Fable Melbourne

Hidden behind a lift lobby that appears to be under construction, Fable has a gorgeous fitout on the 13th floor with city views. We were suggested "a beautiful terrible thing" by the bartender as we weren't sure what to order from the long list of options. Amazing suggestion, haven't had anything like it before!

To start, the location is amazing, 15 floors up looking over our city skyline at night, magic.
From the moment I walked in the door, I have never felt so welcome and appreciated in a restaurant. The service team were the best, our host took the time to introduce himself and find out a little about us before answering our many questions about the menu items, when someone is so knowledgeable and confident about what they are explaining, it’s a pleasure to listen and learn.
We were there for the late night menu and the food was beautiful, exactly as described to us, they have a huge selection of drinks and amazing cocktails.
This was a special night for us and not something that we get to do often, Fable was so good we can’t wait to go back and will be back soon.

Super friendly staff, a brilliant view and delicious food options. They offer an extensive cocktail list, with a soft spot for the martini, Fable offer one of biggest martini menus in Melbourne. Great prices and great atmosphere for after work drinks in the cbd or a casual weekend Tipple.

Worst experience ever and will never be back.
Spent over $800 and were shocked at this bill at the end considering staff were non existent. When arriving waited 10 minutes before being offered a drink and throughout constantly had to look around for staffs attention. Wasn't even busy and clearly they were ignoring us or something given multiple times they were seen talking to each other. Also the manager white shirt, dark beard, accent- Incredibly rude and should not be in hospitality. When he walked away halfway through an order I went up to confirm and mentioned I just felt it was a bit rude and he then refused to serve us. Given how much we had spent I felt this was unprofessional and not the way to deal with it. I also manage restaurants and I would never have responded in this way to a simple question. Will not be back because of him and the neglectful and rude staff.

In saying this girl on the door on arrival was great, polite and friendly, and special mention to the Asian guy behind the bar who did everything to make me the perfect cocktail, his customer service was fantastic, he should be the manager.
Food was also pretty average- we were told the poppers were spicy but the romesco had no spice what so ever.

Disappointing as I've been wanting to try here for ages but won't be back.

The food was great, drinks and menu in general was really good! Definitely worth the price you are paying for. I really enjoyed the experience and the ambiance. The only thing that was my tiny downfall was the music was way too loud. We were sitting in the middle high table/chairs. I think we were under the speakers so it was soooo hard to hear what my friend was saying who was not a metre away from me.
Otherwise, cocktails are high quality, I recommend the kingfish and beef tartare.

Fable restaurant is located on the 13th floor. My wife and I had our first date after our marriage here. I booked a reservation from the US. The ambiance was nice. In fact, their food was great. Their chicken was cooked to perfection. Their mango mocktail was amazing. Raspberry tart was perfect as well. I would definitely recommend this place though it’s a bit expensive. By the way, my only disappointment was that I wanted a corner seat so I could enjoy the high-rise view of Melbourne. They were not able to accommodate my request. Little disappointed as I was not a local, I traveled all the way from the USA

Food and drinks were amazing.loved the vibes here too. Finn our waiter was super friendly and made our night a lovely experience. Definitely coming back again. Great job guys

Fable is a great place to go after work and enjoy the night with friends. The staff is lovely and has good drinks suggestions. Give a try to their piña colada. It's just divine!

Beautiful view, great service and highly recommend this place if you're out to impress that special someone.
Don't be fooled by the exterior, though located in an apartment building, with the entrance to the building under construction, this place a little gem and it adds to the surprise.

Please be careful when dining here if you have a serious allergy or intolerance. I dined at Fable on Friday night with friends to celebrate my birthday. Upon ordering our meals, I mentioned to the staff that I had a nut allergy and the waiter double checked that our meals were okay to eat.

We ordered the roasted jalapeños which contained a vegan cheese. Unbeknownst to the chefs, this actually contained a cashew paste and it wasn’t until I was having my allergic reaction that the waiter confirmed
that the chefs were unaware that the vegan cheese contained nuts. They explained that they thought that it was a soy based product. A very dangerous mistake to make!

I was also very disappointed at the lack of care of the assistant manager who came up to me in the bathroom and advised in a condescending manner that when I dine out to eat, I have to mention that I am allergic to nuts AND cashews as cashews are in fact a fruit and not a nut.

I understand that a restaurant can never guarantee that their kitchen can be a nut free environment, however it is their responsibility to ensure that they know what products they are serving to their customers and how cautious they need to be when a customer mentions that they have an allergy.

Overall, the head waitress and waiters did their best to look after us and we actually enjoyed the cocktails and the main courses, however this experience was definitely one we did not expect and we’d hate for this to happen to anyone else.

Had a fantastic experience by accidently finding this place.came late on a Wednesday night and got greeted by Drew who was very professional and friendly. Drew and the other staff were fantastic as was the dessert accompanied with the whisky and cocktails alike. Beautiful venue and rooftop views. Coming back 100%. Well done guys!

Great place, amazing food and very hospitable staff! Loved the service and we will surely visit again!

It was a lot smaller than I expected. Quite dark, could barely read the menu and quite noisy. Service was impeccable, food was good but not exceptional. Overall had a lovely romantic night.

Went there for my birthday. Amazing cocktails, excellent services and great atmosphere. The staffs gave us some complimentary shots while we were for the entree. Will definitely come back again.:)

Great cocktail bar with an extensive menu. Very knowledgeable and attentive staff. We went for the late arvo 'Apertivo' which had a few nibbles including jalapeno poppers and a range of charcuterie and cheeses. Loved it, would go again
