Famili Ria reviews
44 My go to place whenever I crave for pempek (Indonesian fish cakes). Famili Ria is the closest in terms of flavor, compared to my mum's homemade pempek.
Their other dishes are good as well, especially the noodles, chicken satay and the bakso goreng (deep fried meat balls).
The Pempek is delicious! The yummiest in Melbourne I guess? So many options of Pempek. Definitely people should try! My first time here and I bought even for take away. Feeling like home ️ The only thing I gave 4 stars is because the place is just okay. Surely for eating yes. But not for the enjoyment for the time being.
Ordered nasi ayam bakar and hot spicy noodles with chicken and mushroom. Slight charred flavour for ayam bakar. Sambal for noodles was balanced. Everything else was ok but not exceptional.
Always happy with the quality of the food from this place, great little place to have dinner with the family.
Support small local small business.
This place providing yummy food with affordable price.
Nice and friendly staff.
Pempek (fish cake) dish is to die for. It's crispy, chewy and the sauce is sooooo delicious and spicy.
Highly recommended if you are feeling homesick and missing Indonesian meal.
A very unique Indonesian restaurant that specialises in fishcake. Pepek sampler is a definite must try. I would recommend just taking away as the restaurant's environment is not the best.
Lovely food, the taste of Indonesian food. It was too tempting I keep forgetting to take thw pictures.
Simple little Indonesian eatery. Small serves for one. Self serve water, cutlery and side plates.
The place was very easy to find. For people who are not familiar with Indonesian dish the photos of dishes are quite helpful. We went there at dinner time, the food was quickly served, we ordered fishcake omelette, mixed beef ball soup needle, octopus balls and vegetables. For us, the food was a bit too sweet when savoury taste was expected. Other then that, the restaurant is clean and quiet, recommend for those who would like to try something different from Chinese food in Box Hill.
Delicious, authentic Indonesian food. The pempek (Indonesian fish cake) is a must try. The best (even if you compare with any pempek restaurants in Jakarta)!
My kids always love the mushroom noodle there. A nice and cosy Indonesian restaurant. Nice to be back in Indonesian “atmosphere” once in a while.
I always go there to eat their Ayomm Baker (Indonesian grilled chicken with white rice and a kind of sauce). It's very yummy.
Nice Indonesian food. Well established.noodles are nice and come in a variety of options.
Pempek (fish cake) is to died for.a few versions available and they come with a sweet sour sauce.
Small restaurant. Authentic Indonesian flavours. Good Mie Ayam & Pempek & Bakso Goreng. Love this place! Must try if you love Indonesian food. They have a pretty great selection of rice and soup dishes too
Small and simple restaurant with amazing food. The fishcakes or pempek is as good as the one back home. Will be back again for sure
One of the best Indonesian restaurants in the area. Staffs are very friendly and the food is amazing.
They serve many types of delicious Indonesian food here at a low price.
Satay, Fish paste, Indonesian Curry, Noodle, etc. Friendly staff and environment.
We come here mainly for the Indonesian fish cake. They usually serve good dry noodles with meat but not anymore. Very popular with mainly Indonesians as Indonesian food are not generally well known compared to Thai and Malaysian food. The store is located next to the last tram stop. So handy to get to with public transport.
So so so delicious! Been craving food close to home for the longest time, and was not really satiate by any other Malaysian/Indonesian restaurants I've been to.until I ate here! The ayam bakar pedas was to die for, and lacks no authenticity (or flavour). My new go to spot!
