Merv and Shelly are life long canine people, so rest assured that your furry friend is in the safest and caring accomodation around. Staff are super friendly and the dogs love the social interaction with their other four legged friends.

We had our two babies Boe (border collie) and Che Che (staffy cross Kelpie) for a week whelst we went away.
They did a great job, they were so easy to deal with when dropping off, picking up, ringing to check in during the week and when paying.
We also book our babies in for a wash and cut and they came home all lovely and clean.
After comparing a few kennals in the area, Dishlickers is definitely best value for money.

DO NOT GO HERE. My beautiful 4 year old golden retriever was booked into here for 6 days last week. On the drop off I asked to inspect the property and was quickly shown the area as it was raining. In my heart I was not confident on leaving my girl here but as I was due to leave for my honeymoon early Sunday morning I was out of time to find anywhere else. I was assured by staff that Maisy would be relaxed, happy and safe here. On Monday morning I received a call from Dishlickers that Maisy had been rushed to the Vet due to getting wire in her leg. I was advised that Maisy had been left outside in her outdoor play area whilst staff took another dog to the reception area, they said they were gone less than 10 minutes and Maisy had chewed through the wire fencing and put her leg through it, causing a 12cm piece of wire to become lodged in her front left leg. As I was in the Whitsundays I became very distressed and called the Vet immediately. After speaking with our Vet regarding Maisy's injury they advised me that it was extremely unlikely she had chewed the wire as she had NO blisters, ulcers, markings on her gums or teeth that would be visible if she had infact done what Dishlickers are claiming she was doing. Dishlickers advised they knew she had been chewing the wire even though they were not present and did not witness her doing it. Maisy needed surgery to have the wire removed, was on 5 days worth of painkillers and antibiotics due to the lack of care from the staff at Dishlickers. When I left Maisy with them I asked if she would be safe and they assured me that staff would be present at all times when dogs are outdoors and they are not far from the kennels when the dogs were inside. As I was not able to pick her up I had to get friends to pick Maisy up from the Vet and give her 24 hour care until I returned on Thursday. Dishlickers in no way have accepted any responsibility for what has happened to my dog and it has cost me $607.55 to have my dog "cared" for by them. My dog is not the same, she is sad and anxiety riddled. Thanks for "caring" for Maisy and ruining my honeymoon. This dog is my world and its now going to take some serious work to get her back to her normal self. We will never be back.

Merv and the staff at Dishlickers Resort were fantastic! The staff were very friendly (patting and meeting my two dogs on arrival) - within 5 minutes my dogs had forgotten about me and were happily taken off to play. One of my dogs needs heart medication and the staff looked after that easily - in fact, I miscounted the tablets for the time away and the staff rang my Vet and travelled to pick up more tablets so that he was OK. These guys go above and beyond.
The photo that the guys set up and took of our dogs in Christmas bows was a big surprise and greatly appreciated when we picked them up.
My dogs were happy and healthy on pick up.

I have put my dogs in here for many years now and they have always provided great service. There prices are quite reasonable compared to some places and very friendly helpful staff.

First time here I sent my to dogs here. Unsure what they fed my staff however in 2 days he lost a little under 2kgs. He has a strict healthy diet at home and gets a lot of exercise. Our dogs are up to date with vaccines and are vet checked every 6 months without fail. Both dogs came home and have kennel cough.

Very disappointed and will not be returning.

My dog has issues. Yet he came home tail wagging and very happy. It's great that I have somewhere to board my dog that I can trust to take good care of him

Dishlickers Resort is a dog friendly kennel, dog minding, resort, where you know your pup will be cared for short or long stays, for whatever reason you need somebody to care for your pet.

We have used Dishlickers for a number of years on the recommendation of a fellow colleague who breeds and shows dogs. This was ostensibly for short term accommodation for our highly agitated, difficult to settle German Shorthaired Pointer. (inherited) and Jack Russell. The staff have always been fabulous and treated our dogs with loving care. Even the long term accommodation when we have been on holidays has meant that we have been greeted with healthy and happy dogs. Thank you to all at Dishlickers, especially Merv and Jess.

First time here and have two Huskies both with kennel cough after staying at Dishlickers for the first time. Live in Dinner Plain and went here on the back of recommendations. Will be recommending this acknowledgement cease as a risk to the rest of the community including the sled dog racing community as could be a risk to all.
