Came here for my surgical abortion.
This clinic can get hectic in the mornings. The way they run things is a bit old school (paper-based) but it works. The medical staff were all amazing, they were really busy but they knew what they were doing and you can see they do care about their patients. Once you get there, they do blood, ultrasound, urine, counselling, forms.
It was a long wait, the day I went was really busy (not sure if it's like that everyday) and all the waiting rooms were used. I was told I'd be there for 4 hours but I was there for just over 6 hours, and it was very hard because I was fasting. The waiting rooms chairs weren't very comfortable.
The procedure itself was quick and painless, about 10 minutes long and I was under general anaesthesia.
I was a bit worried about running into nasty protestors, but there were none, and they are not allowed to protest within 150m of the clinic.

Thanks FCC for the services you provide for women.

Professional and supportive staff who are very knowledgeable and dedicated to helping women. The process of getting an IUD was easy, efficient and the nurses and anaesthetic team are attentive, caring and brilliant at their jobs. No long wait times for an appointment as is the case with private gynos plus bulk billed appointments for consultations and checkups. Dr Louis has over 40 years experience and I highly recommend him.

I was referred by my GP to contact this clinic given their good reviews. Well, I wish I had read the negatives so that I was prepared.

I called just this afternoon, and the receptionist as mentioned in previous negative reviews had a really poor manner, she was disinterested in helping me and was quick to list off other clinics for me to attend. I live within 1.3kms of the clinic.

It’s women like this who should not be the face/voice that a potential client/patient first sees/hears. It is a deterrent, and a judgemental one at that. As a health professional myself, I’m really taken back by this first encounter and won’t be bothering again.

I hope that in future, others have a better experience so that they aren’t made to feel so rejected, judged and inconvenient to a facility that promotes women’s health.

The staff was welcoming. They listened to me very carefully and resolved all my concerns before the procedure. Overall, it was a great experience there.

Very good and quick service, very kind and lovely people. I had an abortion surgery today with them, and everything was great. The building is a bit old, and abit tricky to find it (maybe because I am new to the area) other than that they are fantastic.

I had to go there a few months ago at great expense as I was coming from Tasmania.
I saw Dr Kathy Lewis whom I had seen in Hobart 2010 at the clinic they had there then, about an embedded IUD, at that time she couldn't quite remove it. There was no follow up at that time about the problem. This time I had a general anaesthetic, after the procedure I assumed she would have removed it but all she said was she couldn't find an IUD. (that strikes me as strange as she found it in 2010). So I have just wasted my time & money travelling to Melbourne. Absolutely no after care or consideration for a patient whatsoever. I feel totally gutted. And am of course "STILL" in considerable pain & discomfort. When I saw Dr. Lewis in 2010 in Hobart she had found the strings of the IUD and tried to get it out but had difficulty in doing this. She is denying this so my visit to the clinic a few months ago was a waste of money & time. Why she insisted on an X Ray I do not know as unfortunately X Ray is not showing much at all.

I went here based on their reviews, given that the nature of the situation is very sensitive and wanted this process to to be as comfortable as possible.

I had a termination done over a month ago, but yesterday I received a call from possibly the rudest person ‘Rhonda’ telling me straight away that she thinks I may still be pregnant. I was advised by her that because my pregnancy was so early, embryonic tissue wasn’t seen from my ultrasound (sounds like one of the reviews below me) and was afraid that it was not successfully completed. Why is this information not advised to us patients, PRIOR to the surgery? WHY IS SURGERY STILL BEING PERFORMED IF YOU CANNOT PHYSICALLY SEE THE EMBRYONIC TISSUE? And WHY am I only being contacted A WHOLE MONTH AFTER? !

I came back into the clinic this morning to ensure that everything was okay, however I have been experiencing severe bleeding and pain from my pelvis for the last TWO weeks, which I also told Rhonda and the doctor I saw this morning. The doctor I spoke with (didn’t catch his name), simply brushed me away saying “Yes it’s not normal, but come back next week if it isn’t gone”. There is no care or concern for the patient and I am so disappointed that this is what I had to experience. I would reccommend other females to look for a better clinic because this was just plain horrible.

I’ve also noticed that FCC coming back to all these negative reviews advising that “they don’t appear in their system”, but I am sure that you are well aware of us and can’t admit to your poor service.

EDIT: in response to your comment - I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF EITHER FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS? And also, this doctor that I spoke with, clearly had no idea what the hell he was saying. I am being referred to a gyncologist because I am still heavily bleeding and would NEVER consider going back to you for any more advice. And as a practice manager, you should be taking all of these reviews into consideration to improve this place rather than trying to prove a point with your patients with these negative experiences. Clearly have no idea how to run a professional clinic.

Worst customer service what I have ever received. I regret that I ever went to this clinic. They made me feel uncomfortable and upset. The time is money for them.

I was five week pregnant by the time I visited FFC, doctor Greg Levin did the pre-operation check up for me, while doing ultrasound scanning, although he was not able to spot any pregnancy tissue or embryo, he went ahead with operation anyway (later on I was admitted to Royal Women Hospital Emergence Department and all gynecologists were shocked to hear what I have experienced as no operation is supposed to be done if doctors cannot see the pregnancy tissue via ultrasound), before the operation, I questioned whether there is a risk for pregnancy to continue after the operation, and I was informed the risk is very low - 0.05% so that I don’t have to worry about it. It turned out to be a disaster, days later, I found out I was still pregnant with serious complication caused by unsuccessful surgical termination, long story short, I was admitted to Royal Women later on for the following procedures.

The reason I leave this comment is to remind all girls, if you have made your mind to terminate your pregnancy, please go to a reputable clinic or hospitals, have a thorough checkup performed by a REAL doctor who has your best interest in mind, instead of those who only care about their profit and persuade patients to go head with operation even through they cannot see the pregnancy issue via ultrasound as the way FFC did. Protect yourself and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

UPDATE ON 16TH DECEMBER 2019:
THIS IS TO REPLY YOUR FEEDBACK Janice, you do know who I am, as you called me back a couple times after the review is posted. Again, the only reason i am writing this post is to get all other women to have a better understanding of the nature of your pure money-driven business before approaching to you for help.

They're scammers. Before the surgery, they took the complete payment from me and using my insurance details, they have made a claim on my behalf to my medical insurer. Not only did they take $500 for my surgery, they have taken over $300 dollars which was my claim, to be collected by me from my medical insurer. They may be good at conducting procedures but when it comes to finances, they cannot be trusted.

Thanks to all the staff for being friendly, empathic and even having a sense of humour.
Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. A+.
The anesthetist even waved hello to me in the recovery room when she had seen that id woken up. All the nurses are great.

There was no care for other customers. One woman who was getting a termination started crying, and she was just ignored. She was having bit of a break down and was on the verge of screaming. The girl at the reception desk just kept typing away. When she was finally called in by the doctor the receptionist muttered "finally that's over". She had no consideration of what that person was going through
