Dan Murphy's Belmont

I have been coming here for years and it's always good. I am a beer guy who sometimes buys spirits and rarely wine yet the range is broad in all directions. Today I was primarily hunting a slab of Oettinger. Which they had. Sweet. Good price too (well, equal to other places I can get it). While hunting that I saw that they had Coopers. I recently spent a weekend in Adelaide and I enjoyed the broad range of Coopers on tap, ones Ive never seen before. To my surprise, the range here is really good. Not just green, red and yellow! I've included pix. As a treat for the imminent Christmas and New Years, I thought I would get a bottle of white spirit like vodka. Which I found however my eye chanced upon Japanese gins. Japanese gins? Intriguing! I ended up getting Roku; 43% 700ml $52,95. Very decent. Lovely bottle. I update this review when I crack it open.

Needed a bottle of whisky not a whisky drinker the salesman was of great assistance to help me pick a nice bottle

Was looking for a specific wine and ended up walking out with a couple. Really helpful staff and an amazing selection.

Rude and arrogant female? Cashier. Elderly customer with medical conditions and she did not care. Abusive and refused service when dropped carton in trolley. She should be sacked with an attitude like that.

The manager (with purple hair) was more intent on telling me the wine - in the $5 bin - wasn't put their by staff. Taking no responsibility even though there were 5 more bottles in the same place, apparently it was someone else (stacking the shelves).

Having a long day and saying it would be nice it she was a little more curtious she responded "I don't have to".

Such a rude attitude from someone who should be leading a team is appalling.

Left without buying and needless to say I'm going else where.

Claim to beat any advertised price but on 8/7/21 the rude lady on the checkout argued that first choice liquor couldn't sell a slab for that price even after I showed her their web site. She dug her heels in and continued to be argumentative even with a que of customers waiting to be served.
Zero customer service.
Needless to say I happily drove to First Choice Liquor
So as not to pay an over inflated price for a slab.

I liked the shop because the products are always in the same spot which makes it easier to get in and out very quickly

Always great deals at Dan Murphy. The Belmont store has very friendly and helpful staff. There heaps of trolleys that can help you get around the shop. And parking straight out the front plus further up the back if needed.

Very happy with the customer service and the range of available choices. Sometimes I feel there's actually too many choices if that is possible (probably not)! The staff definitely know what they're talking about.

Some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. One word answers, more sass than I’ve ever seen in my life. Management should take a good hard look at who is serving their paying customers. Disgusting.

Staff can be rather rude at times regarding this whole mask business and then you explain you have an exemption and they treat you with complete disrespect. Some are how ever are lovely.

We went for a Riesling wine and the staff member who attended us was just incredible. He totally knows what he was saying and doing it. His recommendations were good and specific.

We were very surprised with how professional he was.

Very popular place, well stocked and generally good and quick service, parking can be a bit painful during the really busy times.

Large range of Aussie craft beer and some occasionally hard-to-find imports. Not all the range is represented in the fridge, though, so occasionally you'll need to take beer from the shelves, which you should try to avoid where possible. If more refrigeration space was available, it'd push five stars.

Always have plenty of range and supply. Lots of international and local drinks available. Friendly outgoing staff

Very poor customer service by the manager on 28/8/20, After being refused service for not having ID (a completely valid reason which is not disputed) my friend and i returned with ID to make a purchase at which that point the manager who refused our service attended to us in store and explained they would tell the staff at the register to make sure we had it at the checkout (again another absolutely fair request by the manager) however, they then walked up the aisle and within earshot said to another employee stacking shelves to "keep an eye on them". I confronted the manager and explained that her comment was rude and we felt unfairly judged she got very defensive and said we were banned from the store and were very "lippy" for merely highlighting our displeasure at her choice of words and poor customer service.
