Corner Chicken Shop

Amazing chicken and turkey shop. We get a turkey there every thanksgiving and Christmas. Gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce is to die for! My son is obsessed with the hot fried chicken ribs. They are succulent, hot, and great value. Also unlike other shops in QVM, they are open all year round.

Best Chicken Shop in all of Melbourne!

Couldn't recommend these guys higher, their staff are so welcoming and helpful, the Queen Vic Market wouldn't be the same without them!

While the quality of the product is ok, we have paid for a cooler bag but the delivery came without the cooler with no explanation or refund. Not very honest!

The only bad thing i can say is that they’re not all over the country! Their fried chicken is the best I’ve ever had and even walked back from the city just to get more!

Do yourself a favour and visit the lovely Corner Chicken Shop! The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. Chris and Olivia are extremely generous and donated a Chicken Parma dinner night to the PVFC. The chicken was absolutely amazing – so succulent it melted in your mouths. Absolutely the best Parma I have had in a while! Highly recommend! Chicken sausages are also so delicious. I look forward to trying lots of other things on the menu.

Personally I found both the chicken ribs and chips were just average in taste. Both were actually a bit oily but overall okay for the price I paid.

Their products are fresh and clean. The best shop in the CBD area, especially the Queen Victoria Market. All products are halal.

I have been shopping at the Corner Chicken Shop for over 10 years. All of their produce is amazing, the chicken is succulent and always delicious and their chicken sausages are heaven on earth! Chris and Olivia are lovely, always friendly and their service is impeccable. I can not recommend the Corner Chicken Shop enough! Enjoy!

Extremely rude service by a male staff. Had to ask for a receipt and given one only after the thlrd time as i stood there waiting for one. He was trying to laugh it away. There was no queue behind me. Such behaviour affects the experience of the tourists coming over here. Will lodge a complaint to the Vic Market manager. After reading those 1-star posts, this isn't the first time. Will rather buy KFC than subject to such behaviour in future. I don't really need a receipt, it is the way they treat customer thinking that it is ok to do so.

Great value lunch which is increasingly hard to come by in the area. The owners and their workers always have a smile for you and will make you laugh. The chilli wings are the bomb. Lightning fast service.

Fresh, plump chicken breast baked for my lunch; easy pre-crumbed schnitzels for the kids and tasty flavoured sausages (herb and garlic my favourite). Chris, Olivia and team provide the most amazing, personable customer service in the market. The Corner Chicken Shop is a must stop on everyone’s market visit

Long term regular market goers - we only ever buy our chicken / poultry here, the flattened marinated chooks are lovely too - always exceptional food and fantastic service - we are not allowed to visit grandchildren without bringing them a big bag of the best hot chicken ribs

I've never ever been here to this 21st century version but I do remember this eatery although the version I remember is vastly different and very basic to this newer version? ! The version that I remember from over 29 years ago might or might not be the same franchise or it's seriously upgraded from what I remember it from 1989/90? ! From what I remember as a kid, this place was owned by the son of the opposite Drago's eatery. He opened up this place up off the success of Drago's selling nothing but exclusively roasted barbecued/charcoaled chicken, think that he might of sold fresh range whole chicken as well to customers as well? It did okay but nothing like Drago's which I think the son hoped to emulate through the success of the fathers original franchise entrance next door. Now's there this newer variant which I'm not sure if it's still owned by the son of the father via Dragos (probably not now? !). It's so different to what I remember but this version looks like a success now then what it used to be? ! If this place is still somewhat owned by the son of father's Drago's franchise? ! Then out of respect to him? ! I give him 5 stars because when the father wasn't around when myself and my mom came to Drago's? ! He treated us real well, especially my late mother so kudos to him! I think that may of seen the son of Drago's still managing the original store but not the Corner Chicken Shop (don't remember the original franchise name before this? !) ? ! But out of respect to the Drago's original owner of this store when he did/if he does manage this place now? ! 5 stars!

Update: 2022! I recently just went to Drago's out off curiosity (didn't order anything) on a Sunday and I found Corner Chicken Shop (opposite the entrance) to be fully closed up and empty!? ! Like the stall was vacant or something? ! Please tell me that you haven't closed up the shop after 33+ years here? Just want to confirmation here cheers.

Things are not always what they seem.
I have bought two types of filled chicken things to be grilled in the oven. I may have another review. But I bought the saltiest fried chicken I’ve ever experienced and you know, considering it was in The Queen Victoria market I was super disappointed- I expect the stalls that showcase their wares here to be exceptional and above and beyond the generic.

Majorly disappointed today. I discarded the leftovers.

Best quality produce. Staff are always friendly and accommodating if I want something a little different. I recommend you shop there for your poultry needs, you will not be disappointed.

Disorganised and rude. The poultry was high quality, but the experience was terrible. Delivery driver just threw the turkey over the wall, didn't bother knocking. There are lots of butchers around, I won't be back.reply:
If you need to see how unprofessional these people are, look no further than their own reply. And indeed, any of their other replies.
- I never requested a delivery window, that was something you offered?
- You offered a quote on the phone that was different than your website. When I mentioned it, you aggressively blew up at me about it, rather than explain the situation. There is no reason for this behavior.
- You didn't call three times, your employee didn't take down the full number. I had to ring back, because I hadn't heard from you.
