It's a beautiful spot of green right in the middle of high rises. Great views from the gardens. Lots of wonderful flowering plants which make a colourful picture when in bloom. Lots of trees providing shade in the hot afternoons. We were there in summer and it was really pleasant walking on the paths and sitting under the trees. New Year's eve saw a fantastic fireworks display at the garden, with live music performances and food trucks.

Excellent park on the heart of the city. Excellent playground. Nearby to transport, train station, Queen Victoria market, food, cafes, etc.

Flagstaff Gardens is a hidden gem in the heart of Melbourne. Nestled between the bustling city streets, this park offers a tranquil oasis for locals and visitors alike.

The lush green lawns and well-maintained flower beds create a picturesque setting for picnics, leisurely strolls, or simply unwinding in nature. The towering trees provide much-needed shade on hot summer days, making it a perfect spot to escape the sun.

One of the highlights of Flagstaff Gardens is its rich history. It's the city's oldest park and features historical monuments and plaques that tell the story of Melbourne's past. It's a great place to learn about the city's heritage while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

For fitness enthusiasts, there are walking paths, open spaces for sports and yoga, and even a small playground for kids. It's a versatile park that caters to various interests.

However, the park can get crowded during lunch hours and weekends, so it's advisable to visit during quieter times for a more peaceful experience. Additionally, the public facilities, such as restrooms, could be better maintained.

In conclusion, Flagstaff Gardens is a wonderful urban oasis that combines history and nature, making it a perfect place to escape the city's hustle and bustle. Whether you're looking for a place to relax, exercise, or learn about Melbourne's heritage, this park has something for everyone. It's a must-visit for both tourists and locals.

Looks like silly, but when I used to go running in Flagstaff Gardens underestimated how good it would be for myself.

Flagstaff is very welcome for people who like to enjoy a sunny day, doing everything possible: from taking the dogs to playground to sitting on the grass or going for a run.

The people there are happy people and the air we breathe is more pure.

Clean gardens, green grass and trees dominate the eye. This park is even more beautiful with the many birds playing on the grass surface. Many people use this park facility to just eat lunch with their own lunch, school children who are exercising, or workers who are just passing by.

Did a barbeque here with office mates.

Cons - only 2 barbeque machines for the whole park!

Great place to stroll around to clear the head with the open air. The childrens play area is well laid out and on great condition. The gardens are are well looked after and kept neat and tidy and worth to pop over for a meal on tje tablez and chairs.

Cool pigeons. Also, they have public toilets, no drunk violent mobs and a nice garden. Love the trees too, they look rlly nice in autumn

Not the brightest or most light filled park as there's a lot of canopy cover. But this place is a little urban oasis. Such beautiful parklands in what seems to be the heart of the city in the west, a trip here for lunch, or a walk and talk meeting will definitely be a welcome change of scenery for your work week. If you live in the city, this is a great place for you, your pooch, friends and family to picnic / hang out somewhere close in the city. And it's great how walking through these gardens is all it takes to arrive at the Queen Vic Markets! Definitely a beautiful garden environment in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Thanks Melbourne City Council.

Beautiful little park in the heart of Melbourn, perfect for a quick stroll or lunch break as it's not massive

Plenty of shade trees and lots of birds to watch. Unfortunately, the park is not large enough to provide area free of traffic noise. An elevation climb towards the center of the park makes this a great area to do hill workouts.

Beautiful park in the busy city. People do lunch, bbq and picnic here. Kids running around with dog friendly environments. Near to tram and train stations.

I wouldn't exactly call these gardens given that it's mostly a field and trees but hey where else are you going to go to relax with some nature in the cbd?
