Dennys Kitchen / Black Sheep Geelong

I went to Black Sheep last night to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday. The table decided to order the feed-me option. I am currently 24 weeks pregnant. When I asked the waitress if this could be accommodated with the feed-me options, she advised me she did not know what pregnant people can eat. I provided the waiter with an overview of the dietary requirements (meat must be well cooked, no unpasteurised cheese, no raw egg, no fermented foods). The waitress struggled to understand this and then asked if chicken and potatoes were ok. I had to explain what fermented foods are; she did not understand this. My husband, who then got frustrated, requested if sauces like mayo could be put on the side.

The food was lovely and the portions we very generous. Food was a little slow to arrive, but everything was beautiful.

The waitress did not explain the food that was delivered. Dishes were not cleared until midway through desert. To be honest, the experience was spoiled by the poor service.

Overall lovely food, terrible service. The wait staff require serious customer service training and basic dietary requirements.

Great food but if you are in a group of 6 or more you have to have the set banquet which didn't work for our group and dietry requirements

Visited from Radelaide. Wandering around looking for somewhere to eat and bingo. Did not disappoint.

Staff was super friendly with exceptional service. The chicken schnitzel, I didn’t expect it’s just a piece of chicken schnitzel by itself (at least with some sauce or dressing?). Fish and pork belly were fine.

Gin tasting paddle was alright with good explanation.

But overall the whole night made me feel like the gin is the main character, foods were just decoration in addition to the drinks

Culinary gem in Geelong. Accommodated our booking of 4 at the last minute. Every meal order was spot on. The mushroom ravioli was devine! The fish of the day was fantastic and the schnitzel very well received. Also did not take ages for the food to come out. Well done!

Outstanding! Truly brilliant! Best squid I've ever had and friendly personalised service from passionate staff. What a great place. Highly recommend the "feed me" option. Great samples of many dishes. Thanks again guys and girls for an excellent night

Always love going to the Black Sheep Geelong. The atmosphere is amazing and have never been disappointed by their food. The service is always perfect.

We shared the Spaetzle (Austrian style Mac n Cheese) & Austrian Style Beef Goulash. We specifically eat here for those two amazing dishes. You have GOT to try the Spaetzle! Great service & good prices.

Absolutely amazing place to eat. 10 of 10 for every single aspect of the restaurant, the place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about food and drinks. I am definitely going back and highly recommend this restaurant.

Will definitely be back. I was blown away by the friendly service from staff who were knowledgeable and accommodating of my dietary requirements which I noted in my booking. I do this everywhere I go and follow up with a phone call to be sure that I can enjoy a night out. I can honestly say that I have rarely been treated so well in twelve years of dealing with this issue. Our waitress had seen my booking notes and done her homework. So when we were running through the menu I mentioned that I was the one with the dietary restrictions; she replied, yes, I've spoken to the chef and you can have anything except these items as she pointed out two. I could not believe how well catered for I could be. I shared a delicious meal in a relaxing environment with those nearest and dearest. Thank you for a wonderful night. See you again soon for the gin and tonic lemon tart!

Our 3yr old fell asleep in the car on the way into Geelong so we decided to stop by the Wool Museum, as museums and our toddler generally don't mix. He woke up soon after we had paid and entered (very reasonable prices) and to my surprise thoroughly enjoyed himself. The museum is set out over 3 levels which are all accessible by ramps. The displays are very visual and some are interactive to keep little ones busy. They even had sandpits upstairs so kids could dig for dinosaur bones. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the displays were very interesting and informative. The gift shop looked fantastic (lots of lovely woollen clothes, scarves etc) however the time on our metre had run out so we had to give it a miss. We found parking easily out the front on the street. Just make sure you have coins on you to pay for your ticket.

A must place to go while in Geelong for lunch or Dinner, wonderful staff, meals and drinks. Great variety in the menu, a must have is the Chocolate Tart with Antler Cherry Gin, Amazing! Thanks to Jake and Will for looking after us and making wonderful Cocktails, we will definitely visit again next time we are in Geelong

Fantastic dining experience, came in with 5 little kids and wondered if we might have been a bit noisy for the other diners. The staff assured us we were welcome and provided an amazing welcoming time with great friendly service and amazing food. Highly recommendable and the gin selection is brilliant. Cheers!
