Country Cob Bakery - Springvale reviews
47I have had take away from The Country Cob in Kyneton before, so was pretty happy to find one closer. I had the Mushroom Truffle Pie (OMG) and The Vanilla Slice amazing! You have to try them. These guys really know what they are doing! Lovely staff and Great prices. $5.50 for a gorgeous Vanilla slice, not $14 for tasteless Vanilla Slice I've had in Sorrento!
Amazing pies, friendly staff, ready to know what items you have brought as they wrote on box when buying take away and a large number.
I really like the seafood pie, it’s very tasty and it’s worth to buy it, it’s all about the quality of the food.
$10.50 for fish amok pie. Defs the most I've ever paid for a pie. Was it worth it? Very questionable. Carpark could really do with some line marking.
If you are claiming the best pie in Australia, you would hope that it was better than some local bakery's. This was a very regular pie. The beef was good. The chicken was average, and I threw out the Mac and cheese. That was just weird. Personally, Lou and co. Is the best pie south of the city, closely followed by Millers cantina. But if you want a local regular pie, furgurson plaire is better or carvosso cakes. Honorable mention to Jonny ripe with the butter pastry. I was hoping this was awesome. But alas. These others are FAR superior
Nice selection if pies with Asian twist. Bit hard to get to cos between busy intersections but once in plenty of parking. Pies good and not too expensive. Didn't try any sweet stuff cos we travelling but maybe next time as looked good too
Prawn laksa creamy and spicy
Scallop mild curry and whole chunks. Very good
Very very expensive for a microwaved pie.would like to have been asked first if i wanted it microwaved.no prices anywhere for other items.register doesn't show what you are being charged, queried price and found was being charged for an extra pie.
Truly unbelievably good pies. I love pies, and you will not find better pies than this full stop. Garlic prawn pie being a big favourite of mine. Worth a trip no matter where you are from. 12/10 sensational stuff
Very salty. Oversalted.
Underwhelming considering it won awards.
Tastes like Mrs Mac's
Tried curry, chilli con, pepper and potatoe pies so far. Delicious pies but potato wasnt a fan.
Original beef pie was good, can't go wrong with it. But the scallop pies were really tasty. Pie crust could be a bit more crisp but it's still good.
Viet iced coffee tasted like a 10/10, only issue was that you can finish it in about 4 sips, mainly filled with ice.
Good and quick customer service.
Overall experience is a 10/10. The pies are very tasty, I frequently come here and have not been let down once. Staff are very friendly. Coffee is great and refreshing. Prices are understandable and worth it in my opinion. The desserts are great too. 10/10 would come again.
Good pie and coffee service quick and efficient. Clean and well spacious.good Cake selection, at a good price.
I've been here a fair few times but the pies have dropped in quality over the last few months. I bought a beef and mushroom pie and the meat was chewy, pastry was soft and not tasty. The experience is enough to not come here again except for the vanilla slice
Excellent pies and services. Very deserving of the title as the home of Australia's best pies. They even gave me a free lemon slice.
Shop Nicely set up with plenty seating, good variety of pies, great coffee and friendly service.
I bought a steak pie, steak was real steak pieces, pastry was let down got reflux after eating it.
Too expensive, sausage roll was extremely greasy too feel bloated now.
Melbournes best pie lives up to its name. For sure one of the more popular places, a lot of foot traffic. The place is clean and spacious. In terms of pie variety they do have lot more variety than most pie shops. Also breakfast and brunch options. They do have a range of small desserts as well. It was enjoyable. Pies are deliciously one downfall of it would be as you are eating the pies, it tends to get really messy. The filling spills over to the back over ur hand. Definitely not recommend to have a picnic in case it gets all over you. Also got deals if you are buying more than one, can get one of their packs so save money. Average price is $7 for a pie, could be more depending the type of pie you are after.
OMG! The most mouth watering LIFE CHANGING pies are made here. Just got myself a curry scallop pie and let me tell you! This pie could probably pull you out of the dark depths of depression with how delicious it was!
Generous servings of scallops inside, big, full round and plump, with curry aromas I associate from the deep lush forests of Cambodia and Thailand.
Can not recommended this place or this pie enough! I only wish I had bought other pies as well to try!
The only thing I can fault is, they need to open it for longer! 8am-3pm is definitely outside of my visiting window due to work so that makes me sad. The quality is very consistent with their original store. Lots of space inside and outside to sit in. L recommend their Vietnamese iced coffee as well. Plus many of the cookies.
