El Patio Spanish Language School

I did the elementary 1 Spanish class with professora Cande. She has been a great teacher and really provided a great intro to Spanish. I look forward to continuing Spanish at el patio.

Cande is amazing! She’s so happy and encouraging and supportive. I really enjoy when she adapts the lesson with our questions for example Cande will tell a story or show us a photo of the place we’re discussing or give us a real world example. Can’t wait to come back for round 3

El Patio is fantastic I’ve been in classes for almost two semesters now and been in three different classes: two rapidos and one regular:) both are fantastic options: rapidos are great for a more intensive and fast learning experience, while the regular classes are relaxed and give you time to consolidate ideas. It has been particularly good when you have a class of a reasonable size:) I haven’t had a bad experience with my teachers, both have been just the friendliest and really care about their students’ learning experiences. Really excited to continue my Spanish learning with el Patio!

I have absolutely loved my classes at Northcote. After finding another company frustrating and unenthusiastic, El Patio has reinvigorated my excitement for learning Spanish. The teachers are welcoming and seem to love what they do, which brings a passion to each class. Each class, the homework and resources are highly organised and professional. I started learning Spanish early last year on Duolingo, and decided to pick up in-person classes this year. I’ve met with 4 different teachers from different countries both LATAM and Europe, all of them are AMAZING!

There is a structure to the lessons, while each teacher has their own delivery style and improvisation.

Their GM, Phil, is super helpful in helping with replacement classes (if needed).

From my research, they’re also the only Spanish school that runs all levels all terms too, which gives a lot of flexibility.

Learning Spanish at El Patio is a wonderful experience. David is a fantastic teacher - very patient, knowledgable and makes class fun. The immersive style of teaching means I'm learning Spanish quicker than I anticipated. And the school is so organised! Enrolment is smooth, every email responded to promptly and the staff are so friendly. Gracias El Patio!

This is a great place to learn Spanish. I enjoy every lesson and feel comfortable and at home at this school. Any questions are quickly answers by the friendly admin staff. This school cares about its students. The only danger is that once
you start with El Patio, you might never want to leave.

I had my money stolen by El Patio and would not recommend it. There are many Spanish teaching institutions in Melbourne that offer an educational experience, try anything else.

El patio is a wonderful school who take pride in delivering really well prepared classes that are fun and knowledgeable. The staff respond to enquiries really quickly and support you in your learning experience. Highly recommended!

Very well organised. Detailed description of what gets taught in each course level, and resources such as a spreadsheet listing all of the vocabulary by chapter of the textbook for flashcard users like myself.

An exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable teaching staff that make the classes interactive, engaging and fun. The administration and support is also second to none. I cannot recommend this school more highly.

Love El Patio! Been going for a few years now and have been consistently impressed by all the teachers and facilities. Hybrid (face-to-face and online) classes are working incredibly well.

El Patio is a great place to learn Spanish. Good teachers who are responsive and go beyond the text to ensure we have an understanding of modern Spanish. The text is well paced and grammar well layed out for understanding. Great to have a peer group also that travels with you as you advance in understanding to higher level classes.

I have been studying at El Patio (Northcote branch) for quite a few years and love it. As a retired teacher, I know good teaching when I see it, and the teachers at El Patio are absolutely wonderful - caring, professional and fun. The class I am in has developed a great sense of unity and camaradarie and I love going to it. The move to online classes last year was seamless and now we have some hybrid classes where students can be in the class face-to-face or online as they want - with great technology to enable this. Being a dedicated Spanish school, rather than a language school offering several languages means that as soon as you walk in the door, you are immersed in the language. Can't recommend El Patio highly enough (and I should have written this all in Spanish!)

El Patio is great! I completed Elementary 2 via Zoom this year with Martina. The class was a lot of fun and very informative.

El Patio is everything you could want in a language school. Great teachers and small class sizes mean that no one gets left behind. Our class has become a close-knit group of friends rather than mere acquaintances. The move to Zoom has been seamless and the continuity in classes has helped during lockdown.

I have done several short courses as well as two longer ones with El Patio. The teachers are patient, informative and fun; definitely not scared to think outside the square. Great follow up with loads of additional free links/info and even some free lessons to get you started. The online classes have been amazing, especially during covid lockdown.

Great language school! I would recommend El Patio for anyone wanting to Learn Spanish or to develop their exisiting skills. I started in the classroom this year and then moved to Online classes and the experience and teaching has been so good. The pace and teaching of the grammar I have found really helpful & all the teachers are lovely and it has been such a good learning experience! Thank you
