Flying Brick Cider Co reviews
78Wonderful lunch - cheese platter and Cauliflower starters were divine. Great value, great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
I can highly recommend the seafood grazing platter! At $40 it was very generous, and with a fresh winter leaves salad it made a delicious and surprisingly cheap lunch for two! I didn't sample the ciders today because I had a long drive home, but I've had the pear cider before and loved it.
We came here on a rainy Sunday with a 11: 30am reservation. We were the first ones to arrive with the next table not arriving until 12pm. We liked how it was nice and quiet though. It was cosy being seated next to the fire place, and our waiter was very hopitable and knowledgeable about the menu. My partner accidently spilled his cider and they kindly replaced it and helped wipe up the table promptly. The duck leg was delicious and so was the porterhouse steak, although the steak could have been a little less chewy. The baked fig tart was very sweet, good if you prefer desserts on the sweeter side. The banofee looked more fancy than it tasted but my partner who likes banana seemed to enjoy it. The flying brick pachinga cider was recommended to us. The taste was quite unique and I would recommended first timers to try this even though it didn't particularly appeal to my tastebuds
Don't eat or drink here. The service and booking system is appalling and disorganised. Staff are rude and the on-site manager is dismissive. Its not worth your time or money. There are better places in Geelong you can go to and get better bang for your buck. I booked a table.for two to celebrate a 50th birthday and it was ruined when they said we had no booking and I had the email confirmation to prove it. Worst place ever.
A great place for lunch during the week and on weekends go for a drink with friends sit on the lawns with a cider and the kids can run around until the fall asleep
Food was nice although there wasn't much option. The cider is very nice. Staff is very friendly and provided good service.
May as well called The Shed, as we didn't learn much about the cider from the lad serving us, for a Cider Co. We got a paddle of ciders to share and had to work out which was which for ourselves. The spiced cider was my choice.
Several groups were in attendance making use of the spaciousness; seats & umbrellas outside, space the kiddies can run about the lawn. We were looking for the winery part too, a desk tucked to the right side of the enterance, not clearly demarcated- prebooking required. I was also surprised to see a 'manned' tourist 'Information' desk next to it.
Great service good food
BUT nearly all staff and kitchen staff were using their masks as a chin strap.
Why bother to even have them on.
Shame
Really enjoyed it here. We had great food, great views, and great service. The salmon main was excellent. French fries some of the best you’ll ever have. The baked Camembert was excellent. Tomato and peach salad was great. The sashimi salmon was quite nice. We had the cider taster which was fun. We liked the original and pachinga the best. Not sure who served us her name may have been Ella she was excellent. Def recommend
Nice place to go for dinner and a drink. Beautiful venue and we really enjoyed the live music. Food was great, awesome pork belly! Only area for improvement was organisation of food coming from the kitchen. We had our mains arrive whilst we were still eating our appetiser and had no room on the table. We would have enjoyed a break between the two courses. We also sat without drinks for 30 mins after the mains were cleared. 4/5 overall and would love to sit on the grass on a sunny afternoon.
Very good food, cider tasting was fab!
Big place, excellent live music and nice lawn!
Great service and merch!
Perfect for a Sunday lunch. A+
The staff were super friendly, the music was fantastic, and the food was fresh. Not the best place we've been to recently, but definitely in the top five. Highly recommend.
Three of us went in today hoping for wine tasting and were turned away. Four other customers in the whole place and three staff on with another 1.5hrs to close. Presumably the owner wasn’t working today. Missed potential sales on a deserted day with underworked staff.
I don’t want to be harsh, we are in the middle of a pandemic and times are tough so I’ll be as nice as possible. Staff, trying to be efficient and they were successful to a point, however this was completely overshadowed by the lack of any genuine interaction with patrons. We were booked for lunch but we felt rather uncomfortable after we were curtly shown our table which was placed in the middle of a walkway (social distancing). I understand social distancing but there were better places and spaces that were available and compliant where we could have been seated. We ended up leaving after one drink as we already felt unhappy with the vibe, the seating and to top it off the cider tasting paddle had three flat ciders in it. Lets face it, that’s not a great start. The warm cider was delicious though, I give them that. The grounds are beautiful and it has potential. Maybe it was a bad day, but sadly and even so, I won’t be going back when there are so many other fabulous places nearby.
Tasty food and generous share plates. Tasting paddle great but make sure you taste the chilli lime cider
Went here recently with my fiance and found it quite disappointing. We had to wait 15 mins before anyone seated us and found it quite hard to get the staff's attention to order drinks/food. It was quite busy but we saw larger groups getting proper attention whereas we were ignored. The cider was pretty good but my meal came with a hair in it. The staff handled it well and made up a new dish though. It was an alright time but not worth the amount of money spent for the quality we got.
A must stop over venue on the Belerine Peninsula.
Great cider verities and excellent pup food from the food van or the more exotic Al carte restaurant. Booking for returant needed but a huge grass lawn is also avaliable for the casual passer bye.
Delicious cider and a lovely cheese platter to help it go down! Highly recommend that you pop in for a paddle or two.
Excellent squid in the kids meal (but it is enough to fill anyone up) also excellent with allergies, very patient when I was explaining and the macaroons for desert were amazing. Just overall a great place 10/10.
Never had a bad experience here, just a very pleasant place to sit, eat and drink as a couple or with friends.
