Staff were friendly and helpful and beer cold. Food however fell very short. Steak sandwich at $30 should have been amazing but instead it was terrible. 2 very small peices of Pana di casa - bruschetta bread (tomato wasnt even in between but under the bottom peice and made it soggy) no caramelised onion which was stated on the menu and what sold me on it. Everything was just way too big for such small peices of bread and the scotch fillet, while tender had alot of of fat and gristle. Cheese was way over the top and overpowered any flavour the steak may have had. Sorry guys, bigger isn't always better. And the language from patrons in the dining area.not great sadly

All very good, would have given 5 stars on atmosphere if picture arrangement on the dining room wall wasn't quite so disturbing, excellent staff, good food, I highly recommend!

The service was efficient and the staff were exceptional. Our meals were delicious and very satisfying.
Everything was clean and well maintained.

Meals were extremely disappointing - Ordered Chicken Parma which the veggies were virtually raw & cold, Chips the same dead cold. Chicken cooked but ordinary Parma topping. Cesar Salad was barely edible & lucky I paid extra for Chicken pieces as there was 5mm bacon bits, rock hard croutons, served with a cold boiled egg instead of a poached egg. When brought to the attention of wait staff, she offered to get a poached. Took 15 mins by the time it came out, I was 3/4 finished eating. The poached egg was hard boiled so pointless being served.
Was not worth the $29 & $26 for either meals. Will never eat there again

I come here whenever I can and am never disappointed. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is always beautiful. So glad to have such a wonderful place to eat reasonably close to home.

The good, food was ready on-time, Chicken Pama is great.
The bad, portion of chip's was rubbish, aparently rationing of potato again. The exchange for sweet potato fries occured only in the bill. The salad was awful tasted like compost.

It was busy but meal was quick and tasty. Drinks seemed to be expensive depending what you had.

A beautiful old school pub, the food was all delicious, the service was second to none and a great atmosphere. Happy to make the drive out to Smythesdale and a pub we will be frequenting often in the future. Highly reccommend

We stopped for a few beers and to check out this beautiful building on our way to Melbourne. We loved so much we ended staying for dinner, it was delicious. Thank you for your lovely hospitality. We loved our experience its must.

Great restoration of the interior. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a Greek lamb and feta pizza which was a delight. Despite being full, the meal came promptly.

Good food. But no sanitary bins in the women's restrooms which is an absolute disgrace. Where do they expect people who have to use sanitary products to put them? Absolutely ridiculous and degrading. Manager is clearly a man or just plain stupid, should be highly ashamed. There is also no nappy bins in baby change area. Disgraceful.

We started the night with a drink at the bar with no reservation for dinner, bar staff were only to happy to shuffle and accommodate our dining room request, entree was the cheese and bacon cob loaf which was large enough for both of us to start. Mains were full rack of pork ribs and sweet potato fries for she who must be obeyed and scotch fillet with the seafood sauce, all meals came out in a timely manner and were cooked to perfection, dining room staff were friendly and around but not overly around to refresh drinks and see if we needed anything else.credit to the hotel for an awesome experience

Interior is very nice.
Couldn't have a meal there but only because the room was booked out for a festive gathering but, have been told to go there when able as the meals are great. Looking forward to calling in on our travels.

We came in as a large group for lunch today - excellent service, all our meals were served nice and hot, all at the same time, all delicious!

The staff were lovely, the food good, the price okay, and the background music was just the right volume, so you could her yourselves talk. We had been there once before several years ago, it was good then, and it is still good. If we didn't live over 100 ks away we would frequent more often.

Absolutely lovely place service great, I had pork ribs my partner had crisp salmon A1 staff 10/10 and they where busy waiting for meal less the 30min, Menue good selection.

Gorgeous old building that had been beautifully refurbished. Delicious food and great customer service. Highly recommend visiting and will definitely be coming back!

Dropped in for lunch, great service, awesome menu and great food. We had the main pork, calamari and saganaki - will def be back!
