40My new almost daily hot chocolate and mint slice.doing terrible things for my waistline, but yummy to say the least. Staff are always polite and appear to build amazing rapport with their regulars.
Amazing cafe. With such nice employees so kinda and helpful. And the service is great.
The food is terrific so much flavours and the presentation is just astonishing.
The location is so relaxing I love the outdoor area.
Love the yummy experience I had here. Great service and the food served was just delicious.
Be back soon …
What an amazing place. Food was amazing here the best smash avocado
Burgers were all awsome and the service was perfect.
We will be back thank you.
They say they are an Italian place but all they make is burgers… I’ve been there three times and they always had a different menu. It gets a bit confusing. Also, when you see the interior design you think it’s a cool place, but it’s full of 85 years young people… not too much action for us ;)
We had an amazing time last Saturday trying the new menu at Donato Cafe in Mount Martha.
Chef David Wilson is responsible for all these incredible creations including the triple burger stack and the huge dessert tower
We also tried their salmon benedict, smashed avocado and pancakes which were pretty in pink but also really scrumptious
Donato is a beautiful cafe in every way, the interior is gorgeous and the staff is lovely so the trip from Melbourne is totally worth it
They also have a greenhouse outside where you can pick your own hydroponic lettuce and herbs which is super cool
Featuring:
1️⃣ OG beef burger stack
2️⃣ Dessert tower
3️⃣ Salmon eggs benedict
4️⃣ It's smashing time
5️⃣ Holy stacked pancakes
6️⃣ Matcha latte
7️⃣ Beetroot latte
The staff/team members at Donato always make me feel at home every time I visit. The food not only looks good but is absolutely delicious! Kudos to chef and team! Oh and it was so handy that they have a Tesla EV charger on premises for guests to use too! Aces across the board!
Beautiful food, friendly staff and they go out of their way to make everything just right for you.
First place to go if you're in the area
Definitely will be back!
Thankyou to Chef David Wilson!
This is one of my new favourite brunch spots! Not only was the food delicious but the staff were so friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend Donato to anyone looking for a tasty brunch spot with great service!
Great outdoor seating area. Eggs Benedict was great! Silky hollandaise however we didn’t really like the Granola. Could have used a little more yoghurt? Other than that, a must stop on your way to and from the beach.
We had a wonderful breakfast. They were very busy. Only doing take away (you can sit and eat there out of take away boxes). Due to lack of staff.
The waitress that helped us with our order
was so friendly and attentive.
Breakfast was lovely.
I think I'd like a job there!
We Wooli be back.
We have been regulars since we moved to the area. Not only do they have great casual meals or coffee, with both inside and outside dining, they have a great selection of herbs in the hothouses at the back. Not that I have one, but there is also a Tesla charging point in the Carpark.
Terrible experience, the lady who served me (I'm guessing one of owners) was nothing but rude. It seemed like me ordering my coffee was a burden on her day.
Had the same service in the past from this place, owners just don't value customers and are horrible
Avoid at all costs, better elsewhere
Went for breakfast both my wife and I ordered the AVO Smash. My wife ordered extra bacon for $5 and I $4 for mushroom as per the ‘extras’.
No issues with the extra bacon however to receive one medium sized mushroom for $4 isn’t good enough. I’m sure for the price I don’t think it’s too much to ask to receive an adequate amount of mushrooms. Granted the menu states ‘mushroom’ however you also expect value for money. Unfortunately it’s things like this you remember that question whether you will return. Tip.charge $5 and provide a decent amount of mushrooms as an extra. All people expect is value for money, and if they don’t get it they will go elsewhere.
In summary, I wouldn’t go here again and wouldn’t recommend it. There are so many better places on the mornington peninsula.
We came here for lunch and I am really confused about why there is such a fuss about this place.
I found the staff to be quite disinterested and not very friendly. They weren’t rude, they just weren’t friendly and everything seemed like a bit of an effort whenever you asked for something.
In relation to the food, it was pretty average for what we paid. One of the things we ordered was a salad and it had pumpkin in it which was really hard and not nice at all.
Finally, if you do decide to go, I recommend you sit outside. We sat inside and it was really quite noisy because of the concrete floors.
On arrival they welcome you with a friendly smile.
I have been hear several times and the meals have been very appetizing.
Would recommend to all a must place to visit

So disappointed, after hearing great reviews from friends, thought we'd try it out for lunch. Aside from the all day breakfast items, menu was very limited. Also restaurant is not licensed- byo only. We had the chicken burger and the gnocchi.
Chicken burger was good, delicious bun and good texture, a little lacking in flavour. But it came with a pile of roast potatoes - like, would have been 4 roast potatoes. One needs to ask the question.why? They were not that good and a very poor substitute for chips. The gnocchi was very soft as if way overcooked and my lunch companion took 2 bites and disliked it so much she didn't eat any more. Surprisingly when our plates were cleared the waitress made no comment about the left over food. Maybe this is the norm.
Due to lack of alcohol, for drinks we had a coffee and a Coke, coffee was good, but the can was just plonked on the table, no glass or straw. Was I to drink out of the can? In a reataurant?
This was not a good experience.
Went for breakfast and was really disappointed.
- seated with time limit (totally understandable as table was reserved for later). But then no service given so that we could quickly order and eat to leave the table before it was needed again. (No menu given, no water, had to request for our order to be taken).
- you visually see (and feel) chaos among staff (which was surprising as it wasn’t overly busy)
- pancakes were a tiny portion
- below average coffee
- massive line when it was time to pay (I waited almost 10 mins in line to pay).
Went for tea/coffee. Tea came in a pot but with a tea bag which these days is unacceptable, especially for the price you pay. Coffee was only just average. I’ll stick to buying hydroponic herbs.
