Fertility Control Clinic

I came here to get an iud inserted, the process went well and i have no complaints about that, however, i felt a lot of discomfort from the string about a month after my insertion, so i went back for an early checkup to see if i could get it trimmed a bit more. I saw a while male doctor and it had been my second visit to a gynecologist at this point. I was very nervous and uncomfortable with the speculum, a part of it got caught on and twisted the skin near my labia minora and cause me great amounts of pain. When i voiced this to the "doctor" he ignored my pain, telling me that "mild discomfort" was normal. The previous gynecologist I saw at ANOTHER CLINIC was a lovely woman that took things at my pace and looked after my comfort first. This guy completely rushed the process and made me feel so disrespected and ignored. Because of this horrible experience, I missed my next checku appointments, preferring to riskmy own health than to go to the same clinic that employs that sham of a doctor. Do NOT go here. I hope they fire him because I've seen many reviews regarding his horrible care. You could see another doctor but personally I wouldn't recommend support a clinic that willingly employs that heathen.

I wish I could give a better review but I felt extreme unease at this clinic, especially with the doctor who was male, and the super uncomfortable counselling session. When I called the 24-hour phone line about any concerns, I felt like I was a burden. Also, the clinic did not follow up or check up on me after the procedure, and it has been months at this point. Maybe it was just a terrible day for all the staff during that time and that’s why I didn’t have a great experience. I’m really thankful that there are safe clinics here and we have access to these services, but after this experience, I can’t help but feel yucky? If I had to go through medical abortion again, I would opt for a Telehealth service at another clinic instead.

I visit yesterday for terminate my pregnancy. They are so good and professional. Staff is really good. Also the doctor she did the procedure she was really good and calm.feel so comfortable. I highly recommend please if you want surgical abortion visit in this clinic. You are in safe hand. Doctor she is really good. Also in surgical theatre there is one male guy and nurse they are really good aswell. Thank you so much for understand human feeling and pain. They really treat gentle. Thank you again. Had an appointment for an iud consultation. I had some questions and concerns but the doctor didn’t care to answer them and seemed bothered by me. He just handed me a pamphlet and told me to go book an appointment to get it done. I also wasn’t told when booking that the doctor would be an old white man which also put me off and made me feel uncomfortable. The whole place and situation gave me a really bad feeling about the place.

I needed to have my IUD replaced. They were easily able to get me in within a few days, whereas I couldn't find a gyno anywhere else available within a few months. Plus they do it under sedation. I've had it done before without sedation elsewhere. Trust me, sedation is the way to go.
The staff were nice and made me feel very safe. The GP who conducted my entry consult was an efficient man, but the person who performed the procedure was a woman. She was very soothing and conversational.
The combination of my health insurance and Medicare meant I didn't pay a cent. Bonus.
Pro tip, take a warm jacket. It can get cold in there, and whilst the procedure only goes for 15 minutes, I was there for nearly four hours including post op care. Then I went home, took Ibuprofen (as recommended) and slept for three hours. Feeling great afterwards.

Disappointed with the way they talk to people, every time we call them, the old lady on the phone is very very extremely rude, you should have a certain way to talk to people and be more polite, this put people uncomfortable.

The doctors, counsellors, nurses and surgeon were all so caring and friendly. Made me feel very safe. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a surgical abortion.

I made an appointment and assumed the doctor would be female. I was surprised when an old, white male called me into his office. Something I thought should have been mentioned to me when I booked the appointment to ensure I was comfortable. With people sitting just outside the door he could not be louder in asking personal health questions, so forget privacy. When explaining my situation he rudely talked over the top of me and said “that was not a question, it was a statement” and continued to talk at me. Disgusted.

I highly suspect any review that’s above 1 is fake.
To begin with there were detour routes on the way causing us to be a mere 15 minutes late. We had the courtesy to call ahead twice and check in with the receptionist who made it very clear she wasn’t impressed and made us feel very flustered and pressured when there was literally nothing we could do. I walked into the clinic and it looked like a basement morgue, could over hear conversations between employees regarding other patients, as an ex Nurse I was disgusted. The gentlemen who was to perform a scan barely looked at and addressed his actual patient when talking, he spent most of his time addressing me (I was there as support not the one having the procedure?). He’d stressed that there was NOTHING they could help with post 12 weeks but neglected to mention that there was in fact other options elsewhere. When we left and I waited at the front counter a while to have a chat re why we chose to leave and there was a drawer full of patient files left on the front counter with information showing.
This whole experience exacerbated an already difficult experience to face, utterly horrendous. We left and it was the right decision to head to Msi in St Kilda to meet the team and make some inquiries. They were the absolute polar opposites in bedside manner, willingness to help and warmth. Humanity, professionalism and warmth goes a long way when someone is at their most vulnerable & scared.

The staff at FCC were not only super efficient but so friendly! Since arrival, everything was very prompt and explained perfectly. Would definitely recommend!

I came here for a copper iud insertion recently and I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I found that every staff member
were not only so lovely and reassuring but also extremely efficient and knowledgeable.

I tend to get quite anxious before any type of medical appointment - but the staff where able to calm my nerves and talk me through the whole process and after care - completely judgement free. I would highly recommend coming here.

Staff was amazing couldn’t ask for better and lovely nurses and doctors. From the beginning everyone was open to answer any of my questions or concerns.

Terrible experience. The lady over the phone was so rude and impatient. Poor customer service. Won’t recommend to anyone.

Called to inquire about a procedure here, and was shocked by the phone manner. Couldn’t believe that’s the first impression you want to give. The lady did not want to be on the phone talking to me, and wasn’t friendly at all. I would strongly recommend you reconsider which staff represent your clinic, because I have changed my mind about coming here, and from reading many other reviews over the last 2 years i think
Many others are doing the same because no action is being taken.

Called up to organise a surgical abortion and the lady at reception was absolutely horrible. So rude and dismissive, blunt, and made me feel so silly and like a burden for asking questions.
I ended the call feeling so anxious and taken back that I decided to go with Marie Stopes instead.
Please consider hiring a different receptionist.

Took my mother to this particular clinic for an IUD removal as refer by our GP. Not only did they not remove it but they even told us that there could not see the IUD. My mother went under general anesthesia for this procedure and they did not think about ultrasound to look for it before putting her to sleep? Wouldn't tell me what happen during the procedure when I asked why they couldn't remove the IUD. The only answer I got were that they could not see it.

Took our money then refer us to a different ultrasound clinic instead which cost us some more money.
Afterward we met our GP and they were worry about uterine tearing as my mother was bleeding down there since. God knows what they did to her in there.

I wish I could give this 0 star, 1 star is too generous for what they did. I would suggest they revise their mission statement. What part of this sound like high quality and safe health care services.

I called and got an appointment for following week for surgical abortion. No protesters which was good.
The reception staff were direct but professional. They use paper records which is old system but seems to work for them.
Surgery day I got blood test, urine, ultrasound and psychological check and chat about contraception.
The waiting room chairs are not very comfortable.
Take earphones or book as there is a wait for the procedure. The nurse abd anaesthetist were lovely.
I woke up in bit of pain but nurses were close and gave me pain relief and let me relax abit longer.
I then sat out in a waiting room and was offered coffee/tea biscuits until my friend picked me up.
I would recommend taking it easy at home after the general anaesthetic and using the time to deal with any emotions/feelings you have about the situation.

Receptionist was so rude, honestly her attitude made me call up so many other clinics out of pure uncomfortableness. After telling her about what i was booking for she instantly was so rude telling me that i “didn’t do the mature thing and book earlier? ” and i was so taken back by what she had just said and i replied with “pardon? ”. Whoever hired her should rethink about who they trust to represent their clinic considering so many people have commented the same thing. Just disgusting.

I visited this clinic today to have my first ever IUD inserted and I'm so grateful for the positive experience I had. I was nervous about going under and the potential for pain in having the IUD inserted, but the whole process was an absolute breeze. The doctors and nurses are so friendly and answered any questions I had. Very grateful and happy that I can now refer to this clinic.

The woman who answered my call at reception was extremely bland, bored and dismissive. No enthusiasm or care whatsoever. I am very disappointed as that was the first time for me calling up the clinic. I hope when I visit in person they are nicer and the medical teams are caring.
