After trying on a few dresses I found one I liked, the sales lady said 'Are you going to say yes to the dress? ' and I explained that as this was a large financial purchase and my first experience wedding dress shopping that I would go home, think about it and make another appointment to come back to try the dress on again. The sales lady was visibly upset and walked off. After a few minutes she came back and said that the dress would likely sell out and that I needed to put a deposit on it to secure it. I said no but she continued to bargain with me and pressure me. I ended up putting down a $100 deposit, knowing the entire time that I didn't want to however I was tired, had decision fatigue and felt pressured and intimidated by the sales lady. I called when they were open the next day and spoke to the manager, asking for my deposit back. The manager said that she knew the law and that I wasn't entitled to my money back and that in fact, I should have put down a bigger deposit. She spoke over me and was abrupt and dismissive. Horrific service. I was very anxious that other dress stores would be like this too which negatively impacted my entire experience of wedding dress shopping. Thankfully every other store I went to was nothing like this place and i found my dress elsewhere with kind and understanding sales people.

Initially, selecting a dress at Fairytales was a straightforward process with Dinah being a great help, however picking up the dress was an unnecessarily painful process. The dress took longer than promised, and it was difficult to get a straight answer out of the store of when to expect the dress in store with the date pushed back 3 times and conflicting info provided over email and phone. It caused unnecessary stress and confusion, especially as you'd think they are more equipped to provide accurate updates and be across their own shipment tracking. Helpfulness and customer service levels also varies hugely across their staff. Good range of dresses but be prepared to chase them.

I had the most wonderful experience at Fairytale Bridal in early December 2022. Dina was so amazing, she gave me back hope to find my dress. I had tried on so many dresses by that point in countless other stores and I had given up, and I wasn't even sure anymore what exactly I was looking for.
I loved her wonderful, bubbly and very honest nature, she was like a bestie on the hunt for the perfect dress together. She was very patient, took all the time I needed, respected my budget, and was honest with what looked good and what didn't.

The store has a huge amount of dresses to choose from. I can't recommend highly enough. As I live in Adelaide, the store shipped my dress and it took less than 24 hours for it to arrive.

A truly beautiful and memorable wedding dress shopping experience with the perfect "This is my dress" moment!

Super happy with my service, honestly this store has made finding a wedding dress super easy for me. I was looked after by Angela and Bronte, they made me feel like a real life princess! They picked out a dress that suited me best and knew exactly what would look good on me. 10/10! To Angela and Bronte for being so wonderful and welcoming. Great spot to try on gowns with large individual (ish) change rooms. There was a full mirror on one side and chairs and the open hallway on the other. Large curtains pulled across to make it a personal change room. Staff were helpful.

The ladies in this store were very helpful and knowledgeable. I had just finished visiting a number of high end and popular stores in the CBD and on Sydney road in brunswick. This shop was a pleasant suprise. The shop is nicer and the ladies experienced with large change rooms and space for your guests to sit. I tried a pronovias dress on that I was seriously contemplating buying from a store on Sydney road and I was shocked to find out that fairytale bridal had it for $800 less before promotions. The price for their alterations was also given at a very good price in comparison to prices mentioned at other stores. Fingers crossed I have no issues with the alterations when the time comes. They also had a winter promotion running so I got 10% off. I ended up walking away with a Maggie Sottero dress for a good price including alterations. I found a lot of comfort knowing I was able to talk to a dress designer and express my concerns about adding an off the shoulder sleeve. She was knowledgeable and used to work in alterations so she was able to suggest a number of good ideas. Now I'm patiently waiting for my dress to arrive and hopefully have no issues with final fittings and alterations and end up being in love with what is hopefully my dream dress! It would have been a nice touch to be offer a nice drink to toast to saying yes to the dress!

I had an amazing experience at Fairytale Brides today. Angela was so helpful and amazing her extensive experience was very obvious. She was very knowledgeable and just knew what would suit me before I did. Being a smaller lady I found it challenging to find a dress but Angela knew what would suit me and recommended the most gorgeous dress from the samples. I paid just $799 for my dream dress. Angela was also fantastic in terms of showing her the venue and then finding a dress to suit. She was also honest and never pushy. As soon as you walk in everything looks beautiful and it really did feel like a fairytale! I highly recommend going to Fairytales for your big day! Thank you so much to Angela and the other staff on the day.

I purchased my gown in may of 2022 with wedding in December 2022. My first visit was good. Sunny was great and helped me find my perfect dress. The second lady working at the front and my dress specialist had a discussion about the length of my dress and suggested I get it made 3 inches shorter due to it being so long. Fast forward to October for my first fitting. The dress is too short at the front. I didn’t realise the severity of the situation until I was told to pay and fix the bottom by bringing the hem down. I couldn’t understand how their suggestion (which was their mistake), would force me to now have to pay on top to fix it. A few comments were made about me not having my shoes with me on the day of buying my dress back in May. I don’t know any brides who have bought their shoes before their dress. You buy the shoes to match the dress, not the other way around. I also have an email from them hours after initially purchasing my dress stating ‘in addition, now is the perfect time to begin the search for your bridal shoes. This prepares you for your first fitting with the alterations department’, so obviously I was correct. I was basically blamed as if I suggested my dress should be chopped shorter when I wouldn’t know the first thing about altering bridal gowns. I wasn’t budging with the alterations lady and after what seemed like forever, the manager came out. She was abrupt and continued to blame me for not having shoes on the day of purchasing the dress and pretty much gave me no choice but to pay. She even said brides don’t normally wear heels that high. My shoes were an average size heel from novo and I know many brides who wear those height of shoes.
Not apologetic whatsoever. We had no choice but to pay over $800 in alterations when I was originally told it wouldn’t be anywhere near that. 5/6 weeks later I had my second alteration appointment and not much had been done. Only the sides taken in and the hem had a strip of material added that had a very definitive line. I requested they make it less visible by adding lace to match and cover it up. They still had to do the bust line, the 6 bustles and the hem. The following week which was one week before my wedding, I had my pick up appointment. They called me less than 24 hours before my appointment to reschedule due to covid issues. However I believe they just ran out of time. 6 weeks is more than enough time for alterations and felt more should have been done sooner. I had to cancel my meeting with my DJ and come in the following day. I was beyond stressed. The dress was fixed and couldn’t really tell to the naked eye thanks to Sandra who was the only person to give me exceptional service. When I took it home I noticed some lace not attached properly so I could tell it had been rushed which I don’t believe is Sandra’s fault as she had more work to do on it because of it being ordered shorter to begin with. She was very kind and lovely. However no one else made us feel welcomed, special or even congratulated me or gave me well wishes once I left after spending quite a lot of money. Not to mention we paid everything upfront and in full, and also bought earrings, a veil, headpiece and a lucky horse shoe accessory.
No champagne, no posing with the yes to the dress sign. My mum was even told off for having a thermos of water. Very disappointing experience. The two stars is because of Sandra’s exceptional work and the fact my dress was beautiful. But no bride should have to go through that stress and be blamed/forced to pay to cover up their mistakes.

Sonja was amazing! She was so helpful, patient, and personable, and assisted me to find the perfect dress. The entire service and set up of the store was also highly professional. I would definitely recommend Fairytales for other brides to be!

I want to thank the beautiful DINA at the marybrynong store. She made me feel like the princess at the store. She made me feel so comfortable. It was the first store I have been today and the second dress I tried on was the one. I said yes to the dress. Thank you so much DINA.

Fairly bridal boutique in Maribyrnong was honestly the best bridal shop i had ever been too. As soon as you walk in the place looks absolutely amazing! And the staff were so welcoming. There was so many options for dresses and Kathy who helped me find my dress was an absolute amazing person! She was so sweet and caring and really wanted to find something that would make me look a million dollars! But she also wanted to make sure it fitted what I was looking for and my budget which I appreciated so much! I cannot wait to wear it, i would highly recommend coming here to find your dress!

During my first visit (11/1) I had the pleasure of working with Dina, and I was so impressed by her customer service that I requested her for a second time (14/1) - and she DID NOT disappoint.

I was STRESSED leading up to my first appointment. There's nothing I hate more than standing in front of a bunch of mirrors and feeling like I'll never find the right fit for me! BUT from the moment I stepped through the door, Dina made me feel SO comfortable!

I had a list of things I definitely did not want and Dina was super patient (and understanding) as I picked dress after dress to try on. At one point, I had picked 3 dresses that were on dummies and she stopped at nothing to make sure I had the opportunity to try on those dresses! She even picked out head pieces and veils for me to experiment with as well!

Dina was super friendly towards my best friend and my mum and seemed to truly care about their thoughts, as well as mine! I honestly felt like royalty. It was quite the experience and I honestly would 10/10 recommend Dina and this store to anyone looking for a Bridal Gown!:) I said 'Yes to the Dress' today thanks to Dina!:)
