DOC Pizza & Mozzarella Bar Delicatessen reviews
50This could be the best Italian deli in Melbourne! And the pizza was perfect. I forgive them for lying about wild mushrooms - there were only champignons - but it was very tasty nonetheless.
Overall a local favourite boasting the best authentic pizza on the peninsula with a deli to die for.
On entering you’re greeted with an modern European vibe often packed to the brim with people. Half of the time I have visited I have had to wait longer than one should for service at the front counter however I will note it is never because people are just standing around.
For dine in customers you’re seated in quite close quarters to other diners which can also be difficult for guests needing accessibility options. The outdoor seating is more spacious and accompanying subject to weather conditions.
Once you are seated you are greater by your server promptly and shown the menu and drinks orders taken.
Even in busy times the food is not usually too long due to the simplified menu that does not disappoint.
The food is absolutely Devine. I can find no flaw in the food which a quick search of my previous reviews will tell you I’m not the easiest to please.
The deli is stocked with an abundance of cured artisan meats and cheeses that we have often treated ourselves to, along with the fresh produce from the stores that screams freshness.
The takeaway service here can be disheartening. Whilst the food is wonderful there is no online or third party ordering system leaving you to either que for days or try your luck on the phone. Often the phone rings out endlessly.
Price. A touchy subject. There is no denying this is no budget feed. However given the quality of food and in comparison with the trend on Main Street it does in my opinion feel appropriate. The big eater who wants to be money conscious will be wise to have a light snack before and enjoy a shared pizza leaving enough in the kitty to splurge on deserts.
Came here for a birthday dinner and ordered the margherita, which was a bit of a panic order since after a couple of drinks the italian menu was even more confusing and lackluster to an untrained western palette.
I am what is best described as a growing early 20s male and can inhale a nice dish of food, i found myself starving after leaving the premise. Now dont listen to everything i say as a decider, the pizza was wonderful and the sauce exquisite - im just someone that has to eat dinner at home before eating dinner out to actually feel full. I am in no way a contributing statistic to the already 2/3 overweight australian population either, just a guts.
Would recommend if you enjoy splurging your hard earned dollar for a meal of adequate italiana taste. Would return if someone else was paying!
Delicious food, pricy but the good is worth it. Almost always busy, noisy, and inside hot. Eating outside on a nice day is the way to go.
Have been many times to DOC Mornington. Pizza had minimal cheese and sweet pizza usually has marinated strawberries, but not today. It was ok but not wow like usual.
Must have pizza! After trying so many pizza restaurants this place ticks every box. The freshness and flavours stay in your mouth only wanting for more. The place has a great vibe and sitting there makes you feel like being in Italy. Wonderful selection of pizza looking forward to our next visit there again.
Rang up to book a table for 19 people today, I was informed by the telephone staff (post speaking to a manager) that they would take the booking, however, the meal would have to be a set meal per person of approximately $39- $49 each. Pretty disgraceful when the website page states the average price is $60 for two people to dine here. Therefore, no booking made by myself!
Buon Appetite! This restaurant definitely ticks all the boxes for me; great food, friendly service, attentive staff whom are generally bilingual. A friendly bustling place to practice your Italian language skills
These guys are the best! We have been to Carlton and the Mornington and the Mornington one is so so so fun! They had crazy fun birthday songs, the food is off the hook and the service is pleasant and warm. Love it worth the money every time xx and the prossecco is the cleanest freshest tastiest one u will find!
I love this place. They make excellent thin crust pizzas that are very Italian authentic. Same goes for the coffee and Italian style cake and biscuits. It is a busy place but the service has ALWAYS been polite, friendly and accommodating. There's outside seating and also bar & stool seating. DOC's also has a well sourced delicatessen. Very reasonably priced for lunch.
