I ordered a fly screen door over a month ago. I just rang to enquire the progress. Was told that it was manufuctured from Sydney amd need to be shipped to Melbourne. What can't it be manufuctured in Melbourne?

We were only coming to have a look and on meeting Ash we ended up with a new front door, a new flysceen door, a new back door and bought a barn door. While we were in the store, Ash was very approachable and has excellent customer service. He even came by to make sure all the doors were going to fit. We had our doors installed by Matthew, and he, too, was very professional and accurate. I just want to say a big thank you, and l will be back Ash for internal doors.

I am upset with the poor time management and organisation of this business.
I ordered my front door and security door on Jan 6 this year. Till today, June 18th, I’m still waiting for my security door. It took over four months to finally have my front door installed and as of today there is no clear schedule on installing the security door.
I have no idea how much longer I’m going to have to wait. I wonder if half a year is a common wait period for such job.
Someone who is looking for a new door may reference my waiting period.

From meeting Ash in the store, changing our (my) mind for over an hour - thank you Ash for your patience:), to the delivery of our doors was an experience of professionalism and competence. The doors were hung by a experienced fitter. We were both extremely happy with the end results. Thank you once again for your help in updating our home.

Where to begin.
To say we are disappointed in this company is an understatement. I should have trusted my gut initially from reviews but hoped we would have a better outcome.

Firstly, the service from Ashley at the Footscray branch was great. He was very helpful to find doors for us and give us our quote, in October 2022.

We had our space measured at this time for the quote which were confirmed by us and all was correct. We then payed our first payment of $1200. We then waited for formal measurements to confirm and place order. We were re scheduled by the person twice for very questionable reasons, and very last minute. Which is not ideal for us and our work schedules. Finally we had someone come to measure in November, and all seemed fine. Our further invoices still had the initial correct measurements written on them and we payed a further $800 to place the order.

By December we received a message that our doors were on the water and due to arrive mid jan.
Late jan/early Feb we had heard nothing at all. I contacted the branch and was told our doors were in the warehouse and to contact customer care. I did this and they confirmed our doors were indeed there and had been for a little while. Why we weren’t contacted, I don’t know?
We then booked in a tentative date for installation… mid march. I called early March to confirm and to also maybe see if we could change this date. To then be told, we hadn’t actually been confirmed booked in for this date by installers? Our date for installation was now late march.

The day of installation, the doors and installers arrived to our house…. To THEN be told they were the wrong size! By over 300mm! They measured again and confirmed the measurements from the quote and invoices. So our doors were taken away and we were told they would need to re make them all over again…. Another 10-12 weeks minimum.

We called customer care straight away and there was much confusion as to where the measurements went wrong. Very frustrated, we asked for a discount/compensation if we were to go ahead with this order. Which we needed installed by April latest.

Finally speaking with a senior specialist, who took the time to take on our case and find answers or solutions for us after speaking with 3 previous people regarding this. We were told there were 3 (!) different measurements on their system. One was the 300mm difference. But could not tell us the dates of them and who took them. So how can we be confident they would get it right again? And why did no one pick up on this or question it?

After explaining our frustration and disappointment, higher management could only offer us a $400 discount which would have been the final payment due. We had payed you $3600 already! With no doors after 6 months! And to then have to wait another 2-3 months? No thank you! Absolutely poor. Sure you ‘understand this was not our fault’…. And that’s all we can be compensated.

We now have no doors, not able to use this room for the purpose we needed which will cost us more money. Will be finding anyone else to make and install doors for us. Thank you for refunding us our money as requested, but we will not be recommending doors plus. Highly frustrating experience.

If we had any feedback for your company.maybe you need to change your processes to confirm measurements with your customers before going ahead. If we had any documentation or had been asked to confirm the final measurements (instead of just the quoted measurements) we would have been able to tell you straight away that they were wrong. This would have saved this issue and not wasted our time.
Just to top it off on refund, we get an email for ‘job complete’ and ‘enjoy your new doors’…

We can though, say thank you to Ashley and Lauren for their assistance and patience through this process at the beginning and end but everything in between in our opinion was extremely poor.

I replaced all the doors in my renovated home. Ash was really patient and helped me with my many questions. As I was on a time deadline, he came and measured all the doors to make sure we were able to start the process.

My doors were installed on the agreed date with some doors arriving earlier than expected. Ali did a great job hanging the doors- my house is old and crooked and it took a while to get them to fit.

Very happy with the service provided at Doors Plus.

Hopeless service standards. Never call /show up for booked appointments. I Had to follow up myself numerous times as no one shows up or calls about appointments missed by the fitters. No information provided by doorsplus. I plan my day and stay at home to accommodate for the fitter and nobody shows up. Worst ever service. I had to follow up numerous times as they keep rescheduling after missing appointments and talk to me as if they are doing me a favour. In fact I paid close to two and half thousand dollars for a single door and waited for 4 months.
Never ever will I be going to there, forget about recommending.

Never trust door plus. I gave order for one door. They said it will take 8 to 12 weeks. But after 16 weeks door was not fixed had to cancel my order

Order from 9th Oct booked in for installation for 17th Nov now been postponed by another week. 6 weeks to instal 1 door. Wow

Order from 10 Oct still being shipped to the warehouse! I keep getting told to wait a couple of weeks every time I call. At this point I don't even think they check the status before they say this. All this trouble for a single doorway. Today the customer service rep wasn't even sure the installation will happen this year! Worst decision of my life.

Dont repair faulty door handles less that 6 months old although they say they will. I rang twice and then actually went in to store - each time saying they would follow up - never happened
Avoid - bad quality and bad after service

We had an awkward bathroom/European laundry space in a brand new apartment. The doors would hit each other and made it unfit for use. I took photos into the show room and the Footscray team provided me with a variety of solutions and price points and we selected a bifold door to replace a regular inward-facing door. Due to the Covid-19 backlog it was difficult to find contractors to complete a measure but the team was transparent about the backlog before taking payment and did meet the time period they promised. The install was done quickly and the space is very practical for use now. Would recommend, but be patient on timelines given the pressure all businesses of this nature are under coming out of long lockdown periods in Melbourne.

While we are happy with the sliding back doors recently installed, there are a few issues with the detailing: the corners of the framework aren't aligned, nails and screws are exposed, and the panels were pre-painted, meaning the only way to hide the nails and screws is to patch up the holes. I was also charged an extra $30 cash (the tradie wouldn't complete the job otherwise) so he could apply some kind of gap filter between the door frame and the wall. Oh, and when he finished he just dumped all the trash (cardboard packaging, off-cuts, etc.) into the middle of my backyard. The door itself works fine, but the lack of professionalism means we will actively tell people to avoid Doors Plus in future.

Just don't. If I had the capacity to explain I would, but I actually have too much trauma around the installation of that door, that reliving that experience again is too much. Just don't. I want to give zero stars, and everytime I hear that annoying commercial jingle I get PTSD. They are so much fuss.so much. Just don't.

Terrible experience with this company. Ordered wooden French doors, lovely service when purchasing. However the installation was appalling- rubbish left everywhere, lots of imperfections, unprofessional installer. Definitely do not recommend.

Had a very poor experience with this shop. Ordered a door in Aug and after many follow ups and changes in delivery dates finally got the door installed four months later. The COVID excuse does not apply when the shop didn't even bother to return the calls and I have to chase them over and over for response. Then they promise a date and nothing happened and I had to follow up again and hearing that the door is not ready AGAIN! The final straw was that for the first time that they called me, was when the door arrived and with in few minutes I get a call instead of an apology for 4 month delay and if I am happy with the door, they were asking for the balance to be paid immediately over the phone or the door won't be installed! Very poor customer service, rude and unhelpful. I won't do business with this shop again.

Here's a sample of what to expect. A recent installation of our door somewhere in 3029 post code.

When called out the guy installing re: stains & quality control, the person became defensive and say it'll wipe off with normal cleaning solution. Tried it several times, didn't work.

Escalated to main office - 1 week they called but total silence thereafter.

Will leave the review at 1 star unless rectified

Not expecting this service & quality for a purchase of ~3k worth bifold door

I wanted to buy a barn door with lock. I had threee basic needs - should be functional, should be lockable, delivery within agreed time. Firstly, from a technical standpoint they were not able to and more importanty not really willing to explore ideas. The standard response being - we dont offer locks. I had to suggest solutions and take up the inherent risk to get them to agree. Even after I sent them the dimensions, they took one month to get back to e with drawings. And when I called them after three months on the planned installation date, they informed me it will take another 1.5 month minimum for the installation. No proactive communication, no call bacls to calls from my end - its quite an apathetic attitude at the very best. I still have to have the door installed so there might be more surprises ahead.

DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY BEFORE THE INSTALL!

Save your money and a lot of headache for yourself and do not go to Doors Plus for any job. They promise you a world and do not deliver. We had a door installed and were told we will get a finished product. After install there was a gap under the door. The carpenter blamed the sales person and Doors Plus blamed the carpenter (when the carpenter was sent by Doors Plus) and then they said we needed a bricklayer before the door was installed, which was never brought up before the job.
They are not responding to the email anymore. We will be raising with VCAT. But please do not trust anything they promise before the install as that is definitely not what they deliver as per numerous other review below. I only wish I had looked at these reviews earlier and taken my business somewhere else.
