EMC at Snowski

I've been a customer of EMC, Balwyn/Deepdene, a number of times over the past 20 years, as a backpacker/hiker. Excellent service from the staff and a good range of items, including quality items it's hard to find. A couple of times I've bought items I was unsure about the comfort of (boots and a backpack) and was told to trial them at home to make sure they were right, and return them if not. Maybe I just caught the older male worker (possibly owner?) on a bad day both times, but he had a bit of an attitude with the returns. (Both items immaculate, had just been trialled inside my house). My partner and I buy most of our gear in the USA where customer service around returns is excellent so we didn't expect this! EMC seems to do a roaring trade with the ski crowd so maybe plan your visit for not Friday afternoon or Monday morning during ski season - they will be flat out!:)

It's a great store, the staff helped me find some great gear for the next ski season. They stock larger sizes, and are willing source what they don't have in stock (assuming you can wait). They gave reasonable and accurate advice, and were generally helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Second time buying walking boots here. Incredibly helpful and patient. Mitch was very knowledgeable, at no time did we feel pressured - he was happy to take the time to ensure a spot on fitting. Highly recommend these guys.

I went to EMC to prepare for an outdoor program with no knowledge at all about what I needed and what was suitable. The staff there were very knowledgeable about what they were doing and made sure i felt reassured.
If in need of information and buying outdoor equipment, highly recommend EMC.:)

Excellent customer service here, the staff were very helpful and spent the time making sure you were full looked after. Unfortunately, they couldn’t match the price of an item that I found on sale, but I am certain I will make the hour long drive to shop here again.

Walked away with great new ski boot and a few other ‘necessities’ very happy customer. Priced well and very happy with my purchase and experience. We will be back, thank you Doug. My son and I have just returned from the Kokoda Track. We both had new boots fitted at EMC by Mitch as our existing leather boots would not be suitable for the wet environment. Both were fitted with lots of knowledge and patience by Mitch. Salomon for my son and Vasque for me. Absolutely no problems on the trek. Other gear supplied by them, including day pack, camel pack and walking poles were all spot on.

Thanks Doug. Your team were fantastic getting me perfectly fitted with footwear for trekking. Kokoda was trouble free for my feet as the Salomon boots and Icebreaker Sox were awesome. Highly recommended!

Doug has fitted boots on my impossible left foot twice over the years (and his biz partner Robbie has once - he is out whoop whoop). I can not recommend these guys too highly. They offer exceptional service and with our plunging AU$ - their prices are better than i see in USA.

Appalling service! Will cancel your booking with no hesitation for a better offer! Unreliable service DO NOT USE. Whole weekend is now cancelled due to their unprofessionalism. Remember.if you are relying on them DONT! Big accommodation costs incurred and now out of pocket as a result of their GREED!
