Generous portions at a very good price point. Not to mention $5 beers all the time!

Super quick and good service.

Food itself was tasty and full of flavour, but I found chewy bits in the beef which was the only negative thing I could say - but you get what you pay right?

Nice atmosphere and vibe too!

We had the beef curry udon and don don box (sukiyaki and teriyaki chicken). Taste was ok considering the price. Totally worth it.
Less than $14 for the don don box and $12 for the beef curry udon.

Food is really good and well priced. They definitely have a mouse problem tho, smells like rodent in the restaurant and was mouse poop in the corner where I was sitting…. Get takeaway because my appetite was ruined by the smell of mouse

Relatively cheap eat near the University of Melbourne. The portion was big and food was alright. Would skip the karage for beef probably. Too much flour in the chicken karage and you get overwhelmed after a while. Pretty crowded during late lunch on a weekday noon.

Can’t believe there is such valuable Japanese curry don. It will be my lunch place in the future.

Since Don Don at the Melbourne centre closed we have missed it a lot. Found the same restaurant in the Fitzroy area. It seems busy during lunchtime, lucky we didn't have to wait for a table. I definitely will come back again.

Lots of chicken in the bowl.and taste not bad (miso style base soup) BUT toilet absolutely disgusting

Great food, great portions, great price! Also the ambience ist quite nice, but the music could be a little bit less loud.

Essentially the only restaurant in the CBD/Carlton area serving food at sensible prices.

Got the Don Don Box today for $11. Great value for money in today's economy. Tasty, too. Good to see they took feedback onboard and now use reusable stuff for dine-in options:)

As a vegetarian there’s only a few options available and the tofu curry being only rice, tofu and a small amount of yellow stuff I don’t know the name of is a disappointment my partner asked for extra this time and they only added one slice of zucchini, this isn’t a complete dish, why is it too hard to add anything else like pumpkin or carrot and broccoli? This isn’t a problem with your other meat menus so why is the options for vegetarians so bad if it’s that the tofu costs more then just put a higher price on the option we will pay it as there’s not many options available to choose from

Good is good for value as always, but it’s getting more crowded, now have to line up if you come after 12: 30pm

Would have given 4-5 stars for food but then I saw a rat running around the restaurant when I went in and the staff member I informed didn't seem surprised or to care

I ordered a Chicken Curry. A few people let me know that this place has gone downhill over the years. The chicken was not the usual quality, ⅓rd had fatty (too chewy,) pieces and I left them. The curry sauce was like from a quick-make packet. Next day I woke up not feeling good, like I had eaten something not quite right. I struggled with my belly all day and sipped on water only, until 4pm. Very disappointing as I love this place. I will still give the one in the City (Don Don,) a try when I go there next. Perhaps it was a new chef? , perhaps a bad night? But the chicken supplier definitely needs to change. I would rather pay
$1-2 more for better quality. I nearly gave two stars, but after years of patronage, I decided to give it a pass. Ty

Shockingly inedible pork katsu don. The meat tasted off and made me feel sick after having a few bites. Had to throw away the whole box of food as it was inedible. Will never come back to this place.

Too good. This is 松屋 in Melbourne.
I smashed the food under 5mins.no time to take photo.
P. S.there is ONE free parking spot right in front of the restaurant!
