Etto Pasta Bar - South Melbourne

Ordered for the first time.literally just finished eating smoked salmon & capers. And omg, amazing flavours! I Ordered take away via uber. No regrets! Thnx Dave and Etto chefs:)

I ordered 2 x duo bombolone on Uber eats, which means I should get 4 bombolone, but I only received two. When I called them, the communication was extremely bad, and they didn’t even apologise. The man on the call was speaking as if it wasn’t their fault, and just told me to contact Uber Eats. I know the restaurant can’t really do anything about it, but at least have good communication skills and be apologetic for this mistake. Their appalling service is why I give them 1 star.

Disgusting mouldy bread! Ordered the cheesy garlic bread which had huge parts of mould all the way through it. It looks its been sitting there for days. I was sick instantly and had to throw the rest of our meal out.

Love the pasta here as they are always fresh. The gnocchi dishes are all filling and the sauces have full of flavour. Service is a let down as they can be a bit unfriendly but that aside the food is always consistent.

Patto is kinda weird sometimes he also sweats profusely which isn’t ideal when I’m trying to enjoy my fresh etto pasta I like the Mac and cheese good ratio of cheese but I won’t eat it with patto again cause the smell of garlic end ups making him nauseous, his very strange but would 100% recommend

I grabbed a coffee from here. The service was ok, and it was early morning I guess haha.

My strong skinny latte was alright, it had some good milk froth and the flavour of the coffee was ok but probably not my favourite as it was bitter.

They did have a lot of fresh pasta on display so I might go back and try some one day.

Which such a broad menu, I struggle to pick one meal! I just want to order everything on the menu! Quality food and made with love. Yum yum yum

Ordered garlic bread and hot chips through Ubereats to accompany and bulk up meal we were cooking to stretch out for unexpected dinner guests. Although the food was yummy we were shocked at the tiny size of the garlic bread for the price Of $8each, the bucket of chips were $6 (total of $22 + delivery). We ordered two “loaves” thinking from the picture that it was a mini loaf. And mini it was! It looks way bigger in the picture, the size is only just suitable for 1 person. It is bread, there is no reason to be charging this or for serving such miniature portions. Essentially we spent close to $20 on two portions of bread. Almost never feel compelled to write a review but the outrageous mark up on bread and butter left us pretty annoyed. We will not be reordering from this place.

Great value and bang for buck. Freshly made pasta, Goliath special is good option for big sizes. Haven't tried the pizza, but keep.coming back for the pasta. Staff is friendly helpful and quick service. Good local fare.

I'm usually hesitant about trying new pasta places but I'm so glad I took a chance with Etto for my birthday lunch today.

The three cheese sauce is AMAZING - the tang of the gorgonzola & little pieces of mozz made it nice and creamy. I'm usually quite picky with white sauce but this is perfect. I added roasted mushrooms and it was delicious. The pappardelle was perfectly cooked.

My partner had the Napoli gnocchi and really enjoyed his pillowy bites and flavorful sauce.

The deal on UberEats came with free garlic bread - the ciabatta was soft inside but crunchy outside, the perfect combo. Etto finished our order extremely quickly and was delivered hot and fresh.

First and last time customer using uber eats delivery from this restaurant. Was given the brush off by staff after calling back twice in the hope of receiving the correct order. Was told after 2 hour delay to order again via uber at my cost and no compensation for the inconvenience. Pathetic.

Not very friendly service and not very welcoming. The three cheese pasta was just ok, the sauce had slightly ‘split’ so not as creamy a texture as it should be and the fettuccine was undercooked. I ate in and ate it because I was hungry.

Your Bolognese tastes just like nonna used to make it and we drive all the way from Kensington when the pasta cravings hit. Service is always great and food comes out quick.

Amazing pasta with amazing portions. The service is amazing and you just feel at home with family here.

I have eaten here many times now. I find their pasta to be excellent. Store is abit small with limited seating. Mostly always clean. Service is fine, could be slightly more friendly overall and welcoming e.g. When leaving to say goodbye, enjoy your day etc, like Japanese restaurants where everyone says goodbye. Price is probably on the more expensive side when compared to other food optoons in the area, but mostly worth it is pretty good pasta.

"Hello" I said as I walked up to the counter. The girl behind the counter stopped gossiping with her male colleague just long enough to roll her eyes and make an audible grunting noise before turning to me. No verbal reply or greeting was forthcoming. Undeterred, I proceeded to place my order. For the price I paid, I was underwhelmed by both the quantity and the quality of food both my companion and I received. Next time I want Italian food, I'll go to Lygon Street.

Delicious street style Italian pasta if you are on the run this is a great place to stop by or take away. It’s quick, it’s yummy and the staff are fabulous!

Really quick service. We placed our order and saw the fastest turnaround ever. Food was delicious and the bread was really soft. They have good outdoor seating as well.
