Beside the free breakfast the room is tiny and stinky cold water and the bed was really itchy so I ask for new bed and the staff was the worst only after one hour I got new bed that not itchy but less then 1.80m so basically the worst hostel I been

WORST HOSTEL EVER! Staff is dishonest and literally stole my friends backpack and threw away all her stuff in the "free bin" pile of the hostel. She had to go to the police to report the theft but the hostel is not being cooperative and they claim that the bag was in a "not secured area". Apparently they throw away bags after they have been left at the hostel's "bag area" for over a month but my friend only left her bag for 5 days while she was on the road for work. The staff only returned her backpack the day after the police came but all her stuff was gone so they only gave her back an empty backpack and said they would not put signs up in the hostel to ask backpackers to return all the items from the free bin to my friend. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HORRIBLE HOSTEL! If I could put 0 stars i would. Flinders you are horrible and I hope you get shut down.

A very well kept, professional place. Clean and organized. Free pancake breakfast. Mini movie theater. Pool table. Great location. The reception is open 24/7 which was great when we had to check out at 4am. Nice bathroom/shower facilities.

Drawbacks: a bit expensive. Though it was a nice change from the gross cheap hostel we had in Sydney. Premium dorm was worth the money.

Common areas were nice and large, but crowded because it's such a large hostel. Very busy. But you may be into that kind of thing. I'm sure it's easy to make friends if that's what you're looking for.

Main thing was how slow the elevator was. Probably worse for us staying on the 11th floor, but it just never showed up. So we climbed a LOT of stairs.

All in all, this hostel is recommended.

You have to wait 10 min for the elevator and the keycards are sometimes not working.
Pancakes are really nice

Great Hostel. Friendly and generous team (Elyse was the best of them!). Reasonable prices. Free rice, noodles, coffee, tee all day. Bar on 1st floor. All important shops right around the corner. Great location.

Over hyped.
Half of the room keys do not work and facilities are obsolete.
Huge premises because of which it’s always crowded.
Joint Bar on 1st floor is decent.
Staff is really helpful- 3 star just for them

Solid hostel. Common room is nice, puts events on the board and changes daily. Good atmosphere, although quite a party hostel but if you're not into that it's easy to avoid it. Had a 4 person room and worked out ok, good size locker. Only thing is that it gets incredibly hot in those rooms and 2 fans doesn't suffice. Pleasee invest in air con for rooms

I spent one night in an 18-beds dormitory, which to my surprise didn't feel crowded at all because the room was very big. The boxes for storage under the beds are a really good idea, as well as the lockers although you need your own lock to lock them (which I didn't know). The room got quite hot while I was there (no air-con) but the fans made it bearable. However because the windows were open through the night I was woken up several times by the noise down on the street.
The bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was really big and the free pancakes in the morning were great. The living/meeting up area is large and nice.

Location, this place is perfect for location. Outside a tram stop within the free tram zone, next to every kind of food place you could think of. 5 minute walk from Flinders Station. A street away from the Yarra River. The rooms were hot though, the heat builds up all day and radiates all night and only a fan to circulate the hot air around. Woke up several times with headaches because of losing so much water during the night from sweating. However the staff are great, the prices are fantastic and the events they hold most nights are really welcoming. If only they could do something about the heat in the rooms then this would have been 5 star for sure!
