Dumpling King

The dumplings are too unpalatable. They are not made fresh, they are all frozen, and they are all broken when they are cooked and served. I have never tasted such terrible dumplings

The place is nice and clean, however the taste is definitely not authentic… or so our friends and I like to call it: “tweaked for local market”

The vegetarian fried rice and vegetarian spring roles were good, I liked the food, service and ambiance there. It can be pretty busy at times, so we should book it in advance.

A spectacular array of dishes available. Kids were looked after really well despite acting their age; the wait staff were prompt and efficient in looking after us.

The food was great, piping hot and super fresh. Menu looks a bit westernised so should be safe to bring those less familiar with Asian food generally. Bao was excellent, dumplings pan fried to that gorgeous half crunch half chew texture.

Decor is eminently functional but well kept and super clean. Crisp white tablecloths set off the table beautifully, with a splash of art on the walls to keep the theme going.

Very impressed and I don't know why it's been so long since I've come.

Stir fried string beans, spicy wontons, and salt & pepper fried tofu were so good, we got seconds.

The sweet & sour fish, and smoked duck used to be family favourites. Missed the mark this time round so had to minus a star.

The restaurant is no longer in its heyday, but still not a bad option for box hill, especially if you’re after clean place with fast and polite service.

Can’t count how many times we’ve come back here for their delicious Peking Duck and pork dumplings! S&P calamari and fried rice/noodles dishes are also our go-to. The staff are always so lovely and attentive which is a huge plus️ (you don’t get that often from Chinese restaurants lol)

First time here. Busy place. We got in early so managed to get a table. The Spicy Won Ton, Singapore Noodle and Fried rice were good. Not so good; Seafood fried dumplings (too blend) and Cantonese beef (too sweet). Service was excellent. Not the best dumplings place around and not the cheapest but I gave it a 4 stars because of the overall experience. Worth a try.

We really appreciated the super friendly service here, I'd definitely come back. The dumplings lunch special was great value and very tasty, and the Singapore noodles were delicious too. The whole menu looked great!

Extensive vegetarian menu! Excellent food and amazing service, the staff were wonderful.
We shared the vegetarian dumplings, spring rolls, vegetarian fried noodles (a must) and the general tsao tofu “chicken” (a must). All of the food was tasty and I would 100% recommend to eat here. Will be coming back to try out the rest of the items on the extensive vegetarian menu!

Enjoyed dinner with friends tonight. Loved the dumplings, both pan fried seafood and pork shao long pow. General Tao’s chicken was sweet, spicy and yum. Would definitely order this again. Tea smoked duck was slightly dry but lovely smoky flavour and salt and pepper calamari tender and crisp. Hadn’t been back for a while and we were impressed by the service and beautiful food.

Food at Dumpling King is always good and I wasn't disappointed this time. I recommend dumpling King highly.

100% recommend Dumpling King Box Hill if you want quality food and outstanding customer service. My family and I have been customers of this restaurant for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. We have had many family functions at this restaurant and just hosted my mother's 70th birthday lunch at Dumpling King. The food portion sizes were generous and delicious and our guests were very impressed with the variety offered in our set menu. Thank you to Jun and her team for making my mother's 70th birthday celebration one we won't forget.

I've been a regular for a few years. The best dumplings in town. Keep up the good work.

Update: New management. A few tweaks have been made but still delicious. Lovely staff.

Been coming here for around 10 years now.
The food has always been great and the service very good. The previous manager Yong (who passed away R. I. P.) and his wife Shelly were fantastic. This has been continued by the current management especially Jin. Staff come and go as you would expect with uni students, but we have always been looked after, brought many friends and family and have enjoyed our food especially the pan fried dumplings and the Mongolian beef.yum.

Has maintained a quality, reliable product for over a decade and deserves its' standing and accolades with impeccable service and an extensive and reasonably priced menu.

Very good dumplings, very nice Peking duck, great service. Clean and pleasant environment. Will return and recommend to others.

Best dumplings I've had, would also reccomend the pork buns. The staff are amazing and are make the experience that much better. Great food for sharing and bringing a group.
No split bills though.
