Lovely nurses and the GP (Dr Carolyn Sebastian) knew exactly what she was doing and has been a massive help regarding my issues:)

Doctor was friendly and efficient. The receptionists were both very cold (to me in particular - emphatise that the system is overwhelmed but they were friendly with other patients). I only "bothered" them when arriving and before leaving (as the doctor said to "show your Medicare card to the receptionist"), so I asked?

One of them looked very annoyed and said "your name? " and the other one (once again) spoke to me while looking at the computer screen and said they didn't need anything from me. While the doctor itself was fine, it wasn't a pleasant visit and I am not sure of the basis of the discrimination.but probably my first and last visit.

Very nice receptionists, which is a rarity to find by itself, but my GP (Dr Mavis Vaz) is a gem! She actually listens, cares, is very thorough AND knowledgeable

I've been going to Era Health for around 5 years. This is a brilliant medical service with lovely and caring reception staff, two outstanding onsite nurses and skilled doctors who consistently operate from a model of patient care and responsibility. Even when not working in the city (so conveniently located just over Queen St in Bourke St), I will go always ensure I go to Era Health and can't see that changing any time soon!

My procedure is going longer but well. Overall a great experience, and looking forward to maintaining my results. Excellent doctor and staff who really cares. Highly recommended!

Dr. Mavis Vaz was super patient and reassuring during each visit! She made absolute sure that I was healthy and fine, especially since my anxiety was making me think I wasn't.

I've always had a great experience dealing with the various doctors at the Era clinic. Even during the pandemic and working from home, I was able to have a tele-health appointment. I will continue to use Era.

Nurse asked me to spell out my medication in the waiting room in front of another patient. For a condition that I did not wish to publicly disclose - or disclose to her for that matter - I'm not sure why she even had access to that information - my appointment was not booked with her. She did not discuss the condition with me whatsoever, but earlier did do many problematic things which made me uncomfortable and confused - I hadn't mentioned it to her so I couldn't understand why she was treating me in such a stigmatising way. I thought she was supposed to be checking my blood pressure and passing the numbers on to the doctor I was booked to see, but I would have to spend an hour with her. During this hour she managed to drive me to tears, after which I was treated to a very patronising and condescending lecture about how "John and I, need to assess" whether I am able to "follow instructions" and then she starts very slooowwly and looouudly listing all the traits and behaviours I would need to be a safe scuba diver and I realise (quelle horreur) she is just listing polar opposites of ADHD stereotypes. Oh I see. She wants me to MASK. Would have been nice if she just gave me that instruction (an hour ago). I never mentioned ADHD to her, nor she to me, so it took me a long time to figure out what was going on.
Now that I am masking, she pops me back in the waiting room. Then comes back and asks me to spell out my medication. The only medication I'm on is for my ADHD, which has still not been mentioned.
Shocked, I look to the other patient and back to her. She responds by stepping to the side, so I can get a clearer view of the other patient, then smiling sweetly, she leans in with her clipboard. After all she had just informed me that I wouldn't pass my medical if I couldn't follow instructions. Defeated, I spell it out.
Would not recommend neuro-diverse folk go anywhere near this place. As you would be all too aware, a LITTLE awareness of neuro-diversity is much much worse than none. In her case though, now that I've thought over all the things she said and the tricky little contradictions she trapped me in, like saying "don't talk" then checking my blood pressure, then making concerned noises to trick me into asking what was wrong. (which is talking - woops), answering my questions as though I had asked something else entirely, getting annoyed or angry when I actually understood despite her contradictions, then bringing these things up MUCH LATER with no logical segue to prove I don't listen to the answers and "can't follow instructions", having not informed me that was part of the medical exam, I'm pretty sure she's just power tripping.

It's taken me hours to process this experience and understand that it wasn't my fault and I hadn't done anything wrong. If I didn't have the medical certificate I would think I must have imagined the whole thing. In hind site I should have walked out after the first 5 minutes, even if they did already have a deposit and my credit card details.

My pre-employment medical check was a lot more thorough than I expected, money well spent. Nice staff.

I found ERAhealth staff friendly efficient and professional. My visit involved the full spread of services offered including nursing, physio and doctor visit through a preemployment medical.

It was comfortable and efficient I found the doctor waiting on me toward the finish rather than the other way round! Generally this message is a thanks to them.

I went here to follow a female doctor Dr Vas who is so easy to talk to n understanding of everything.
The clinic was beautiful to, friendly reception nice waiting room n fast in to see the doctor.

I arrived late by 30 minutes - entirely my fault for not reading the email carefully.
Considering this, I was pushed through my appointment quickly but thoroughly under the stressful circumstances of the nurse and treated better than deserved.

The practise has a clean, welcoming and professional feel and I would recommend this service to anyone.

I had my Dive here, second one in 2 years. Booking was easy. Staff are very friendly and the medical assessment is very thorough. Would definitely recommended Dr John Gall and Era for a Dive Medical.
