Dandenong Ranges Horse Trail Rides

What an interesting experience to say the least.
The horses were beautiful and so were the tracks but the did not make up for the following…
- On the phone there was just a price given and a time to arrive, no engagement with customer or attire suggested (see below)
- My partner rocked up in shorts (we had not been horse riding before) and he was scoffed at and told that he is just going to have to our up with getting his legs practically waxed.
- We we’re told to get helmets and only by a fellow customer told that is best that they are snug on the head
- We we’re left waiting while someone who was running a little behind came - this would be a great time to interact with customers…
- We we’re told to ‘line up’ which we by trying and asking if it was right found out what it meant (to stand on the steps and get ready to hop on the horse)
- There was no safety briefing… ‘if this happens do this etc’… which you will find out would have been helpful…
- On the ride one or the workers horses got spooked and bucked her off… she was laying on the floor not moving for a solid 5 minutes and we were told ‘just keep your horses eating, not let them go forward! ’… this would have been helpful in a non-stressful environment to communicate, prior to the ride. The lady got back on the horse and was bucked on again - thank goodness it was not a customer, but still…!
- As we got back, there was no debrief about the genuinely intense and traumatic experience we went through on the ride we were simply told to get off our horse, that our legs would be sore and that they hoped we enjoyed.

Over all, really poor customer service, very unprofessional and simply disappointing when you pay $180 for 2 people…

Great ride through the Dandenong Ranges for 1 hour ride on Sunday afternoon. They cater for all levels of riding experience. The horses are well looked after. You can do longer ride with more experienced riders where you can do more. Highly recommend.

Beautiful horses that are very well cared for and the ride through the Dandenongs is lovely & peaceful. Highly recommend.

We took our 13 and 21 years old for 2 hours fun ride on Sat. The staffs were super friendly and the horses were well presented and lovely. The trail was very interesting to ride as you can experience many uphills and downhills as well as a few trottings. We had a little rest at the picnic ground where people socialised a bit, took some photos, also horses nibbled on some grass. Lucky was a very pleasant and sweet female horse to ride on. The whole experience was quite extraordinary compared with 1 hour rides we had before and the 4 of us enjoyed it thoroughly. Would strongly recommend them if you are up for a nice long ride.

Sunday 10am great for experienced riders. Fantastic staff and horses really well taken care of. Cant speak highly enough as caters for all levels and experience. Fantastic views and scenery all round very professional and highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time today on a beginners level trail ride through the beautiful forest. The first timers in our group of 8 adults and teenagers were well looked after by three staff- two on horses and one on foot. They reassured us at every step and the gentle horses looked after us as well. A great experience getting back on a horse after many years.

Excellent day out riding. Awesome value for money, safe horses for all levels of riding and a great crew who will look after you. So giddy up and get on down there

Took the family for the beginner’s ride on Sunday 1: 30pm and had a fantastic time riding through the Dandenong Ranges National Park.
The staff are very relaxed and friendly and really care for and know their horses and carefully match the horses to the ability of the riders. One member of our group was incredibly anxious and friendly staff member Ross was onto it and chose a beautifully docile horse ‘Clancy’ then proceeded to walk along side us for the entire trail ensuring all went well.
Will happily go again.

I took my 12 year old daughter for her first ever horse ride today and we had a fantastic time.
Ross spent a lot of time with my daughter reassuring, helping her and making sure she was comfortable and happy which was so nice.
The whole team were lovely and the horses are gentle and calm.
Highly recommend for those looking to start out and I'll be bringing my daughter back for sure.

Had such a great first time riding here, I had Clancy and he was perfect for me being a beginner.so much fun will definitely be back that's for sure.thanks so much to the owners for providing such a fun and safe experience, great and friendly staff as well, big thanks for Taylor, stuck with me the whole trail and calmed my nerves or any worries I had, such a great laugh as well. Beautiful horses and a beautiful ride through the forest. Great ride for beginners to get their confidence up.

Firstly I’m petrified or riding horses however my niece was down visiting and was very keen. We arrived and were warmly greeted by Alana, Kylie & Ross. We talked about our ride & everything we should expect and do to ride safely. Once on the very calm horse Lucky, my anxiety kicked in overtime & I wanted to get off. Kylie was so kind that she offered to walk Lucky with a lead until I felt better. After 10min I felt calm and Ross suggested I’d be okay to take over Lucky. He stayed close and within another 10min I was feeling confident. The ride ended up being so relaxing. I went from ‘this is the last time I’m getting on a horse’ to ‘I enjoyed this so much I think I’d do it again’. The horses themselves were so well behaved and calm having done these walks many a time. They are well cared for. So if you’re looking for a relaxing well run horse ride, don’t hesitate to use Dandenong Ranges Horse Trail Rides. Any review that says different have clearly gotten out of the wrong side of the bed. Thank you so much for a fabulous day. And it was lovely to meet Elizabeth a weekly Sunday regular ️

My girls went on the weekend I rang to confirm the guy on phone was so rude.
We were also told to be there by a certain time or no ride.
Obviously didn’t apply to everyone as were very late starting.
It was a hot day 2 hr ride it would go along way to just have cold drinks of water on riders return not hard to do or expensive!
All the staff were not friendly overall I would not recommend them!

The place is far from city life. In the middle of forset, mountain, nature. A must experience place to visit. They have fixed time.
Horses are trained, also can request for better one (we came to know later). We had 1 hr / $70.
I got Voly who loved grass so they said be bossy to him. I don't know if I did well or not. Still first time experience fun.

Helper are kind, sweet lovely, Btw still waiting for their video upload. Hope get it soon.

PS: 1) Have cash. 2) May hurt next day in lower body 3) wear jeans n shoes 4) if rainy get coats 5) No washroom.

Had a great experience! The people r friendly and happy to give pointers and the horses r extremely well looked after.

Horses are well looked after and loved.ride goes in amongst the trees in the Dandenong ranges.cantering walking and trotting depending on your skill level. Lovely ride.

We had such an amazing experience! The horses were so kind and gentle and we are so happy that we decided to come here! And what a beautiful trail it is too! We really enjoyed this and hope to come back soon!

This was a great experience the staff were very knowledgeable, helpful they made the hole ride easy and feel save so no need to worry if you have never had experience ridding before the staff will look after you.
(The horses are very calm and safe to be around)
