Dromana 3 Drive-In

We attended Dromana Drive In on two occasions recently and our interactions with management over these two visits were less than welcoming.

In the first instance, my wife ordered a meal for dinner on arrival. On picking the meal up from the diner, the meal was not as ordered. This was immediately repeated on two further occasions as replacement meals were also incorrect.

The manager on duty was unhelpful and sarcastic to deal with and made my wife feel highly embarrassed for simply asking politely for what she ordered.

The more recent episode occurred when we took our new three month old puppy to the drive in with us. Too young to be left at home, we arrived, took the puppy out of our car so it could stretch its legs and go to the toilet if necessary (we had a bag with us to clean up).

Unfortunately the same manager approached us (that had previously been rude to my wife on the earlier visit). This manager was incredibly direct about there being a no dogs policy outside of cars. That's fine - we didn't know, but to be spoken to in a tone that was unnecessary and disregarding of our attempted reasonable replies at the time.

We note, less than 5 cars were in Cinema 1 on a Sunday night. It was 45 minutes prior to the movie commencing. Even the comment about being flexible with our tickets is incredible - we explained we were unable to attend as originally planned because my wife had unexpected surgery.

You've lost our business and the fact that this same manager also emailed my wife, offline, to ask us to remove our feedback says alot.

The one star review remains our joint feeling about how we were treated. Very disappointing.

To all those considering attending, think twice about putting your hard earned cash into this money hungry business. We attended early and placed our food order well before the credits/advertisements even begun. Upon waiting almost two hours for our food and attending twice at the counter and eventually asking for a refund, I was told ‘sorry our manger will not accept any refunds now’ and maybe wait another 10 minutes our food. Lo and behold we got our food 5 minutes before the movie ENDED. Not sure about you, but I just love receiving a cold burger at movie credits. Sad to say that I wasn’t the only one expiring such long delays and overheard other waiting hours for food.

Poor organisation and forethought by owner/managers, if you can’t handle the orders maybe you shouldn’t have been so greedy and continue to accept orders when you clearly can’t handle it. Next time it’s off to lunar!

Good for seeing movie but there restaurant not so good took more than 1.5 hours to get wedges and donuts next time I will get before we go really slow I give 4 star for drive in and 1 star for restaurant

Paul, you are a bloody legend mate. We were such terrible customers staying behind once all cars had gone home and then we accidentally locked ourselves out of the car‍️‍️‍️ This guy saves the day by breaking into the car and getting my keys out all for the call out service fee of "just leave me a good review. " Even if it wasn't for that, still a great place. Recommended 11/10. But pls don't be a noob like me.before you close your boot, make sure your car isn't locked thanks again Paul!

Great atmosphere friendly environment with amazing staff. A must to visit if you are looking for a fun night out.

Great place to take the family for a reasonable priced night out together. Not a huge drive in but definitely has the old school feel about it. Menu is decent too. I found it not to be to over crowded which is a huge plus. The only thing I felt was missing was postfix soft drink machine as the store as bottle drinks are ok, but with a family with mouth fulls of popcorn, the small medium and large drinks definitely would make a difference. All in all a decent night out!

If you're used to great facilities, being able to choose where you want to park your vehicle and reasonably priced menu, don't come here! Your money will go much further and the atmosphere and experience exceptional at the Lunar Drive-in instead! A small snapshot of the menu price comparison (Lunar has a bigger menu but that's a small example). To add insult to injury we get our food and chips are barely filled, extra for sauce and their idea of a combo doesn't include chips? ! We payed through the nose for hardly any food And still have 2 hungry kids. The toilets look like a genuinely scarey scene from Beetlejuice. Never coming back!

One of my favourite places to visit! Love everything about the Dromana Drive In. The most unique and fun way to experience the movies.

Watched Peter Rabbit 2. Such a great way to see a movie with a 3yr old. The food can also be delivered to ur door. We enjoyed the experience.

Classic drive in, great little food bar inside filled with strange movie memorabilia. Bright projectors and a good quality radio station
