Dr Joe caught our beautiful baby boy! He is by far one of the best and most empathetic Obstetricians & Fertility experts in Melbourne. I couldn't recommend him highly enough! Across our two year journey, we have been so grateful to Dr Sgroi and his team for all their support and care and to finally welcome our beautiful, chunky monkey - August Ray - into the world.

I think the difference with Dr Joe is the fact that he's invested in the entire journey - from fertility through to IVF and also across into obstetrics.

Often these areas of service are separated (e.g. A different doctor may do your laparoscopy vs your doctor for IVF and then another change again if you get pregnant). Continuity of care across both gynaecology and obstetrics is one of the incredibly unique aspects of what Dr Joe offers his patients. And Elise and her team are just beautiful people who were with us every step of the ways from tear-filled visits through loss, to tears of joy at the end.

We had both our boys with Dr Joe and had a wonderful experience with him and his wonderful team of staff and midwives. I enjoyed his continuity of care and the love and support that his team provided throughout both pregnancies.

Joe made everything seem easy and less stressful! The whole team was very supportive during COVID restrictions with support person not allowed to attend appointments.

Where do I begin? Dr Joe saved our baby and we are eternally grateful! After finding out I had an incompetent cervix at my 21 week scan, Dr Joe was ready to take on the challenge and had a clear plan in place.

With his excellent stitching skills and care throughout the pregnancy, I was able to get to 39 weeks and deliver a healthy baby.

Every day we count our blessings for this little girl and that we found, by far the greatest Obstetrician around!

They are the most amazing team! Dr Joe and his midwives were so calming and supportive throughout both my pregnancies and the birth. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an obstetrician.

We had our first baby under the care of Dr. Joe and team back in Aug 2021. Throughout the pregnancy, Dr. Joe and his team were always available to us, including the times when I had to ring the after-hour number after numerous bleedings on weekends.

Dr. Joe was always calm and reassuring. He projected confidence which gave us comfort that we were in good hands. Dr. Joe had a communication style that was short and sweet, which worked well with me as I’m the type who likes to go for conciseness and clarity.

Appointments were easy to schedule and reschedule with the full time receptionist (who also booked major scan appointments for me), and while Dr. Joe himself was always busy and might have had to rush to the next emergency of the day, his team of midwives were always reachable to answer my (non-urgent) questions via emails and phone calls.

The birth day package we received (containing a storybook, some products and a Pure Baby wrap) was a very nice cherry on top.

Thank you Dr Jo and team for once again helping us through our pregnancy and birth journey. Dr Jo's calm and supportive nature meant I was relaxed and felt in control every step of the way, even when things weren't going to plan. We cannot thank you and your team enough for you continued support throughout the process. We will be back for number three!

We initially met Dr Joe when I was 6 weeks pregnant. He made us feel calm and he offered us weekly scans additional monitoring and also saved our baby. I had my 21 week scan and luckily enough we get same day appointment with him as I had to have the emergency stitch put in. Dr Joe's nature is so calm and relaxed. I put all my trust in him with my pregnancy and was blessed with my baby boy. I am forever grateful that I feel into his capable hands. He is always contactable and I always felt reassured not just by him but by his whole team. My husband and I have the up most respect for him and his team. We are forever grateful

Dr Sgroi is a truly caring and empathetic gynaecologist. He made me feel so comfortable and in good hands, by explaining every step of my IUD insertion as he went. I can’t fault his care, and should I ever choose to have children, I’ll definitely be seeking Dr Sgroi’s expertise.

The best OB! Dr Joe and his team are amazingly caring, professional and knowledgeable with fantastic bedside manners. Definitely the best around. Would 100 percent go back to him and his team for my next baby!

We saw Joe for both fertility services and obstetrics over the course of about 18 months. He and his team were fantastic and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. We felt so well supported during the fertility process and very well cared for throughout pregnancy and labour.

I had a complicated pregnancy and I am so thankful I was in the hands of Dr Joe and his team. We found his calm disposition reassuring giving us the confidence we would get the best medical care…. And we did.
I needed close monitoring for the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy and this I got. Dr Joe was monitoring our babies twice a week. At all times I felt he did what was in the best interest of our babies and I. His exceptional care, skill and knowledge guided us thru the complications and resulted in the safe delivery of our little twins. They are 3 month old now and we could not have asked for a better outcome.

I highly recommend Dr Joe and his team without hesitation.

Was referred by my GP and was recommended for his 'straight forward and honest approach' and couldn't have asked for better care, support and knowledge by Dr Joe and his entire team.
