Dohtonbori-Japanese Okonomiyaki Restaurant reviews
65Great place great food great people I went there for my birthday and had a blast they have the best hot fudge mini cake I really recommend this amazing place
We had a great time at Dhotonbori. The Hiroshima Okonomiyaki was oishii desu. Paired with kimchi soup and it was a complete meal. The staff we had was super friendly, happy to have a laugh, and worked the teppan superbly. Loved it and will be back for my okonomiyaki fix!
Authentic style Japanese okonomiyaki, with other dishes, freshly cooked tepanyaki style at your table by the friendly staff. Unfortunately about half of both food and drinks menu was unavailable when we visited.
Worst customer service ever. Waitresses are rude and speak in very abrupt way. Also, the menus needs to have more English words/names for the meals, and the place appears to have no covid-19 protocol whatsoever.
We had a most pleasant and enjoyable dining experience at lunchtime yesterday at this establishment. We had Hiroshima style pork okonomiyaki and pork belly with kimchi okonomiyaki, both delicious and deftly and expertly prepared on a hot plate in front of us by the friendly young chef. We ended our lunch with iced macha with mixed soft serve. We will definitely return to try other dishes. Domo arigato to all the friendly staff.
Ordered via Uber EATS, they didn't start it until the driver arrived. When I called to ask them about it they said to wait one second then hung up the phone, second phone call they 'just received the order' despite ordering about 45 mins before this point and the driver there to pick it up!
I have only had takeout okonomiyaki from Dohtonbori, so I can only imagine that eating in would be better. The okonomiyaki is Hiroshima style, which is thick and full of noodles. They look fairly small, but are a very satisfying meal.
AWESOME Food Highly recommend. Staff are kind and understanding. Amazing feel to the place aswell, cozy Japanese.
Came here for a date night with my partner last month. Great experience, 5 star service and all the food was delicious! Would recommend to my friends
Great wagyu beef with garlic fried rice, deliciously marinated chicken yakitori. Friendly service, thank you!
Honestly great. First place in Melbourne I’ve had okinomiyaki and it was amazing. Staff were excellent.
Authentic Japanese experience with amazing food. We had the seafood hiroshimiyaki, M8 wagyu teppanyaki and the standard sashimi. Both the wagyu and sashimi melted in our mouths. The hiroshimiyaki was thin, and crispy and absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommended.
Brings the authentic experience of Dohtonburi right to Melbourne! Try cooking your own okonomiyaki if you’re game, or one of the friendly staff can cook it for you. Seems like the perfect great place for dinner with a large group of friends.
The okonomiyaki is cooked to perfect. I love to see the chef cooked in front of us. So much better than food court version. The hiroshimayaki is even better. You need to use a mini metal shovel to take it from the hot plate. It is very tasty and very different. It is soft and moisty. The other hot dishes and tempura are the best compliment to the star dish. I will definitely come back next time and try their all you can eat with group of friends. The price is above average, but worth it. Table and seats are very comfortable. Service is fantastic. The bonito and seaweed on the table are must with the star dish
Excellent service and very nostalgic of our trip to Japan. Love the Monja, Horoshiyaki and yakitori.
Very good food, you can enjoy your own cook or help by staff.the staff is very friendly i will back again with my friend next time
Friendly staff and a comfy atmosphere with music to ensure things dont get too quiet.
Food is fresh and the okonomiyaki and such is cooked right in front of you.
Would come back again.
Rude and racist staff. When we tried to get a table the people in front of us were told 45 minute wait and then when we went we were told fully booked. Will not return to a racist restaurant!
Waiter, yong, is absolutely amazing. He looks after us and were returning customers. Food is fantastic and if there is a little wait it's totally worth it. Yong has been so good to us everytime we come in. He keeps checking in on us and everyone around us. He has been running that place so well
A little bit of Japan in Melbourne
We celebrated a joint birthday dinner with 16 people at Dohtonbori Docklands it was fantastic!
Great food and service and the banquet option was real value.
Thanks guys we had a blast and the food reminded us of our Japan travels.
