Dosa Hut

Just finished my lunch here. Only 2 more guest were there. Still make you sign in and order electronically. No customer service - you have to ask. Ordered Rava dosa and tea. Put tea on my table while I was in wash room without cfrmg if I need it with dosa. Waited about 20 minutes for dosa but no one telling anything until I asked. Ordered a piece of idly and the lady said can't do one piece as yoy have to buy 1 serve or 2 pieces. Very unreasonable. 2 staff - good gor nothing i would say while the restraunt was empty. Rest is your luck.

Two of us went to dine here this arvo for 1st time. Way below expectations and while not to expensive we felt it was not value for money. We were attended to promptly and served water and given menus by the lanky speky Indian man. The place has a run down unhygienic look and feeling. Was not busy either being a Friday afternoon. Now the cons,

1. This guy brought a wrong order and promptly took it back.

2. One person was served their order while the other person was left twiddling his thumb waiting for almost 7-8 minutes. By the time the 2nd person received his meal the 1st person was already halfway through her meal. The meals should have been prepared or atleast served together. Just unprofessional for a so called chain of restaurants.

3. My biryani arrived and looked appetising. While it was tasty, unfortunately the curry was barely luke warm and the rice was cold. Most disappointing to say the least.

I feel the management is very poor and there is no quality and service standards or controls. Will try another outlet of this franchise chain to see if it is just this outlet or rampant widespread.

I placed mutton biryani it was getting very bad smell I didn’t eat in my life never eat like this biryani it’s not good.

First Dosa hut restaurant amongst many franchises. This is still the best one. Delicious biryanis and Dosa's are always served by friendly staff

Good South Indian savoury pancakes with different fillings and dum biryani's (slow cooked rice in a pot with different Indian spices, which is traditionally cooked with goat or chicken). Amazing staff and have been going to this branch in West Footscray since last 11 years.

I think I had here for about 15 times roughly same taste allllll the time and I appreciate it, But the place is little congested and it's hard to find the table on weekends. Try sambar samosa here it's upto next level.

Great chicken biryani and chicken dosa. Service is quick during lunchtime. Goat biryani was too mild.

Love this place, we come here atleast once a week from office for lunch. They got some good lunch specials. Highly recommended.

Hi to dosa hut owner. The chicken 65 in your shop has so much of color that it got stick to our hands and after 12 hours it's not going and when same asked to your staff they replied saying that what's it is always in chicken 65.

A fairly priced, typical South Indian restaurant in the heart of Footscray. This place is good if you want a quick, tasty Indian meal.

Dosa Hut (footscray's) biggest problem is the lack of consistency. The quality / quantity / taste seems to differ everytime I eat here. The food colouring (as mentioned in other reviews) is also real, biryani / chicken 65 / shezwan will all leave your fingers orange that won't wash off for a couple of days.

Tasty food, reasonably priced. But don't get your expectations too high.

Don't know since when chat masala is used in masala dosa and chutney. Chicken tasted bit off in chicken dosa and smelly too.
Every dish had extra salt in it

An "OK" experience, things are either too spicy or vapid. Hyderabadi biryani they serve is not even close to the authentic.

I had the worst haleem in my life today at dosa hut! Those 2 stars are for the 65 biryani and other snacks like samosa chat and mirchi.

I went for lunch with my friends and had an amazing time. The food was just top notch. Crispy goat is a must try for all the meat lovers!

The staff are so soft spoken and so polite.

This is my go to place for indian food at the moment. The dishes are full of flavours, tastes great and also at reasonable price. I love the biryani here (that's what i order most of the time) and it comes at good portion size. I highly recommend it to others who have not dined in here.

One of the best restaurant when I came to Melbourne. But now when ever I order take away food, they don't really care about it and its not just once that it had happened. 65 biryani had two types of cooked chicken and probably was cooked the day before, dry rice and terrible taste. If I dined in may be it'll be different?

Reasonably priced, not bad for a quick bite, they need to fix their entrance door as it does not shut properly and during chilly winters its tuff to stay warn!

The worst biryani I ever had. Found Only red colour rice with few lamb pieces, u guys sell it as biryani but that can be renamed as red rice with lamb which has no biryani flavour.
After eating this meal me and my husband felt so uneasy that I can easily say this was not a fresh one.
Food is Pathetic guys.

We had lunch here with 11 people and food came quick and service was excellent. Tasty biryani and dosa!

I had idly and sambar. Tasted bad as if been served left overs. Won’t recommend anyone to go here. Disappointing experience.
