Etto Pasta Bar - Elsternwick reviews
29Usually do a really good pesto pasta. Todays was unbelievably rubbish though, genuinely tasted like nothing. I went in to order and it was a mess of delivery people stuffed into a small space and everyone being ignored by service workers. And now you have to pay extra for chilli and Parmesan: (.
I ordered Bolognese from Ubereats as there was a 2-for-1 deal.
Even with the deal I feel ripped off - The pasta and meat sauce tasted no difference to the tinned meat sauce you get in a can at Woolworths and the pasta itself something I could buy for $3 packet.
Not only was the food below average but the serving size was small.
I’ve seen previous comments and they all say the quality is bad because of the delivery service - nothing could redeem this food.
This is the fast food of Pasta, the only reason to buy it would be convenience.
Such an incredible restaurant. Our go to for excellent quality and portions. Amazing customer service, you pay for what you get, which is super filling and delicious. The store was out of an item when I ordered, and they literally sent someone out for more ingredients so I didn’t have to cancel my order. 10/10
I used to order a good food from them. Mainly aglio and prawn pasta but unfortunately it was so bad recently. The pasta was overcooked like you can never imagine and almost no tomato sauce at all.i add up spinach but looks like few leafy spinach. Not worth to buy anymore. Do not go on delivery coz it takes more than 1hr to deliver. Shame! Waste of money
Nice pasta but found a chunk of hard plastic in my dish. Upon showing it to the staff, they simply said “we will check next time”. So with that logic, you might want to ask them to double check there is no hard plastic in your dish before eating your food.
I visited Etto in Elsterwick for late lunch, and had pasta and the garlic bread, taste so good! Staff are friendly and nice, suggestion to me what I probably like, which exactly what I enjoyed! Garlic bread must order! Highly recommend!
I was visited Etto pasta bar elsternwick. I liked the ambience and staff service for dine in. My wife tried aglio-olio spaghetti, I ordered vegetariano pizza and canoli. The dishes was amazing. I strongly suggest people to visit etto elsternwick who really wants Italian street pasta. Become a fan of pizza and pasta.
Under cooked tasteless pasta with slight metallic taste, I fail to see these as being homemade sauces. Garlic bread that tasted like old fat and not garlic bread. The only thing edible (without the dressing) was the rocket salad. In replying to the owner yes I run in my spare time a foodie group over a social networking site with over 2000 members and we eat out regularly. I give both good and bad feedback to restaurants depending on what I find over different mediums and sites. Typically I only respond with poor feedback if I find multiple elements of the meal have failed. I note others have also commented on your undercooked pasta, so maybe you need to give this attention.
Ordered for the first time - I ordered Alfredo rigatoni expecting a nice creamy pasta only there to be minimal sauce and it literally had no taste? I felt like I was eating plain pasta? Like I spent $20 for plain pasta, to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
The pizza my partner ordered also the toppings would all just fall off when trying to seperate the slices - not the end of the world but still a nuisance.
I’m Italian so I do know what Alfredo should be like and it ain’t plain pasta
This restaurant was referred to us - we were pleasantly surprised, the pizza's weren't gourmet yet tasteful and created Italian style and if you closed your eyes you might think you're in Positano Pizzeria looking across the foreshore.
Ordered the amatriciana and prawn all'aglio.
I've had these at the etto in Malvern and these were not the same at all.
The amatriciana didn't come with bacon but the common variety smoked Christmas ham and the prawn weren't plump and delicious but the frozen shrimp you usually get at the cheap Chinese takeaways. Was disappointing. I saw them mess up orders while we were there and they forgot to add parmesan to our pasta.
I enjoyed the food and it was quick. I complimented the staff as I was leaving and the staff member checked me for stealing the Italian Cook Book that was on the table that I looked at. The cookbook was still on the table. I abhor thieves and don't take kindly to being accused of stealing.
To response below: No apology was given even when i pointed to the book still on the table, in full view. Anyone with half an eye could see it there. And to think I was complimentary about the undercooked pasta. Unlike you people, I am polite. And i hope anyone reading this will know that your food shop staff are looking at them like they are a thief.
Received an order via Uber eats. Both types of pasta ordered, rigatoni and spaghetti, were ridiculously undercooked. Pasta texture so chewy and rubbery, as well as all the pasta being stuck together. (Photo of carbonara included)
Carbonara sauce itself was nice.
Rigatoni Bolognase sauce was very very dry.
Cheesy garlic bread arrived cold, but flavour was nice.
Ordered the date night for 2, our food came so quickly and it was absolutely delicious, couldn’t ask for a better Uber eats night in! We will definitely be ordering again
The below meal was just delivered quickly via Uber Eats no issue, thank goodness l my bill was reduced by $12 to $44.
I did not mind the purchase if what l got was quality and reflected somewhat the photos used, as lm interstate and was trying to help someone very unwell.
A$8 lasagna from Coles better depicts the ‘restaurant’ lasagna delivered costing $22. The $10 garlic bread is hidden in the A5 bag it came in. The pasta a freebie! Valued at $19 no Parmesan came with it as requested.
I ordered this meal hoping it might serve as 2 meals for an unwell friend. Not really going to happen. The juice and salad hopefully ok. I am told the taste of the Lasagna was there so that’s something. Overall what was provided at the cost was a disappointment hence the low score.
You guys need to sort yourselves out. I've tried to deliver Uber eats from you 3 times in the last week and a bit and it's been wrong each time. Not the Uber drivers fault- you've handed them the wrong stuff twice and got the order wrong once.
Paid $20 for a frozen lasagne. Came in the same cardboard packaging as the ones from Coles. Still uncooked and frozen in the middle
This is my second time ordering from this place and probably will be my last. I ordered the Carbonara and Truffle Chips for pickup. The truffle chips were really good but unfortunately the Carbonara was way off. On my previous visit, they separated the sauce from the pasta which I could then warm it up at home. However this time, the pasta was already mixed into the sauce and by the time I got home (I live a 2minute walk away from this place), the pasta was already clumpy and not very pleasant to eat. The sauce was also broken (see image). Did not enjoy my carbonara at all and I had to throw it out because it had a sourish taste.
Such. Great. Pasta.
Honestly, that's all you need to know.
Don't forget to add the Cheesy Garlic Bread!
This food is disgusting. I got the Alfredo sauce and when I opened it, it smelled so sour. I think tried to eat it and I couldn’t, it was so sour and foul tasting. It’s was just yuk.
