D’Penyetz & D’Cendol Melbourne reviews
40These emojis here explain my feelings and emotions when the kind staff rapidly brought out the food to us! The whole fish was so cheap but sooooo good! Slightly sweet, a bit of tang and cooked to perfection! Had some cool little booths out the front that we sat in there were kinda like pod racers will be back there for sure
Waiting for 1/2hour, I have I asked and check on my order. Turn out it was on the bench for the whole time but the staff didn’t give me. I end up wait for no reason and my food got cold and soggy
I keep coming back here everytime I miss Indonesian food. A lot of options and all them are very good serve. Always have good experience here.
With multiple restaurants in the city, it's not hard to figure out the secret of their popularity - authentic Indonesian cuisine done well! The food is excellent, the price feels just right, but the single meat dishes don't automatically come with rice, it has to be purchased separately, just so you know.
I had lunch the other day, where I ordered the Iga Bakar Kecap (lit.soy sauce grilled (beef) ribs) which came with sambal and little salad and 2 pieces of fried tofu with plain white rice (Nasi Putih) ($19.60). The place was bustling with people but the receptionist was kind enough to suggest me dishes and so I chose this one. The food arrived quickly enough, and I dug into it. I've to say, it was just so very good! The sauce and seasoning was on point, the meat grilled just right and the portions were much more than I was expecting!
I wanted to try the Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs with rice ($22.60) and a soft drink ($3.90) which had a DoorDash offer. My waiting was finally answered with the absolute deliciousness of the beef ribs, which were juicy, tender, and the pieces were falling off the ribs, which themselves were so well grilled. Having it with rice was so good! You've to eat it to believe it. It's that good! The fried tempeh with a bit of salad was fine, but the dark chunks of beef are the stars of this dish.
My dining experience was mixed, as my seat was a tad smelly, maybe because I was close to the kitchen area or the place was small with many people dunno which, but once the food arrived everything else disappeared. I'm definitely going to visit this place again, hopefully with my friends and try out the other dishes.
If this place has 100 fans, i am one of them.if this place has 1 fan it's me.if this place has 0 fans, i am dead
Best Indo in Melbourne!
So delicious and friendly:)
We like going to see Hayley weekly it’s so good.
Get the Tahu Telor
<3
Give this restaurant the second dine-in chance and hope that they have improved.
Apparently ZERO, slow and rude service. We’ve been waiting for almost an hour just for tahu isi, and guess what? It came burn, and not even say sorry for that. Oh wow, need to take off this restaurant from our list. There are so many Indonesian restaurants in Melb with great food and service. Too bad D’Penyet, you’ll be out of the market very soon.
Really Really bad service.poor quality and tasting food.waste of money.they make u pay first then deliver worst service
It's definitely a good place to go if you missed Indonesian food. They also have many seafood varieties now. I personally recommend this restaurant for them who love authentic Indonesian dishes.
Friendly service and fast too. Well done.
I went upstairs and chose my own table. There is a qrcode that you can scan, place order and pay online. Veg fried noddles was very tasty, they serve it with tofu, tempeh, crisps and pickled veg. You also get a fried egg. I would have enjoyed it more with some chilli sauce, but need to pay extra, so skipped that.
Would visit again
Wasn't the great the peanut sauce tasted out of the can and the noddles just taste instant noodles from a packet Was Abit upset
The staff doesn’t have any qualities. Very rude. The girl with the glasses brought our plates and just drop it to the table. No manners at all. Disgusting f&b service. We asked for a knife to cut our fish and chicken she said “we don’t have a knife " and left. But the food is ok.thanks to chefs
4.5 Tasty, the signature fried chicken is really good, i ordered level 5 spicy it was just right for me. The durian cendol is a new try for me, is not something chewy but a soft and fluffy coconut taste.
Ordered grilled fish with Bali sauce. On the picture comes with salad/vegetables. I’ve got sole fish (2 pcs). When asked about that, explained to me that on the photo there are vegetables but is served solo. Order placed at counter not via QR code on the table so not a word mentioned. I asked about that salat and got a grumpy look “how dare you”. Received a few pieces of rucola and slice of cucumber. The fish itself average, not much of the meat though. Sauce fine. The steam rice was dry - not fresh cooked. Not the value for that price I’d expect, had a better meals in Indonesian restaurants in Australia for the same price.
Came this with my friend. Very enjoy. All my non-Indonesian food enjoy the food so much! Surely we will come more and more next time! Thank you so much!:)
Recommended Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne, the taste of fish with chili sauce is super nice.
Love this place as it has lots of options for non-spicy Indonesian food alongside the spicy dishes. Can highly recommend the crabs. Amazing quality and prices are fair.
Food delivery. The restaurant is quite clean and beautiful. At the time I am coming to pick up my deliveries, there are a bunch of customers are having their late dinners, I, on the other hand, am on my trips delivery food for hungry customers but I am hungry too and I haven’t had dinner.
The flavors are too strong to me
Like every dish is havign the same strength of flavor
Which is overwhelming to my palate
Those who like sweetness and an spiciness can try
A great selection of dishes and an easy to order system. Specialties such as live mud crab are available and a huge choice in drinks and desserts.
