Dr Alice Huang

Dr Huang was amazing- she is practical but warm and caring. I had a procedure done and she held my hand when I went under, which really helped calm me down.

When I woke up, there is a handwritten note from her about the procedure that was done. Really appreciate these attention to details from a doctor.

My husband and I had an excellent experience with Alice, and we are happy to announce the arrival of our little IVF miracle daughter thanks to the help and care of Alice and her team.

This will be a very honest review and I hope it helps other couples who are also experiencing infertility.

When we first met Alice I wasn’t completely sure she was the right person for us as the initial consultation was very impersonal and to the point. She told us our options, it all happened very quickly and there was a lot of information to process. I was quite emotional going into this appointment as I never thought I would have needed to go down this route and I felt a bit overwhelmed after the initial consultation.

However, we persisted and I’m so glad that we did. As we continued with Alice I learned that she strives to give you all the information you need to keep you well informed on each step of the process. Most importantly I felt that every decision she made on our journey she made based on our particular circumstance. I never felt like a number in a system who was just going through a process or working through a checklist.

Alice also cares a lot about her patients and understands what is important to them at each step. An example of this is after each egg collection she writes the number of eggs and a little message ‘well done’ on your hand so when you wake up you know how many eggs were retrieved and you don’t forget. I had a difficult journey with a ruptured ectopic and Alice called me each day while I was recovering to make sure I was ok and that I was doing everything I needed to to recover. Alice also lets you see everything on the monitor as she is scanning you, which for me was so important. I wanted to understand what was happening and learn what I was seeing and I really appreciated being shown everything at every scan, good or bad.

I remember after our ectopic I said to her, I really hope the next transfer works as I’m not sure I can mentally go through another ectopic or miscarriage again and she said something that really made an impact on me. She said, “whatever happens, we will deal with it together”. That was so important for me to hear at that stage because this process is so isolating and I really felt that I wasn’t doing this alone as Alice would be there to support and help me regardless of the outcome.

I would highly recommend Alice to other couples and I hope this review helps others on their journey to pregnancy.

After years or heart ache & disappointment the best decision my Husband & I made was to see Dr Alice Huang. Dr Alice is a fertility God & worked with us to help us achieve what felt like was the unachievable. Dr Alice always put my health first with this journey & showed amazing support & care on surgery days. I always felt like I was in the best hands & right now I’m living my biggest dream of growing my healthy son. Dr Sara was always amazing emotional support & guidance & would always follow up with us weekly & sometimes daily see that we were comfortable & on track with everything. All of my many questions were always answered at all hours. The reception & assisting staff were always very polite, positive & caring which makes a world of different in such an emotional & stressful time. Condescending, rude I was to uncomfortable to even think of surgery.also additional surgery was added to my quote, don't recommend for woman possibly for couples looking to do IVF but no. Not for woman's health. She also charged me $350 and then said she would tie my tubes without even asking me first and put it in my quote. Horrible experience. Don't put yourself through it. She's not a nice lady. Sorry. Wouldn't want to be subject on her surgery table that's why I quit my next appointment. No thanks.

What a journey this has been. We are extremely grateful for Alice for helping us achieve our miracle baby. My partner and I have struggled with keeping a pregnancy the last 3 years with multiple miscarriages. So when we saw Alice I had already lost all hope but the moment I had my first consultation with Alice I knew I had made the right decision. You can really tell that she loves what she does and so does awesome staff Katie.

Not recommend at all!
Terrible and worst experience, Alice always rushing, every appointment she was rushing, had to go to see her because she didn't explain the process clearly in first 2 appointments.charged me for 2 mins appointment just to tell me oh just do this and that.
Then ask me to get a injection on across the street without telling me why. I had to ask and she said of course is xxx.

I don’t recommend Dr Alice Huang for a colposcopy / HPV related issues. I’m sure she’s great for fertility treatments, but I did not have a great experience. The biopsy she performed was quite painful and I felt infantilised when asking questions to understand my options. I felt pressured to agree to surgery without fully understanding my options. I did not feel comfortable expressing my concerns and I felt as though my anxiety frustrated her.

I sought a second opinion, where the biopsy was painless, and received conflicting advice than what Dr Huang gave me. I am glad I trusted my gut.

The reception staff are nice and the practice itself is nearly presented. Like I said, she’s probably good for fertility treatment but I don’t recommend for other gynaecological issues especially if you are young to mid 20s.

Dr Alice is not only a professional at what she does, but she has such a lovely and calming presence which makes the experience a bit more bearable. We were successful after our third cycle with her and couldn’t be more grateful for what she has been able to do for us.

Alice and her team were welcoming and supportive from day one. After 4 years of struggling to fall pregnant we chose Alice to be our fertility doctor purely based on her bio video on the MelbourneIVF website. In 2019, we took a leap of faith and upon meeting Alice, we knew we were in safe hands. She has a comforting aura and we could tell she would be truly passionate in supporting us throughout our IVF journey. Alice answered all our questions and even went above and beyond with giving us extra information and professional advice to ease our concerns at every appointment we had with her.

After a successful second transfer, I will never forget Alice’s persistence and positivity during our first ultrasound. Our little seahorse was playing hide and seek…But Alice found him…tucked away in a cosy little corner.

We welcomed our first baby boy in Aug 2021.

I could not recommend Alice more highly. We were extremely well looked after by her. Alice's practice runs like clockwork. From the moment you walk into Dr Alice’s rooms, you are made to feel at home by the lovely girls at the front desk. Katie was amazing, every email, call, question I had was never too hard and she always communicated with care and a laugh.
I cannot fault Dr Alice. She is very matter of fact, highly knowledgeable with an exceptional bed side manner. She listened to me, explained things in detail and always did what was best for me. Alice follows her patients through from start to finish, whether it be egg collections, D&C procedures or transfers. I felt cared for the entire time. Alice made my dream of becoming a mum, a reality. I can never thank her enough.

I honestly can't speak highly enough of Alice and her team.
I had some abnormalities detected through ultrasound, so while waiting six weeks before my repeat scan, I did my research. I know of a few people who had been through Epworth, and found Alice's profile on there. Out of everyone on the Epworth page, she was exactly what I wanted.
When 6 weeks later, my GP said I needed a Gynaecologist and if I had one in mind, I requested he send me to Alice.
From the very first appointment, she put my mind at ease, took alot of time to go through my medical history which is complex, and she laid everything out on the table for me.
I had to have an operation done and Alice and the team at Epworth were fantastic. Alice even writes a note and sticks it to your bed so when you wake up you know how your procedure went. Extremely reassuring and helps put your mind at ease whilst waiting for your post op appointment.
Katie was always a pleasure to deal with and very prompt with replying to my emails. All of the receptionists were extremely helpful and patient and pleasant to deal with.
I'll be recommending Alice to anyone that asks me if I have a Gynaecologist to recommend. Such a kind, compassionate, empathetic specialist that listens to her patients and takes her time in appointments. I definitely didn't feel rushed through any of the appointments.
Thanks Alice for correcting my gynaecological problem and giving me my life back. I'm really happy with the results so far. See you in a few years.
