One of the best breakfasts I’ve had so far. Had the ricotta hotcake and Benny, both were just perfect. The staff was super nice and welcoming

Very busy the day we went which is a good sign. Staff were super friendly. I had the Chicken Katsu Sandwhich which was glorious. My partner had the Rosti which was huuge, there were two on the plate but one would be enough.

Vibrant rustic gem tucked away in Fitzroy. Friendly attentive service. Exceptional coffee, substantial portion sizes & in-house baked bread. Your traditional avo smash & chilli scrambled done well without breaking the bank. Worth a second visit & would recommend checking out.

Tasty food, in the house bakery (taste rye bread) goid service and friendly staff members! Nice place for breakfast or lunch.

Great location and beautiful place. We went there for breakfast, the menu is ok, the quality of food was fantastic, my order was godmother chilli scrambled and I loved it. Unfortunately no lactose free milk option and they were out of most of their pastry options plus they forgot one of our orders and we had to remind them two times.

Got the ricotta hotcakes, they were incredibly delicious I highly recommend this dish. A good combination of bitter and sweet, balanced well! My partner however got scrambled eggs on toast with bacon, adding bacon was $5 for 2 small pieces. The eggs also weren't scrambled they were folded and tasted really bland. Coffee was good. Recommend ordering from the menu and not using their 'build your own' option.

Quite disappointed with the 2: 1 egg to bread ratio on the eggs Benny, but Faraday's Cage redeemed itself by supplying the highest quality sharp serrated knives to cut through the sourdough.

Food is good but they charge a 10% "weekend surcharge" on top of already relatively expensive menu. I even stopped by to get a takeaway loaf of bread and was charged an additional 10% bringing the total up from $7.50 to $8.25. This makes no sense given how much more money cafes already make in the weekends. It makes even less sense when you get something takeaway. Fitzroy is teeming with other cafes.

Been in inner Melbourne for 8 days. Finally came here on last day. Thank God! Great food, great coffee but especially really lovely service which has been the exception to the rule this trip. Thank you Grace

Absolutely wonderful Saturday morning breakfast! Thrilled to start my birthday eating delicious and thoughtfully prepared food. Definitely recommend the Godmother chilli scrambled eggs, the poke bowel with smoked salmon and the early burger. Only downside was that I hoped to see the Can’t Decide Breakfast Board on the menu (it’s available online?) - I’ll come back to try that!

Adore this place! Coffee is awesome (they use Proud Mary), food really can’t be beat, especially for breakfast. Lots of great pastries and takeaway options. They’re known for their sourdough and you can buy loaves to take home too. Great go-to local spot tucked away on Gore St.

I have been to Faradays cage many times now, but will not be going back as service has substantially dropped. Walked into the cafe on a Friday for a table for one, and was told everywhere was busy, and the lady said oh won’t be long these people are leaving, so I waited patiently and to my disbelief watched her sit two seperate couples who had walked in after me without a booking to get a table straightaway. After a few minutes she handed me a menu and said there is table outside, mind you I had been waiting before these customers, this was extremely disheartening. I wrote to faradage’s cage over email over 10 days ago and no reply no acknowledgment. This is not how customers should be treated

Very friendly staff, great coffee, fresh bread cool and relax atmosphere! Food was good, just ponzu and rice wasn’t familiar conversation for me but fresh and healthy plate! Benny was delicious, I wanna try more food next time! Definitely recommend this spot! My favorite cafe in Fitzroy!

I love coming here in the morning to get one of their delicious toasties or baguettes.i recommend the halloumi pesto toastie with sun dried tomatoes, or the prosciutto, mozzarella and tomato baguette. They also do a really good iced matcha latte.

My goodness, the bakery here is so scrumptious! I don't know why people line up for hours to go to Lune when there is a much better bakery here just a few blocks away. The danishes, the sourdough, the croissants.

This is my favourite café of all in Melbourne. It‘s so cool, the atmosphere is awesome, the food is great, as is the coffee, and the staff are the best! Definitely worth visiting for breakfast or brunch or lunch or whatever!

Amazing place, good food and nice ppl, heads up to the chef! An emphasis on the Benny and the carrot, orange and ginger juice and the nice service of Keyko!

Truly excellent place. Very rustic setting, with excellent food and coffee. I had the baked eggs, and they were outstanding. Away from the hustle and bustle of Fitzroy but still very much quintessential Fitzroy!

Food was great, had the Benny with bit of korean influence and missus had the chilli scrambled eggs, coffee was nice too.
Friendly staffs. Great brunch spot. Will be back.
