My daughter bought her gorgeous wedding gown here and it was spectacular. We were so happy with the service - the staff are super friendly and helpful. We were so happy with her alterations. Her dress was so beautiful. Thank you so much Fairytales.

My experience with Fairytales Bridal in Moonee Ponds left a lot to be desired. Last year I purchased my dream wedding dress from them, for my 2021 wedding. The customer service I received from most of the team there was satisfactory, however there was one lady who was very loud and quite rude when dealing with not only myself, but other brides who were in the store. This lady appeared to possibly be a manager there. Even on the phone when I asked a question about my bustle, she got very rude and snappy, asking where the bustle had been done. As soon as I said that Fairytales Bridal did the bustle, she reverted back to talking in a normal tone.

My biggest disappointment came when I returned to have my final fitting after the alterations were completed. After having paid $450 for the hemline, I was still unable to walk in my dress without kicking my legs like I was marching. When I questioned this, the staff told me that this is normal and brides always kick their legs to walk in their dresses. I wasn’t happy with this as I felt I was going to trip over, but the staff made me feel like I had no option but to take it as it was. At no point did the staff offer to fix this for me.

I ended up taking my wedding dress to a local seamstress. Upon trying it on, we noticed that Fairytales had barely touched the hem, and had even left pink dots on the hemline from when they first pinned it up. My local seamstress fixed the hemline by taking at least 5cm + off so that I could actually walk in it, only charged me a third of the price that Fairytales did, and did an amazing job.

I am absolutely disgusted that Fairytales charged me $450 for nothing and that I had to get my dress fixed elsewhere due to their incompetence. This on top of very average customer service made for a poor experience. Fairytales Bridal in Moonee Ponds have a nice selection of dresses, but leave a lot to be desired with their customer service and their workmanship.

I had Angela as my consultant and she was horrible. She was pushy and rude and completely ruined the experience. I left feeling sad and annoyed that we had wasted our time with such a inconsiderate person who seemed to lack any care for any one around her including myself, my mother and the poor staff she was screaming at as if she had the most important job in the world. The dresses were lovely and it is such a shame that they are being represented by someone so dreadful.

Horrible experience. There was a dress I wanted to try on but due to it being an ‘exclusive range’ you had to pay $100 fee to try it on. My consultant was rude chewing gum constantly while talking and kept coming into the change room and not letting me know and leaving the curtains wide open constantly so other people could see me getting changed! The consultant was also yelling at other staff and with every dress I tried on the consultants response was ‘wow this is beautiful you should buy it’ to every dress. They are only looking for sales rather then helping to pick the perfect dress that would align with my body shape, skin colour and theme of the wedding. Do not recommend!

Felt very rushed and pressured during the appointment.
After a few weeks, came back with my friend to make sure i actually have chosen a good dress and ended up changing my mind on a new one.
This appointment felt very rushed too even though we have booked online to have an hour and a half to choose dresses.
I reckon we were in & out for 30 minutes.
Wasn't even allowed to take photo of the dress for me to send to my mum.

My gown has been delayed for months (which is understandable if they were honest where it was made) and wasn't allowed to try the dress on when I got it, im assuming because im not getting my alterations from them?
- i had an email confirmation that i can do a final fitting of the gown but was told it was only for pickup. I HAD TO TRY ON MY DRESS FOR THE FIRST TIME AT A FRIEND'S PLACE!

Please do yourselves a favour and stay clear.
Will not recommend.

P. S i was left with a dress that is 3x bigger than my size and was rushed to have it altered somewhere else.

Fairytales Bridal Boutique was amazing experience for me. The first step I took in the door I was greeted and felt so welcomed by all the staff.

I had a wonderful consultant Dina. She was so helpful and went beyond! She was honestly amazing and made sure I was okay and happy with everything.

Everyone at Fairytales Bridal Boutique are so lovely and my experience was amazing!

I very disappointing and sad experience. Don't even bother completing the questionnaire they send you in advance as they don't read it anyway. I was left alone for the first 10 min to have a look through the dresses which was fine. When she came back and I only had pulled one dress she disappeared for another 10 minutes instead of helping me and understand what I am looking for. When I started trying on dresses she wanted to sell every single dress and pointing out how cheap they are and how I could say no to that. Also I told her that I bought a dress 2 years ago and due to personal reasons and COVID we had to post one twice. She was telling everyone on the store that I already bought a dress but didn't want to wear it and I felt like she is making fun of me.
I left sad and I would definitely not recommend this place. (The lady at the front desk was super nice)

(November, 2020)

Fairytales was the first stop in my wedding dress shopping journey and I couldn't have picked a better place to start! From the minute we walked in, we were greeted by a welcoming energy, and you could definitely feel a buzz in the air. We arrived 20 minutes early for appointment so we were able to browse.

When my time came, we were approached by our lovely consultant, Dina, who from the beginning was warm and accommodating. It did a lot to calm my nerves! Being a plus size bride, I was very hesitant to go dress shopping, and the sample dresses obviously were not my size, but nobody batted an eyelash, or made me feel uncomfortable at all.

When I was trying on dresses, Dina was very honest and not pushy at all. She really made the process a special one, as she would set me up with each dress then give me a few minutes alone with my sister so we could process the moment. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to make any decisions. I ended up finding The Dress and a beautiful veil to go along with it. Even when I made the decision to 'say yes', Dina checked in a few times to make sure that I was sure.

Everyone at the boutique, from the receptionist to the other consultants who would pass by were very friendly and the whole experience was great! I'm looking forward to my first dress fitting!

Being a plussize girl I have never been looking forward to dress shopping, but I absolutely loved the experience. I had the best times with my fittings Sandra was amazing with making the dress perfect during alterations. I felt like a princess. And I got my fairytale dress and wedding. Absolutely in love.

I was at Fairytales today and Kathy helped me. She was just the best and very knowledgeable, I said yes. I did go to 3 other places before but not one of them compared. Thank you again.

Absolutely disgusting customer service. My mum and i walk and in and are made to wait past their appointment time while the girls have a laugh and joke about. My mum asks if someone is going to proceed with the appointment and the girl starts talking with an attitude instead of apologising for the delay (which they seemed not to have as they were busy slacking away). Do yourself a favour and dont waste your time with arrogant girls who dont know how to greet or handle customers. While in a middle of a recession employees should be doing their absolute best to attract customers and make them happy to make a purchase but this business clearly does not understand the meaning of customer satisfaction. My mum and sister told the girls “we’re leaving” and the girl says “good”. Actual disgrace, go learn some manners and respect. Oh and to management reading this, add customer ‘satisfaction’ service training to your staff or cut the slack off these disrespectful girls.

Now this place is amazing, don~t even bother to going anywhere else, Stunning dresses and they do changes and alterations. Just the whole package, I went across the road from them first and they did not want to serve me. Fairytales was great nothing was too much. Excellent service, and not pushy. I could give 10 stars

A bridal appointment should be a fun, memorable experience. Particularly when you ask loved ones to take time out of their day to attend with you.
Visiting Fairytales was the only bad appointment out of the 6 that I have had.

I arrived at my 4.45 app, met a girl at her desk. She told me to choose dresses and then I can try them on. I proceeded to choose the dresses that I liked and then from her desk yelled out "Don't choose those dresses they are too big for you" after I had already spent 5 minutes going through the rack, pulling dresses out. I put the "bigger" ones back and continued looking. Then another assistant came over and told me she'll take my dresses to the changing room, and that I can only have 5. So again, I had to put half the dresses I had pulled out back.

I managed to try all the dresses on quite quickly, then in the end started questioning whether I should try more on as I didn't want to miss out on any good ones. I asked what time they close, 5pm was the response. It was already 5pm and she didn't seem keen on me staying. I asked for the name and price of the dress I liked the most and she responded with the dress number and I left.

- There was NO assistance by anyone through the entire process, aside from zipping up the dress. She barely clipped the dresses so I could see the correct fit. Also, I've tried many bigger sized dresses on in other stores and the assistant clips them. So don't know why I couldn't here.

- When organising a wedding, you have MANY things to remember and organise. So when a bride asks for the name and price of a dress, maybe write it down or email it to her. Cause I can tell you now I forgot the name the second she gave it to me.

- There was no guidance whatsoever with how your racks are laid out, by style or size. I was just left to look and the assistant didn't get off her chair at the desk rather she felt it was easier to yell out across the shop.

These complaints may seem minor, however when you have other amazing experiences the smallest things can make the biggest difference. If I was the owner if this shop, I would be ensuring each client were made to feel special and not rushed out of the door cause you're closing. I would make sure their short appointment time is used efficiently. Some basic customer service skills at bare minimum would be nice.

Would never recommend this shop.

This was by far the worst of all the bridal appointments I’ve had. I chose some dresses to try and was told I could only try 5. As I had already chosen 5 to try in just one section of the shop, I didn’t get to look around the majority of the store. The assistant made it very clear she just wanted me to buy a dress quickly and couldn’t be bothered, even argued with me when I said I didn’t love one on me, she seemed quite defensive and told me that if I tried on any more I would just get confused. I was made to wear gloves and a mask whilst there, which I understand, however the shop assistant didn’t have her mask over her face at any time.
My appointment was very rushed in and out in 40 minutes, and I was made to feel like nothing more than a burden because I didn’t find a dress straight away. The assistant even said that ladies who pick their dress in the first 2 they try on are much better.
The 5th dress I found I actually liked but I would find another stockist and go there to try it.

ANGELAAAAA you were amazing! I went into the store in January just for a glance and saw a gown I like. I asked at the counter if i could try one dress and i did not have an appointment, they were extremely busy. Angela was on break and she put her half eaten apple in the bin to assist me. The dress I tired didn't do it and she suggested an alternative. The alternative was perfect for me it fit like a treat. Even better it was on sale and within 15min I was in and out with my wedding gown.thank you Angela i will never forget this.

It's one of the worst experience I've had. The way I was treated made me feel that I'm not worth their time. My curtains were left open and I had to close it myself multiple times. The only dresses within my budget was 10 sizes bigger than my size (size 4). Although it was for a good price and I wouldn't mind paying more to alter it, but the attitude of the lady serving me was disgusting I don't want to bother.

The lady serving me kept on saying how beautiful the dress was (the one that's 10 sizes bigger than my size) and that I should buy it since I won't be able to get another dress like it. When I expressed that I want to show my mum and my best friend the pictures of the dress first before I buy, she made a snarky comment saying, 'what, you can't make decisions by yourself? '

The entire time I was there, the lady kept on mentioning how the only ones that are within my budget are the ones on the 'sales' rack - which is true. When we walked through a few aisles of different designs, the lady would immediately pick up the price tag and read out the price and repeat my budget to me. There were other people shopping and I feel humiliated. Am I the only one that doesn't want to spend a few thousand dollars on the dress? It's simply not the way I would like to spend my money. And I feel like they should respect that and not make me feel 'less than' other brides-to-be.

Had an awful experience here with my friend who was trying on dresses. First of all we had an appointment but still had to wait more than Half an hour for someone to be available and then the woman snapped at my friend “well, where are the dresses you want to try on! ” After selecting some gowns and trying on one that was clearly not suitable, the sales assistant was pushy and rude and when my friend had a dress that she thought she might like but wanted some time to think about it, the woman said “what’s to think about! ”. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I would never go back. Thankfully she found ‘the one’ at Rafaele Ciuca with a LOVELY sales assistant.
