Thank you to Dr Katz and his team at Men's Health Melbourne. From the time my GP called Dr Katz, I was in there within a matter of hours and had surgery booked within 2 weeks. The surgery went well and the staff within Dr Katz practice were fantastic. The follow up nurse is an expert and offered as much help as I require during my recovery.
Dr Katz is the best in his field and quite proud of it too. If a family member or friend were to ask me on which urologist to visit, I would undoubtedly recommend they meet with Dr Katz as he's the best in his field.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Katz and his team. Not only are they incredibly professional and technically proficient in practice, but also were extremely caring in their delivery. Every step of the way from initial consultation to surgery and recovery, I felt like I had a clear understanding of what was happening, what the plan to resolution was and was made to feel comfortable and confident in the outcomes. The work done by Dr. Katz and his team made what looked initially to be an unachievable our dream of starting a family, our amazing reality - and for that I will be forever grateful.

Darren is a fantastic surgeon I have been his patient now for a number of years and I find him to be very responsive and caring. He recently pulled out all stops to help me.it started with a call to his rooms to report pain and that afternoon he had organised an emergency admission to hospital and an number of tests. 1st visit, fee $295 charged for 10 minute chat and a quick look for pyrones. Told I need to go on tablets, it will sort itself out, there is no cure or surgical procedure to correct. A $1500 ultrasound on next visit may be a way of determining what is going on but only $200 back from Medicare. After 2 weeks I saw different changes for the worse that concerned me and I wanted to chat to get some peace of mind and maybe go ahead and book an ultrasound. I wanted to rule out a growth or something sinister.
Left many messages with his staff that he is busy in consultations with other patients, and he will call me within next few days or weeks. I said I am a patient too and concerned and need to speak to him urgently. They will just pass message on. Called 5 times over 2 days and each time needed to repeat myself on the very personal and sensitive information to the female call takers what its about, who I am, when was I there last, why not book another appointment ect. To be told all they can do is pass on messages. No call backs so again I called and told he'll call me maybe end of day, end of the week or next week. I told staff I am concerned and why can’t he call me in between patients. Again, he will call me when free. I said if he doesn't call back today, don't bother I will go elsewhere. Again, I tried for last time at 5.30pm to get a recording I have rung out of office hours. I left a message on recording expressing my lack of call backs and disappointment. Low and behold at 6.30pm Darren Katz calls me back and sounded rushed saying he's had a long day. I told him I wanted to rule out cancer or to clarify a few things for my peace of mind, to be told he will arrange staff to send me MRI request by email and if I have more questions to book another consultation. He rushed me and shut down any more question saying he will answer face to face (so he can charge me another 5 min consult $295 fee). It’s not about the money as I can afford these cost and willing to pay whatever it takes, but lack of care and push to make money is just wrong. That was the icing on the cake. I did not feel he cared about me as a patient let alone a concerned patient that just needed a few more minutes on the phone. I was going to book ultrasound. The lack of call back and follow up is very poor and to be told to book another $295 consult to spend a what would have been a few more minutes on the phone to answers maybe 2 more questions and rushing me was just so wrong. Making money seems to be the key here not patient care. I will go elsewhere to get peace of mind and proper doctor patient care without stress of just being a money grab. Extremely disappointed.

Darren is a highly trained, experienced and educated professional in his field. I went to him after having a failed procedure elsewhere and he recommended procedures which are not that common in Australia and I decided to give it a go after some research. Not only was the procedure successful but the results exceeded my expectations, recovery was speedy and timely follow up care provided. I also found Darren’s approach to be meticulous where he put me in touch with other highly rated medical experts in Melbourne during investigations. Darren is well known in the medical community and operates across some good hospitals in Melbourne. I wish Darren and his team the best in their endeavours and thank them for supporting me during my journey.

What a pleasure to have had my 1st appointment with Dr Katz after my last Urologist who was a nightmare. I know I am in good hands now and have referred a no of my friends to him.

I saw Dr Katz after a few tests, to be given the news by him I had testicular cancer. He promptly removed the testicle, confirming the earlier diagnosis. Where he excelled though, was consulting with other health professionals to extract sperm, so that my partner and I have a chance at having kids through IVF. His manner is warm and friendly, and I can’t thank him enough for what he’s done for me.

Dr Katz is very professional, passionate and above all a kind person. Very happy how fast he managed and solved my problem.

Mr Katz is a brilliant surgeon. He is extremely professional, empathetic, generous with his time and thoroughly explains procedures and options. If you’re lucky enough to get a referral to him and can get in then you will be in safe and skilled hands. (He also has quite a funny dry sense of humour too!)

Dr Katz is an exceptional professional/specialist. I would not hesitate in recommending Darren as he was able to assist /identify the cause of my pain by requesting I undergo pathology tests. Prior to visiting Darren I endured months of pain from other treating medical professionals.

I have been a frequent patient of Dr Katz over the last couple of years who in turn has performed several procedures on me from removing kidney stone to more recently performing a Urolift. Personally I am impressed with his level of expertise and most importantly the care factor he provides his clients, and yes he does have a dry sense of humour but overall the ultimate professional and an empathetic human being. Found Dr Katz to be very professional and thorough. Was very happy with end result and I would strongly recommend him.

An absolute disgrace, got referral letter rang few times no reply, I mentioned I am not feeling well.

Called again saying I am not feeling well why no one called me, when can I meet the doctor they said, Maybe September or October.

I asked if the doctor seen the referral letter answer was yes he sees all of them but no feedback if you want more information ask GP to call.
