone which were an ideal finish to a sterling night out.
Had the Margarita and Parmiagina pizza (takeaway). Wow, these were worth the wait and possibly the best pizza I’ve had in Australia. We’ll be back to Fontalina for sure!
Lovely meal this evening and wonderful service. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a great feed.
Delicious food. Great service. Love coming here when we head up to the beach. Ricotta lasagne and Margherita delicious
Pretty much had a Waikiki (Fontalinas version of a Hawaiian) every week over COVID lockdown and I will keep getting them so long as I can. They are consistently awesome and the team there are great at operating under pressure. Yes sometimes there can be some wait times but I think that’s because the secret is out and everyone knows how good they are (but in saying that my last pizza was ready in under 10 minutes).
Keep it up guys I will be forever your biggest fan
We ordered take away from here, we couldn’t get through on the phones for a bit because they were busy but once we did we were not disappointed and so glad we persisted. Yes it is a bit more expensive than your standard pizza place but these are anything but your standard pizzas! They were literally some of the best pizzas we have ever had in our lives. The GF bases were absolutely amazing and had an awesome wood fired crust - and we have eaten a lot of GF pizzas. Top quality toppings and super authentic just like pizza in Italy. Simple and delicious
Really lovely full flavoured good with plenty of gluten free options for my celiac wife.
Good selection of beer and wine. Friendly staff. Thoroughly recommended.
Best Pizza in Melbourne, hands down. Most definately a place to visit on any weekend. Wood fired glorious pizza!
I had a Burrata and a Capri pizza, Davide, the head chef is amazing! One of the best italian restaurants in Victoria.
Top marks!
We love this place. Great atmosphere and casual decor. We always receive friendly, prompt service. The wood fired pizzas are delicious. Great wine list with a decent number of local Peninsula wines. The wood fired chicken wings are nice way to start before the pizzas arrive. Highly recommend.
Pizza is excellent, the staff is very friendly and the manager is really nice, quick when it needs to and I highly recommend it.
The local. Wood fired pizzas come out quickly, very very tasty and are to die for. They take pride in what they serve and it has always been quality and quantity!
Hands down the best pizza in Melbourne, so much flavour but simple! Great service as well would highly recommend this place what a spot!
Been here every week so far. Great place for the family and very accommodating. Half price pizza on Sundays whats not to love
Unforgettable experience!!We were so hungry after watching sunset in Mornington and we run into this stunning pizza restaurant. We (4 people) had three pizzas and a large serve of charcoal fired chicken wings. The chicken wings grilled with herb and onions were delightful and appetizing. The Capri was savory and juicy! And the Margarita was just so balanced with a perfect ratio of cheese, tomato and basil which is a dish you definitely don’t want to miss!
