The pasta is below average…. Worst part about it is when you tell the waitress the pasta was below average and seen it’s not even eaten…. Not wanting a discount or anything but just seeing what the waitress does…. Absolutely nothing not even to mention to the chef or the manager…. Typical Australian way just works to work and that’s it! Entitled!

Our choice for an early lunch yesterday. The al fresco dining area was so inviting. There were three male waiters all attentive to customers' needs.
After we ordered our waiter brought us complimentary bread saying it meals would be a while. I thought that was a nice touch.
I ordered gnocchi with lamb. It was a huge serving and delicious. There was no issue with taking a doggy bag.
My husband has the fettuccini with prawns. He loved the flavour of the sauce and there were plenty of large prawns. His only criticism was that the pasta was not cooked enough. Yes, he understands al dente. This was TOO al dente.
I'd like to go back some time.

The mushroom pappardelle was disgusting. The sauce tasted like boiled mushrooms. I added a lot of salt and it was still not palatable. I used to come here a lot but I won't ever return again.

I arrived to the shop at 7: 50, they said is was not open yet. So I was waiting outside.they did not care I was there and they started to served to another customers and they said was different because they were regular customers. It was really annoying because the guy was so rude.

I’ve never eaten such bad pasta in my life!
The mushroom pappadelle was ok nothing to rave about but ok!
The prawn linguine was tasteless and disgusting!
I can’t tell you how bad it was!
The meatballs were burnt and scrapped and served and you could taste the burnt flavor but couldn’t be bothered complaining!

The waitress was amazing and nice!
Asked for bread and they bough out 3 pieces which were the size of my finger!

The staff liked to congregate around the kitchen where the chefs looked obviously bored and couldn’t n be bothered cooking properly as it showed in the way we were served our dishes!
Would never go again! And no wonder everyone on lygon was flat chat but this was empty!

Next time we know to make a booking elsewhere so we don’t get left to places like this!

Our food was delicious. We ordered the antipasto and the authentic Italian food was amazing! The lamb gnocchi and lobster and prawn fettuccine was equally amazing. Service was a pleasant experience and food came out quick on a busy night.

I think there’s potential with the good atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food wasn’t fantastic.

We ordered a platter to start along with a spaghetti and a ‘pasta of the day’. The first two were dry, and the ‘pasta of the day’ was too oily. The taste itself was fine and the items on platter were really interesting.

I’ve personally had better Italian food elsewhere on Lygon St.

This is an excellent little authentic Italian restaurant. The best of Melbourne on show with all the staff being native Italians and you can tell by the knowledge, care taken with explaining regional areas and food influences. Service excellence, Francesco was particularly engaging advising us about wine pairings with the specials and then sorting us with an off menu bottle of wine. The pasta was fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned and the truffle on one of the dishes was incredible. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant if you're looking for a destination Italian in Melbourne.

We had the pasta special, rucola salad and aperol spritz. Delicious. Fast. Friendly staff. Good atmosphere.

Terrible pasta - bland, soggy, overcooked and tasted like every ingredient had been boiled in the same pot of unsalted water for 40 minutes.
Also baffling how my friend and I ordered the exact same pasta dish and one came out swimming in a watery soup and the other was bone dry.
Service needs work also.

One of the best place for brunch! The coffee's superb also. Good job for all the chefs and employees for the excellent services!

After having a lovely experience here a couple of months ago I decided to return again and this time with a friend who had never dined here.
Being a Friday night with no reservation we expected we’d have to wait for a table to be available but no much to our surprise there there were plenty of tables available and no line up for people to be seated!
What we did however have to wait for was for one of the many wait staff who were walking past (staff were either serving food or wandering past empty handed) to seat us or just simply acknowledge our presence.

Food was good. The pasta was nothing special and certainly not worth the price. I will say however the entree of meatballs were delicious!

Tried to get our servers attention to pay but had no luck so i got up to pay and once again was completely ignored by staff. When I was finally acknowledged it was by the bar tender told me to speak to my server to pay our bill……wow thanks I didn’t think of that.
Sat back down at our table and finally got to pay the bill. Make sure you check the receipt as there were extra charges on there that we never asked for nor received.

Plenty of other restaurants in Carlton that are more deserving and have staff who are a lot friendlier and acknowledge you!

Incredibly average pasta, I really do recommend paying your mother a visit to get a better spag bol than this joint. Ps. Don’t get the octopus you only get 2 pieces

Pasta was amazing! Perfectly cooked and so pretty we ordered other things too and they are all good.

Great tasty food! The spaghetti al pomodoro sauce is spot on, and the lasagna was awesome. The half size option for the lasagna was the perfect size. The outdoor seating was comfortable, and particularly nice on a warm sunny evening. Staff were nice and friendly. We look forward to our next visit!

Chewy, dense gnocchi Food serving sizes are small. Menu is completely over priced. Flavour is decent if you get the kitchen on a good day.

Great place to have brunch in Carlton. Loved bruschetta especially the brioche bread in it. Would recommend anyone to try out. Service was great as well, friendly and fast served!

Glad they’re doing breakfast now. We had the blue swimmer crab scrambled egg, mushroom bruschetta and nduja toast. Everything was delicious. Coffees are spot on too.

Had better service at McDonald's. After a "ok" meal n terrible service, no follow-up "would you like a coffee? " Asked at 8.45 "sorry we've turned the machine off" luckily only been once.never again.
