: Are you a rice or noodle person? Hard to say no when it comes to an aromatic dish like Mie Goreng served fresh and hot from the wok, is that right?
️: Absolutely loved everything here. I’m already craving again! Already planned my next visit next weekend. Don’t miss out on dishes like Chicken Satay with peanut sauce and refreshing desserts perfect for summer!
After trying various dishes from D'penyetz and D'Cendol I am yet to find something I don't like. The reviews and high ratings are well deserved. My absolute fave is the flavorful ikan bakar aroma (grilled whole fish with chilli sauce) - cannot get enough. Compliment to Chef for masterfully cooking and accomodating my special dietary requests and and for the kind professional staff for making sure that each order is well packed and arrived on time. Til next time
Nice place to go if you're craving for Indonesian cuisien. Nice concept and decoration. Amazing ️️The foods were so great! I really love it. The staffs are very helpful and nice. Highly recommend this place in Melbourne.
Great place for legit Indonesian food! Coming you feel you’ve been transported there. So many great dishes with an extensive menu. Absolute must trys are definitely the grilled chicken - pick the flavour that suits you most. Good to eat in small groups or large - if going large you can share quite easily, alternatively you can get single dishes. Their cendols are great quality too.
As someone who’s been to plenty of Indonesian restaurants, D’Penyetz is without a doubt, one of the best ones in Melbourne in terms of authenticity and taste. The range of dishes we ordered were all incredibly tasty and delicious, but be careful with the chilli here as it can be very spicy. Staff were very patient when we visited as a large group.
Tasty, affordable & quick service! We ordered Tahu telor, Sate ayam & Ayam bakar saus madu, with rice and krupuk on the side. All yummy! We’ll be back for more to try other dishes and the dessert.
Place: 3.5.small place, pretty tight seat setting.
Food: 5. We ordered sayur asam, ayam penyet original and ikan bakar bali. Taste amazing! One of the best in town. Remind me our hometown.
Beverage: 3.5.we ordered cendol and coconut water. The cendol is not like the way we're expected. It is too sweet and the cendol it self a bit hard to chew. It should be gooey. And the coconut water is too plain.
Clean: 5.
Service: 5.

We (3people) ordered 8 dishes in total beauces they were really tasty and full favour. My new Fav place
Happy and welcoming staff, quick service, extensive variety of delicious food, drinks and desserts - all reasonably priced. Mie goreng is a must try:)
Best value for money I've ever had! The food tasted great, just as good as the Indonesian food I tasted while in Indonesia. Most plates of food cost around $10. Great for chili lovers mild out extra hot. And the staff were friendly, patient and very helpful.
Annoyingly loud music, average food. Service was fast, food wasn't very good though and the chicken was very oily.
Came here just today, it wasnt the best indonesian restaurant in Melbourne, i may think twice to come back
the food was not hot, a bit dry (the chicken), the tahu telor also was not the best, the chilli is not that hot and tasty
but one thing i like, the price is affordable and the dishes were really came in a big portion, tbh i cannot finish my meal so its quite cheap if you wanna find food around lygon street
The price and the taste of the food was so nice and delicious. You guys must come here and try their selections of menu. So worth of money and taste
Probably one of the best (but not the best) ayam penyet / smashed chicken in Melbourne CBD area! I feel like i’m eating in Indonesia. It is so close to Indonesian ‘Home Style’ cooking / masakan rumah indo.it really tastes goodd, and the chicken is soooo juicyy with the spices like ‘sink’ in to the meat. But one thing is, for me, the chili / sambal is not spicy at all. It tastes a bit sweet and i did not feel hot or spicy. Should be more spicy with levels of spicyness
The best ayam penyet we have in Melbourne. The mee goreng kampung was also awesome and authentic. I had cendol as well for dessert, suffice to say the best cendol ever cendol with generous amount of palm sugar. I love everything we had there today. Will come back for more.
Where can you spend $10 for a fried chicken with tofu and tempe sides (add $2 for rice) in the city? Here!
Chilli is quite deliciously spicy (you've been warned) and chendol is refreshing (abit too sweet for me but you can add free water and double your drink!).
I still can't believe how cheap the fried chicken here. Definitely will return many more times.
The restaurant is amazing. The staffs are speedy and the service is amazing. The owner is very kind as well. The food is amazing. The chili has their signature taste in it which you can't find in Melbourne. The Ayam Penyet is very tasteful! You can taste the herbs and the spices. The most important is the sate or Satay. Simply the best satay in Melb hands down! Cendol is good too!
