The discrimination and lack of flexibility from a course that claims to be in the top 1% is regrettable. I can only suggest avoiding.

Teaching staff is the best you can get in Australia and they are very often considerate and try to help you but everything else like uni life, student society and admin assistance is mediocre - 2019 graduate

I enrolled at Deakin University with high hopes, but my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. The primary issue lies in the lack of meaningful student support. Whether it’s academic guidance, mental health services, or career advising, the resources seem inadequate and often inaccessible.

Moreover, there’s a pervasive sense that the university’s primary focus is on generating revenue rather than ensuring student success. Tuition fees are high, yet it’s unclear where that money is going, as it certainly doesn’t seem to be invested back into student services or educational quality.

Overall, my time at Deakin has felt like a waste — both of money and opportunity. I would caution prospective students to consider other options where their education and well-being will be a priority.

The university is terrible.
They don't consider the students as humans.
Inhuman amount of assignment and absurd schedule of classes.

I'd recommend no one to go there.

I did my masters from this campus. Absolutely great place to be and uplift career. Ample facilities ranging from huge library with closed meeting rooms, highly equiped labs for IT/medical/nursing students. The lecture halls are massive and well equiped with screens and speaker. Couple of restaurants and cafes with the campus which are great. The hostels are little expensive but have great facilities. There is a mosque as well in the campus. Totally love this campus.

People who are planning to move abroad do not go for Deakin university. This university doesn’t care about any student and have a very long process for approval. If u are planning for it u have to start 6-8 months prior and after that the university will not reply and your intake would miss. So be aware before u start. Am one of the students trying since too long.

By far the worst university. Do not apply here. I did 16 units here at the Burwood campus and the admin staff and teachers are just so unhelpful. I persisted just for the sake of finishing the degree but it was honestly the biggest waste of time. These courses are inpractical and taught by narrow-minded academia who would rather rave on about their deep socialist tenets than teach course material. Most of them don't facilitate free thinking or open discussions in class. It's sad to watch open discussions declining at places where free thinking is suppose to flourish. The quality of teaching is very low - the teachers will be tangential in class about irrelevant topics and do not know how to get a class discussion happening. I had a lecturer rave on about climate change and a 'privledge' quiz when it was not even relevant to the unit material. There were students rolling their eyes in class. She was trying to lecture a class full of international students and 2nd generation Australians about 'white privledge' when it seemed that her last name was the only Anglo last name in the whole class. She was also living in one of the most expensive suburbs in Sydney.

The culture amongst students here is P's get degrees. A pathetic university full of under achievers and inpractical courses. You're better off reading books and working on a skill or craft/doing an apprenticeship - you'd learn more and feel more fulfilled than doing a degree at this institution.

Had not realised how big the University has grown nor did I realised there were two building separate by a walking bridge. Very well layout and wish I had a Map or look at the direction more thoroughly to where I was going. My advice look at the Map first to where you heading to the right room/building etc!

World class infrastructure, insightful friendly and helpful teachers and staff. Well equipped library, and many such USP's. My daughter has been studying BCS and currently in the third year.

I did my Master of Arts Degree at Deakin University as an international student (2017-2018), and I had an amazing learning experience at Deakin Burwood Campus.

Most of my lecturers were highly knowledgeable, supportive and friendly. They honestly cared for our accomplishing our academic goals. I attended almost all the lectures which greatly benefitted me.

They do have a lot of supportive services, and I have benefitted from many such services. I fell critically ill towards the end of my study period, and they supported me so fully by giving me extensions, and even emotional support. If you
communicate with them properly, with relevant evidence, they are willing to support you.

Under the Deakin Talent programme, they continue to support us to find jobs and advance our careers, even years after graduation. I am much thankful to my university for that.

Honestly, I have nothing negative to say about them. I highly recommend studying at Deakin University to anyone.

I’m studying here, Master of Business (Sport Management) so far so good except Student Central which makes many mistakes in issuing letters and takes time when it is compared to student central at RMIT, my previous university.

Good Institute But poor administration.
Education is good here but due to some valid and legit reasons, i had to withdraw from my course. EVEN AFTER 3 MONTHS OF APPLYING FOR A REFUND they have failed to refund me completely. Moreover, they don't reply to your emails. Coordination between the different departments is lacking. This college is even a bit expensive than the others.
Though it was clearly mentioned in my offer letter that i am eligible for a full refund, they are denying it. Suffered a loss of more than INR 4,00,000.
ALWAYS THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING ADMISSION IN THESE KIND OF INSTITUTES.
I hope this review helps:)

Will offer no support or consideration especially to those with disabilities. If you try to reach out for help they will instead unenroll you and kick you out.

My niece may be attending this university in future. On a recent visit and stroll through the campus grounds and surrounding parkland, it felt very open, modern, inspiring and beautiful. The architecture, design and makeup of students also felt very diverse - somewhat like a collage of the future. I wish all attending students and faculties the very best as they contribute to the betterment of our societies and our collective future.
